Less than 5 months after having knee surgery, I ran a marathon. That's right. Dr. Rawal IS incredibly gifted. My scars are minimal and he clearly got me back to running in an unbelievable amount of time. Dr. Rawal is not much like others in his profession. I never waited more than a couple minutes in his waiting room (what??? Yes, I am sure I'm talking about an orthopedic surgeon). He spent time with me explaining my diagnosis, showing me the MRI images, answering my litany of questions, allaying my fears and truly caring about me. He also got me in for my first preference of surgery date. On my surgery day, he calmed me down when my anxiety began to kick in. He also showed me pictures from surgery both in recovery and again in my follow-up visit. I couldn't have been happier about my experience with him at the Hinsdale Surgical Center. Honestly I was, at first, thinking this was a lot. But I quickly changed my mind. I was assured they knew I chose the right hospital! Registration was so easy, the associate was extremely professional but also had such an amazing personality. She could see I was nervous, she took the time to stop for a minute to let me know I was in good hands. She wasn't saying that just to say it, she has experienced all kinds of services and she would never go anywhere else. I feel bad I forgot her name because this was 3 days ago. 8/17/26 6:30 pm is when I met her. Fast forward to today, arrival was 5:45 am I went up to the second floor and check in was smooth - all of my information was accurate so I just waited for my turn, I made sure to get names this time! My journey began with Pre-Op nurse NATALIE, best beginning to my scary day! Her bedside manner should be standard. So kind and patient, explaining everything. She raved about the ELMHUST Team in comparison to other facilities/ experiences. The next step to my journey was surgery, Nick was my OR Nurse, again explained what's happening and the team that would be in there. Margaret, Anesthesiologist Nurse and Dr Bautista, Anesthesiologist . Just as amazing Margaret heard my surprise with the OR table and helped to reassure me. Dr Bautista was fast but clearly explained what his job was and what the procedure would be. Margaret had a CCU nurse but I couldn't remember her name ( I'm sorry) she was so sweet smiling the entire team did Great! Next stop over to Post Op and Wendy! I don't remember much but I do know she stayed close, she was kind. She explained everting went well and the Dr had already notified my family. I think I slept a lot of Post OP because she said after a little while they need me to stay awake, she told me where I was going next and I was rolled away! Off to Observation a new unit in the first floor near the ER. It was really nice- clean and definitely everything new. STAFF! He also noticed my hair thinning due to menopause and helping me with that too. My primary care doctor Maelen Pantano. I've been going to her for years. She's OG has good bedside manners. If she can't help then she would refer other specialist as needed. She has this location and in addison. This clinic has their own private parking lot and free street parking. The place looks modern and clean. It does get busy but they call in patients in a timely manner. Overall the staff here are friendly and it's not a stressful environment. I would come here again but do your research of their doctors here and find the right fit for you. Overall I would come back here again due to its location and my doctors here.

Extremely Disappointed in New Policies and Care Denial I…read morehave been a patient of Dr. Spiewak since 2018, but the recent changes at this practice have made it impossible to receive reasonable care. In 2026, Dr. Spiewak shifted to a concierge medicine model, serving only a class of privileged patients who can afford a $2,500 annual fee just to keep their family doctor. To make matters worse, after being forced to select a new provider within the clinic, we were met with a rigid "big money / big pharma" stance regarding routine care. The clinic now refuses to see my 11-year-old daughter or sign her required school health forms simply because we choose not to follow their exact vaccine schedule preferences. Abandoning long-term patients for membership fees and denying basic pediatric administrative needs like school paperwork is unacceptable. The clinic's new policies create unnecessary obstacles for families and prioritize money and dogma over patient care. I will be looking for care elsewhere.

Fortunately, they had an MRI available at another location. However, when I went to see the scheduler to schedule my mom's MRI, that was where we experienced the most disservice. The scheduler assisting us was Sara, and she was the most condescending, insulting, and arrogant person I have ever met. First, she called my mom's name, and I told my mom that I could speak on her behalf to get the appointment scheduled. Sara replied with an annoyed tone, "I need the patient. I have questions for her to answer." I explained that I handle all my mom's scheduling and that she gives me full consent to assist her. Sara responded, "Why do you know all her history?" So, I asked my mom to come up just to get it over with. Then, Sara asked if my mom spoke English, and my mom answered "Yes." Sara responded with an insulting look and said, "Do you speak English... WELL?" My mom pointed to me and said she would tell me if there was something she didn't understand. Then, Sara asked my mom what her primary language was, saying it was needed to arrange for a translator. She continued asking question after question, which both my mom and I answered. Afterward, Sara asked, in a condescending tone, "Are you going with her to the MRI appointment?" I said yes, and she replied, "Okay, because I don't know how good our translators are." Then, Sara said the earliest appointment she had available was on the 28th, which was a Friday. If that didn't work, she had Saturday available. I told her I would prefer Saturday, as I work Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. She responded in a condescending and insulting tone, "No, not Saturday. Erase that. She can only go Monday to Friday because she needs a translator." I explained that my mom understood the language, but Sara insisted, "No, she needs a translator. Forget I said Saturday. She cannot go on that day." I reminded her that I would be accompanying my mom, especially since she had asked if I was going, as she wasn't sure how good the translators were. Despite this, she insisted that my mom could not go on the Saturday appointment. I finally told her to forget it and that we would go with an outside provider who could accommodate us on a Saturday. I don't understand why my mom couldn't go on the Saturday appointment when I can translate for her. It wasn't my mom's first time having an MRI--she had previously had MRIs of her brain and neck. I don't understand why she was making such a big deal out of it. I thought Sara would help us make it work, but instead, we felt mistreated and insulted by her actions and words.

I came in for a moving injury on my shoulder a while back. He did an x-ray at his location and said that it didn't seem like there was a tear, maybe just less cushion between my joints. He decided to schedule MRI as "an abundance of caution". However, He didn't recommend a basic MRI, he recommended an arthrogram which in hind sight, seemed unnecessary. He recommended a local hospital as is preferred partner, and it was awful. The MRI cost me $700 and took about three hours versus a outpatient Quest Diagnostic type location that should've been 100 bucks and an hour. I never received the MRI results from the hospital. I recently received a bill from Dr. Mody's office for another $200 for my initial visit. I have yet to return to even go through the MRI results, partially because I don't have them (thanks Advent La Grange for wasting more time I don't have) and partially because this seems like a bill at all costs type practice. I refuse to go back if it's going to cost me $200 when any other specialist under our health plan is a $50 copay. Note- I gave them my insurance upfront so this shouldn't be a $200 + $600 MRI for a sore arm.
