We have been with this company for 5 years and have battled with them for 4 to simply get weekly service done on our lawn. Even after a phone call to David, our lawn is now going on 3 weeks with no service. Last year, they missed doing our lawn for 5 separate weeks during the summer and early fall. I have text messages and dates to prove it. It's a never-ending battle to get our lawn mowed, and it shouldn't be this way. When the customer knows every person in the company, it's a problem. We've NEVER had this problem with another lawn maintenance company. Based on the reviews, it appears that project work is their priority and weekly maintenance is fit in IF they have time. This is no way to run a business! I guess your guaranteed monthly payments from weekly maintenance customers is not important to the business. Save yourself many headaches and go with a company who values your business! **They asked me to take down this review last year, and I did after getting the issues resolved. Or, so we thought. I had an appointment with Manny for landscape service today.He was a no show. No call.

About 4 years ago I spent about 10K with this company to redo the landscaping at my house. In that time many of the plants have failed to thrive and some have died. Consulting another landscape company brought to light that most of the plants had been planted very poorly; holes too small, no soil amendment used. Also, some of the plants were not good choices for their placement in the landscape, meaning they were never going to thrive due to their environment. Most recently I had to remove a koosa dogwood and discovered the planting hole was no larger than the pot the tree came in. I feel like I wasted most or all of the money I spent with this company. read more

I recently used them for a project. The end result ended up pretty good, but I feel like there were too many speed bumps and a lack of communication along the way. The workers were great, and worked hard. The manager, Sean, was very nice and knowledgable, but definitely seemed spread way too thin, which led to portions of the project being miscommunicated or missed, and having to spend extra time to get them redone. Our project consisted of replacing a couple areas of grass with artificial turf, another area with Zoysia sod, replacing some walkways, adding some landscaping, and trimming some trees. All of that was eventually done, but the turf ultimately had to be torn up, reflattened, and nailed propertly as it was ripply/bubbly at first and coming up at the sides. Some areas we had requested turf were missed at first due to confusion, lack of communication. I think they just need some better oversight by having more management resources or fewer projects so that the proper amount of time can be spent. Like I said, ultimately it ended up pretty good and the price was decent as well. read more

Sean and his group did a great job of extending my flagstone patio and building a curved rock wall to frame it. The mason army crew showed up when they said they would, worked hard and answered all my questions. These were not precut stones so almost every piece was chiseled and pieced together like a jigsaw puzzle. The entire project took less than two weeks. No surprises or extra charges. As the Spring approaches ( and I am quarantined in my house) I love to sit out there in the afternoon and read and listen to the birds sing. read more

Sean and his team did an incredible job on an unexpectedly difficult project. We can't be happier and will use them again!

To the response of Sean: Again, we went back and forth for several months afterwards regarding the sod. I am not going to bring all that up again. My issue and reason for this is regarding the drain NEVER being attached to the piping. If we had known it was not attached 1 year ago, 2 years ago, 3 years ago..we would have contacted you immediately. In the picture you can clearly see the job was NEVER done right. This has nothing to do with fungus, dog traffic, etc. nor did we dig up our backyard undo the piping IN THE GROUND. The flooding never stopped. Anyone who reads this review is more than happy to contact myself or my husband with all emails with our concerns at that time about the water staying on surface and the drainage issue.Your crew came out in April 2013, we had ongoing issues with not getting things resolved all the way up until the end of September 2013. The biggest one was the catch basin NOT being installed properly. The grass you had to replace was due to your crew not doing the job right the 2nd time. We had to pay an additional amount for you to add another basin and use a different crew. Once you received your money, it was impossible to get a response from you. I finally had to ask for the owner's email and you almost immediately responded with the same excuse of "hectic time of year." The job was not done properly PERIOD. Just like an electrician putting in wiring and finding out years later when doing home repairs the original job was not done to the standards it should have. The same with your company. To expect the customer to dig around in catch basins to see if installed properly defeats the purpose of getting a professional to do it. I will say it again...this catch basin was never installed properly. This basin has NO piping. By your theory, the piping must have deteriorated into thin air and dirt took it's place. If that is the case, you may want to look into better piping for your projects. If it helps you sleep better at night to place blame on other factors other than your company over the last few years, keep doing that. We know our dogs, ourselves, fungus, and whatever other thought you have is completely inaccurate. read more

Received a flier, looked Impressive, called and some guy named Oscar came out who my father could not understand due to heavy accent. Asked for someone to meet me on Saturday so I could speak to them personally. They said they not possible and expected me to come home at lunch time to speak with them???? I'm just saying if you can't work with customers when your sending out fancy fliers to get more business, what's the point. Or send somebody who can communicate a little better, just my experience. Also can't get response from anyone quickly at all. I can't speak for there service quality. read more

First I must preface this review that I have never written a review before and that have been in the construction industry for over 40 years. Both commercial and residential. I firmly believe I know good quality workmanship from poor. I have also learned (I think) when to recognize BS when I see it. I would not recommend this company ever. Sean came out to price the rebuild an existing water feature. They removed the water old feature and replaced the liner and re-installed the rocks they removed. When I asked about low voltage lighting, Sean told me that he could have his "lighting" company install the lights that we agreed upon. His "lighting" company ended up being the same guys who removed and rebuilt the water feature. Once the lights were turned on....they literally blinded you as you walked down the steps. A complete cluster@#%*. Sean agreed, they then came and removed the above ground lights and left the underwater lights. Absolutely zero expertise in light placement and/or their usage. They had little concern of trying to minimize damage to surrounding plants or existing established Bermuda sod. Once they cleaned up, I had to literally get on my hands and knees attempting to remove their trash embedded in the sod. I will probably need to re-sod that area at my expense of coarse. Upon replacing the stones, they completely failed to remove existing black tar/sealant which was on the stones as Sean agreed to do. Approx 15 to 20 large stones with ugly black tar on them. Each time I asked Sean to get this taken care of, I was told that they were extremely busy, or it was the busy season or they just took on a large project..bla bla bla. Said he would get it as soon as they could. I was told that on three separate occasions. In addition, when they re-installed the rocks/boulders, they completely failed to hide the water boxes and/or pump box which contains the pump. They are both still uncovered as of this review. Sean requested that I buy additional stones to hide the boxes...I did per his request. Now I can not get him to come back and install them as he agreed. (he had been paid of course) Furthermore, the underwater lighting wires are 90% exposed (should be concealed either behind or under rocks). The last conversation (via texts no less) was that Sean said that he was busy next week and his crews were busy for the next two weeks. He wanted to have another meeting and talk about it to "make sure that it gets done right".. I told him that a meeting was not necessary and to just come do it. Other project were always seemed more important than mine since he had been paid for the stone work. I told him that I suggested that if he couldn't schedule this work to be done, then to GO AWAY and I would keep the lights as payment to have someone else complete his work. Sean then sent a whiny text that my text was uncalled for as it was his wife's birthday as well as Mothers day weekend (Saturday) boo hoo! It was my wife"s Mothers day weekend as well. I told Sean that if he had completed the work in a timely fashion as originally agreed upon, this all would have been done weeks ago before his wife's birthday or Mother's day and paid in full. Being in construction for 40 years, I have learned to document and photograph progress or lack of progress of the project at hand. There are simply too many to post. Sean should be ashamed, Frank the owner should be appalled at how his employee left a customer hanging and walked away. If this would have been my company...I would have 10 people there making this correct no matter what the cost. Not make me happy...but make it correct. Big difference! read more

During the 18 months that The Landscape Group was responsible for our lawn maintenance; our yard frequently looked overgrown, diseased and full of weeds. We had weeds up to our knees, shrubs growing out of control, huge diseased patches of turf and overgrown grass. In fact, it looked so bad that we received notices of violation from our homeowners association on two occasions, presumably as a result of neighborhood complaints. They threatened that if the condition of our yard was not immediately addressed we would be fined and charged for a company of their choice to perform the necessary services. This headache and embarrassment resulted in numerous phone calls to The Landscape Group's office manager, Sales Manager (James), and owner (Frank Schaeffer) to attempt to remedy the situation. Eventually their employees would come to our property and mow down the weeds, but they would grow back immediately. We chose The Landscape Group's multifaceted lawn maintenance plan rather than going with several different companies for mowing, fertilization, and chemical treatments because they promised to "own" our lawn. Prior to hiring The Landscape Group we paid for fertilization and chemical treatments from Tender Lawn Care and for mowing, edging and blowing from Curb Appeal Counts. The Landscape Group promised to do all of these services plus prune our shrubs and trees and check our irrigation controls. But ever since they "owned" our lawn in April of 2007, we had the worst looking yard in the neighborhood - despite paying more money for their services. The Landscape Group never applied chemical weed control, pre-emergent chemicals or fertilizer to our lawn and shrubs, despite committing to do so in the maintenance agreement and charging us for the services. I am a stay-at-home mother yet I never saw their employees or any subcontractors applying chemicals or fertilizer during the 18 months they were solely responsible for our lawn. We never saw a single flag or sign notifying us that pesticides had been applied to our lawn nor were we given any written notification that the service had been performed. My husband and I called their offices and talked to the Sales Manager, Office Manager and/or Frank Schaeffer numerous times about this problem and they repeatedly assured us that the chemical work was being done and that our yard's condition would be addressed and improved. My husband also wrote an email and sent pictures to Frank Schaeffer documenting the severity of the issue in April of 2008, but it still was not resolved adequately. We recently learned that The Landscape Group is not licensed and never has been licensed by the Georgia Department of Agriculture's Pesticide Division to apply pesticides and weed control to anyone's lawn. I filed a complaint with the Department of Agriculture on October 23, 2008. If The Landscape Group had actually applied chemicals and pesticides to our property they were required to have a Pesticide Applicator's license as well as a Pesticide Contractor's license, they were required to notify us of the treatments in writing, and they were required to post flags to indicate the perimeter of the treated area. We do not believe that The Landscape Group or any of their affiliates or subcontractors ever applied pre-emergent chemicals, chemical weed control or fertilizer to our property over the 18 months they were responsible for our lawn. In order to repair the condition of our lawn, we have contracted with Tender Lawn Care to immediately resume service and they are doing an excellent job. According to Tender Lawn Care it will take at least a year for our lawn to recover from the damage done by The Landscape Group's neglect. Based on their gross misrepresentation of services and the subsequent condition of our lawn, we do not recommend The Landscape Group to anyone. read more
