I may not know a ton about henna, but I do know art and Kristina is an amazing artist. Her designs seem to integrate authentic design with a modern twist--which I love. She makes her own paste from scratch using only authentic, natural ingredients, including lemon juice, sugar and essential oils. I sat down and within mere minutes she'd created something gorgeous and phenomenal on my hand (see the pics) Coming from a very pale gal who tends to be OCD about her skin (no tattoos for me) I was worried this was going to be a shock for me--it lasts 1-3 weeks! But I've been obsessed--in a good way--since I got it. And now I want her to do my entire back! I requested a design I found online and the owner/henna artist put her own take on it which ultimately was even better than the online image! The owner/henna artist was super down to earth and crazy talented! She promptly answered all of my questions leading up to the appointment and continued to do so during the experience. Her pricing is very fair considering her talent and knowledge. The service was top notch! The store is adorable, and I love that the tea, candles and other items available are from local business owners as well. After the henna application, she carefully taped over it usually a special tape which protected it while the color developed that initial day. My only critique is that a portion of my henna design is significantly darker than the rest, however, I did use some self tanner the next day which I was told could lighten the stain. I just would have thought it would have lightened all of it. I'll definitely abstain from using self tanner the next time and see how it goes! I can't wait to return!
