From my father, A. Douglas Blanchard, President, Slate Hill Condominium Association:
It isn't often I'm pleasantly surprised so when this happened I just had to let people know about our experience:
We live in a 6 unit condominium with our water supplied by a deep well. Recently everyone experienced an intermittent loss of water over a period of several days; we tried everything we could think of to test for leaks but couldn't locate the source of the problem. We had been pleased with previous service from Henderson Well & Pump but this was Labor Day weekend and they were already on an emergency job and weren't sure when they'd be able to come. One of our members called in a highly recommended plumber who checked our system and advised us the problem was either a bad pump or insufficient water below ground. His estimate was between $3,000 and $10,000 to confirm the problem by pulling up 1000 feet of pipe and replacing the pump and wiring but that was only if the problem wasn't a low water level in which case we'd be looking at drilling a new well!
We were devastated and it didn't help any when the plumber told us he needed an answer and deposit right away or he wouldn't be able to get his crew together until Tuesday (this was on Saturday). While one of myh neighbors began looking for a water tanker we could rent I called Kevin at Henderson and asked if he had any ideas or if there was any chance his crew could come as soon as possible? Finally things started to look up as Kevin asked me to recheck all the valves and faucets; instructed me to check the meters and reset the breaker switches so I could tell him what lights were and weren't flashing. In less than 5 minutes he ruled out both serious problems and told us it was an electrical problem either in the breaker box or coming from the power line outside; to turn off everyone's water and he'd be over the next morning to confirm his diagnosis. By noon on Sunday he'd checked the incoming power with a small volt meter; showed us that it proved a power surge from outside the building and waited while we called JCP&L. By 2:00 they'd arrived and before midnight the problem was fixed and everything's been fine since.
The moral to this story: Kevin's our hero! If you have a well or pump problem call him before you spend more money than you need to. He was friendly, polite, patient through all our questions and an expert in his field. His rates were reasonable but his knowledge, open mindedness and willingness to help were priceless!

On behalf of our little community... thank you Kevin!
