Yesterday was my first appointment with Dr. Pena and she is just amazing! Her bedside manner is perfect, she talks to you like a friend and gives a ton of options. I didn't feel at all rushed, and I've never had a PAP smear that was so effortless and painless. I didn't even feel it. I feel very confident in her abilities to handle all of my gynecology related needs moving forward! The office is very pretty, they do offer a lot of aesthetic services which I would love to hear more about. The staff were all nice, only downside was that my wait time was quite long. They incorrectly billed my insurance from an appointment a year ago, I spoke to them several times about this and now I'm stuck with a $150 bill for an annual appointment that was supposed to be covered. I thought this was taken care of, I spoke to someone in billing in March of this year. Apparently it was not taken care of and now when I call them THEY ARE USING A RUDE ANSWERING SERVICE FOR ALL BILLING QUESTIONS. Avoid Henderson Woman's Care and Cody Thorson PA-C. Over two years, I received dismissive, rushed, and unprofessional care. Despite ongoing bleeding and burning, no tests or ultrasounds were ever done and my concerns were repeatedly brushed off. At my last visit, even after proving that internal estrogen cream completely resolved my symptoms, she told me to stop without explaining why, ignored my questions, and made irrelevant, condescending comments. Follow-ups were missed, important results never given, and I later discovered false information and diagnosis recorded in my medical records. I left multiple appointments in tears, still without a proper diagnosis or treatment plan. This clinic shows a complete lack of compassion, communication, and integrity. read more

I needed a new gynecologist and visited Henderson Women's Care for the first time. I saw Dr. Gabriela Pena and she was a doll. Her bedside manner was so awesome. She took the time to listen to all my concerns (postmenopausal, previous doctors dismissing my concerns, etc.). She also explained the complete procedure of the exam (even though I have been seeing gynos for more than 40 yrs) and I told her that was the first time a doctor ever explained what would happen during the exam and she would put young girls having an exam for the first time at ease. Like I said, awesome bedside manner. Dr. Pena is lovely. Dr. Pena requested a full panel of bloodwork so we could figure out my hormones and had me see Cody Thorson PA-C. Cody Thorson is very knowledgeable and has a lovely bedside manner as well. She listened to all my concerns, had several options we could try to get my hormones under control and answered all of my questions. I could see how passionate Cody was about helping women figure out their hormone issues. The office staff was helpful and courteous and the clinic was clean, bright and welcoming. Everyone's experience is different, in my opinion, you should give Henderson Women's Care a try and see for yourself. read more

I have been going here for weeks. I've seen the PA and while she is good there have been issues. My first visit she called Dr tanila in because she couldn't find the opening to my cervix. He finished my appt. And was very understanding. Five appointments later, I went in for an endometrial biopsy. PA performed it and still couldn't find the opening to my cervix. She proceeded with the surgery. Took WAY more tissue than needed and was uncomfortable that I was on the table in immense pain and bleeding clots. My husband was with me and witnessed they took 3 times the tissue needed almost 4 oz. I'm crying in immense pain and she finished and said take Tylenol do you have any questions as I'm lying on the table crying and said have a good day and left, VERY quickly. Another Dr. saw me crying on my way out and looked more concerned than her. Had another biopsy scheduled the next day and had to reschedule because of the pain and cramping. Asked if they have a topical anesthetic they could use, NOPE. Doesn't seem like she has the experience or understanding for older patients because she has not experienced any of these issues yet. I love this office but the lack of empathy and personal experience is completely absent. Find a dr that has experienced these situations, hopefully because they have had them themselves. When I brought up my concerns beforehand I was instructed to stop watching videos about these procedures. Stop making women feel like they are being overreactive. We should be able to be honest with our doctors and expect adequate understanding and care. I also signed a VAGUE waiver for this procedure stating I understood the procedure and what to expect. It was never discussed about possible complications and what to watch for. Still in pain and no further instructions except go to the ER. UNREAL! read more

Avoid PA-C Cody Thorson if you can. She's dismissive, unprofessional, and lacks empathy, especially with FMLA or ADA paperwork. I felt rushed, gaslit, and not taken seriously about my medications or symptoms. She is very condescending. Dr. Hernandez also defended her poor behavior instead of making effort to correct her mistakes. He was also rude, he calls himself "blunt" (his words) I left his appointment feeling misunderstood, I was rushed out, it brought me to tears. Not to mention he wanted me to believe that Depression and Anxiety were the same thing - they are in fact two distinct conditions. Upon reviewing my medical records, I discovered false information being recorded, and most of the information that was never verbally discussed with me. Their actions almost got my medical accommodations denied. If you need compassionate, understanding care--especially for conditions like endometriosis--go somewhere else. read more

My experience here was great I delivered my daughter in August of 2024. I was seen by Cody and Pena and even Hernandez at one point all three providers were great and helped me understood my needs for not only me but the safety of my first child on the way and referred me to the high risk pregnancy for once a month and still saw them in between the two providers. The surgeon who preformed my c section was a provider from their office as well I can't remember her name but on the day of the c section she made me feel comfortable and safe during the delivery process as a first time mom. I highly recommend going to with Dr Pena for anyone who is looking quality of care in women's health. read more

If you get referred to Simon medical for ultrasounds please check with your insurance to see if it's covered before going. My insurance covers ultrasounds but because of the way Simon medical bills they'll claim it is not covered and try to charge you a substantial amount (they quoted me $400). I ended up going to a different doctor to be treated and did not have to pay for ultrasounds because my insurance covers it. It's unfortunate that this place is just trying to capitalize on their ignorant and make as much money as possible. read more

Do not trust this practice. This practice has lost or sent off multiple unlabeled test specimens of mine and I've called, left messages, and tried to inquire about it and they do not get back to me. Mishandling DNA is malpractice. I've had bad interactions with blatantly rude front desk staff, and the lack of care here does not sit right with me. It's unfortunate that they claim to have such a great medical staff. I'd look into the staff for being genuinely careless, and not having a patients best interest in mind. read more

Glad to say that I've had the best experience all around with Henderson Women's Care. I was seeking an OB/GYN as this is my second pregnancy and first here in Las Vegas and came across HWC. Everyone from the front receptionists to the PA's to the phlebotomist and OB/GYNs have been amazing throughout my pregnancy. The office itself is extremely clean and well-kept. They make it clear that throughout your pregnancy, the overall setting is a group setting where any of the doctors will take care of you. I have been seen by each doctor here and they are all amazing! Any problem or concern you have can be brought up and they do their best to help you and do not make you feel less than. Towards the end of my pregnancy, I was seen by Dr. Peña who ended up delivering my baby. Overall, I've loved my experience and treatment here and will continue to see them for future purposes. Dr. Hernandez was the Dr who finally listened to me. I have gone to at least six others in the valley over the last fifteen years who dismissed my symptoms, my ULTRASOUNDS, my pain... trying everything I told them I had already tried. FINALLY, I got the surgery I had been hoping for since it was obvious nothing else worked. The recovery from my hysterectomy has been a PIECE OF CAKE compared to the decades of pain, cramping, and other issues I've dealt with from cyst after cyst or hormones that just made things worse. He interrupted my questions with "Let me do my job," (direct quote) and kept cutting me off. He dismissed my concerns, told me not to do my own research, was in and out in like 3 minutes and I had no chance to discuss the things I had come to discuss. Despite me having spotting, he said Dr. Hernandez said let's see if he gets worse in six months. Six months we'll do another ultrasound. He couldn't even go up there with that skinning tube to do the biopsy because there was so much scar tissue on the cervix. I said why would I have scar tissue on the cervix he says because of age This guy He didn't wanna do it. Oh well I tried What kind of craziness was this. Let's wait six months to see if it gets worse. We'll do another ultrasound. Is there any gynecologist that can handle Complex female issues, and I want a woman no more men this is the second man that has made me feel like slugging them no more men. I visited their office on July 2024, and they used the wrong code for billing my visit. They sent the samples to Labcorp, instead of Quest, which is covered by my insurance. Now I have been sent to collection by Labcorp due to their error. I have been in contact with their office by text, and was assured that this had been corrected, and I am not responsible for the debt. Be careful, just as they ask you to sign waivers, maybe the patients need to get signatures from them as waivers that we are not responsible for their mistakes in coding and billing. read more

Was scheduled for an 8:30 today, 03/18 for blood draw and ultrasound. Received a call at 8:05am stating the appointment had to be rescheduled due to doctor being stuck in "surgery". How do you guys expect us to give a 48 hour notice of cancellation if we can't make it or we get charged a fee but it's okay to give us 25 minutes notice. Fasted for 12 hours for nothing and both me and the husband had to lose a day without pay for this appointment and now take off another day next week. So inconvenient. I was able to get in next day for a new patient appointment with Dr Hernandez, which was great since I waited 2 months to see another provider in a different clinic, and my problem has now become urgent. He was very nice, knowledgeable, and informative. I liked his bedside manner quite a bit. I prefer younger Drs because they are taught the most current research and newest surgical techniques; plus they haven't been jaded by the healthcare system quite yet. That's just a personal preference. I'm not a "small talker" in general, especially not with my gynecologist, so I appreciate that he went straight to business but in a friendly and kind way. He's a really attractive man, and that was a pleasant surprise because I didn't do any research. I just picked a name off my insurance web site. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT INCOMPETENCE. My 73 year old mother went for an exam, paid $300 Cash since her insurance was out of network. Doctor saw her for 10 minutes, took a culture & the staff LOST IT. Then we later found out it was most likely "Thrown away" YES. An elderly woman on a fixed income paid $450 cash (exam & culture) to have her culture discarded. We called for 3 weeks to get results only to be told it was probably thrown away. Lisa, the office manager, deserves an award for her kindness but the owner Dr. Tanita, the owner, refused to make this wrong a right. So, we decided to fill a claim with the medical board, contact the news and I as her daughter am posting EVERYWHERE I can at the injustice my mother received. Here's a question.... what if the culture they lost and ultimately threw away showed something serious & here my 73 year old mother does not know!? No compassion. No respect. No accountability! Dr Tanita OVER FED with his Hormone Replacement Pellets that my Hair has Fallen out!!! He did the proper blood work beforehand and knew I hadn't had the Hormone Pellets but he just said my body must be "Sensitive" to this process! Not only do I have hair loss but I had a Massive Acne problem for a year and a half on my back, face and scalp plus persistent vaginal infections. Then he continued sending me billing statements even though I had paid him cash upfront! This is the most unprofessional caregiver I've ever met!! read more

Please for your own mental wellbeing and sanity, do not go to this office for actual medical care. Their one star can go toward the aesthetic of the office. Well decorated and appears nice. 1. They don't have the option for in office transvaginal ultrasounds. I was sent out for a referral and after following up multiple times, a week later it still hasn't gone through. Might not be their fault but weird you're a women's care facility and you charge so much extra money for random things but you don't have an option for in-house transvaginal ultrasounds. 2. (Specifically about the DOCTORS) If they need to break some sort of negative news to you it is done with 0 compassion or empathy. They blurt some random statistic out to you and immediately run out of the room without further explanation or information about what you're experiencing or what your expectations should be. Cody is the only one who seemed to give any sort of care. 3. If you are pregnant, they won't do bloodwork or ultrasound until nearly 12 weeks. Their reasoning is to "cut down your visits" weird because a lot of problems can be caught earlier than your second trimester but that won't happen with this office. 4. Every prenatal visit felt like the actual doctors don't give a shit. They have a weird vibe that they know everything and don't listen to anyone else because they're not your doctor. Fair but not a space where you can inquire about your questions or concerns. 5. The least of all the issues I've experienced here, every time you need paperwork you'll come in for your appointment. They'll get paid for that visit but they'll charge you an additional paperwork fee and take 2 weeks to get it back to you and give it back to you incomplete/ wrong. read more

Dr Tanita ruined my life. I went in for an ablation at age 46. I just wanted relief from monthly. He said since I'll be put under anyway, why not just do a hysterectomy? I said I have nothing wrong with me, I've never once even had an abnormal pap, I don't think my insurance would cover it. He assured me they would. He gave me no information or warning about the surgery, after care or long term side effects. He acted like it was no big deal. I was naive and certainly wish I had done more research. Afterwards I suffered severe symptoms. Dr Tanita literally prescribed me anxiety SSRI meds for my hot flashes. Awful! Last thing I needed. He offered no help, no support or solutions. I'm sure if I was still going there he would try to convince me that pellets are the answer. He made me lose ALL trust in doctors. Save yourself, find another practice that actually cares about their patients, not just the money they make off of your completely unnecessary major surgery!!! read more

Diana S. 10/22/24 I would give this a 0, but it doesn't let me give less than one star! I saw Dr. Hernandez for irregular bleeding. He set up an ultrasound, and I had to find out the results myself, because he told me he will only call if he found something. So, on Monday, Oct. 21, 7:45am, I set up an appointment as he wanted to see me. He came in and said that they found nothing, while I was told a biopsy might be in order. He said "no", not necessary. As for contacting me, he told me "if I returned everyone's call, what with all the questions they had, I'll get nothing done!" Excuse me, but isn't that what you are also here for? Putting our minds at rest? I guess I'm wrong. He then said, "If you think you will be here in 10 years, you might consider a yearly exam". What???? I apologize for not being of child bearing age, but I've got a lot of life left, doctor! So, all you ladies out there who are mature aging females, don't bother going to see this terrible doctor who has the bedside manner of a frog! He will just blow you off!!! Beautiful office, with a relaxing and very clean environment. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful (something I absolutely do not take for granted these days). Dr. Tanita is knowledgeable and professional while also being easy to talk to and very thorough in ensuring understanding. The times that I've had to call and leave a message, I have always received a timely call back from the staff. And they have the ability to do bloodwork onsite, which is so convenient when labs are needed. Even the phlebotomist is so sweet and kind. This place is really great We are happy with the services, The doctor there makes you feel very Comfortable. The only thing that is making us not want to come back is the Front office manager Kathy, We've been in twice now and each time there is always a issue with her, She feels the need to act however she wants to the customer and that appalls me, She is very disrespectful... I called a few days ago to switch the phone number because they were calling me not my Wife and when I called she asked me if I knew that this was a women's care center with attitude.
