I have been suffering from rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis for years. I have been on different medication, steroids and pain medications. With the constant pain, and inability to do minimal tasks, I was somewhat depressed. My doctor had went through the entire procedure of care. She said that I should try physical therapy. I decided to go to ARC because I went there years ago. I still was somewhat reluctant because I knew my former therapist was no longer at the facility. With some celestial help I was on the list to be a patient of Rich. I am very opinionated and reluctant when it comes to anything medical. Its one of those been there, done that. I started the first week with three sessions, and did my homework. My outlook changed, I wanted to do things. The pain comes periodically but I don't suffer from the severe stiffness I once had. I have been doing gardening, and even fostering two puppies. Things i would never thought of doing just a month ago. They asked me write a review. I did not hesitate because my therapy was so beneficial. Rich was a great PT guy. You can see he really cares about you as a individual not just as a person to occupy the work day. I think its important not only to go to a rehab clinic but to find a therapist that cares. Nowadays it is rare that people celebrate their occupation. Rich does. I am a 37 year old runner and combat veteran with limited medical care. Last summer 2012 I discovered ARC on the internet. It started with a free injury consultation at the Elmhurst Fleet Feet shoe store where I meet Annie whom which was extremely knowledgeable and sympathetic to my pain. She quickly diagnosed me with severe shinsplints and recommended that I come into her office for further care. Upon informing her of my limited medical coverage, she informed me of and recommended that I apply for the "Grant a Wish Program." This program gives individuals with no insurance free therapy to those who can not afford it. All I needed to do was write a letter, so I did, and I won. All summer I received top quality therapy from Annie and her associates. Not only did I receive therapy, Annie also gave me an exercise program that focused on strengthening my hips and core. These exercises would later valuable in making me a stronger runner. If it was not for Annie and ARC I would still be caught up in the old Veterans Health care system and still not able to run. Having lived with neck and shoulder pain for many months, I finally reached out to my internist. X-rays and an MRI led to my dr.'s recommendation for physical therapy. Family members and friends have been treated at ARC Therapy successfully, so my decision to seek out Kevin's help at ARC was an easy one. Now, five weeks later, my neck pain has completely dissipated and my shoulder pain has lessened dramatically. During our first session, Kevin listened patiently to my medical history and then explained to me his therapy techniques and strategies. Through the treatments, I have a better understanding of the spine and surrounding muscles/tissues. I was referred to Kevin Cronin due to chronic pain following knee replacement surgery, and 6 months of physical therapy at another PT chain where I had problems getting any individualized help. Kevin helped direct my home exercise program for my knee in addition to treating my other pain trigger points in my head neck and shoulders. I am no longer in constant pain, nor on pain meds, and have an ongoing program that changes as my strength and flexibility increases. I go in for occasional tune up to my home program, and when I need a specific treatment. The strain counter-strain treatment is better than any chiropractic manipulation I have received for headache and neck pain. I have also learned how to strengthen and change my posture to avoid problems. The staff here is thorough, caring and constantly training and improving their skills. After having extensive therapy at another well regarded physical therapy organization, I was dissatisfied with the progress and was referred by my surgeon to Kevin Cronin at ARC. The difference was like going from working with an A-minor leaguer to working with an MLB veteran. The rate of improvement immediately accelerated; the PT sessions were less painful and less draining than the other place. Kevin has a wealth of knowledge and experience. By treating the root causes of my symptoms, my capabilities have steadily improved and my symptoms and pain have markedly decreased. Whereas before I was becoming discouraged at the prospects for recovery, I'm now far more hopeful. I had a good PT from a 2006 surgery who'd since moved her practice too far away for me to patronize, so I've had relatively broad exposure to the varying quality of physical therapists. I think going to ARC is probably as good as it gets when restoring your health and strength. My experience with ARC Elmhurst has been one of extreme satisfaction. I have been treated for an injury on my shoulder as well as therapy to restore function to my knee after surgery. Kevin and staff have been kind and supportive and welcoming throughout my visits. In addition, they are practicing new and innovative techniques to limit pain and swelling so they care about getting me back on track as quickly as possible. In July of this year I came to ARC with a really bad neck issue. I really did not think I would be able to use my left arm and hand much. I am so pleased with my experience at ARC Physical Therapy! I came in with severe back pain and am so happy to report that I'm leaving with a positive outcome of painless days! I worked with Rich and Annie. Together they helped get me back on my feet and exercising again. I loved learning about the counterstrain technique. I went to this office before my surgery and now I am back after my surgery the staff and everyone here are so friendly and you get one on one time with your PT. Kevin Croinin is absolutely the best physical therapist I have had the pleasure to know. I became a patient at ARC Physical Therapy after having shoulder replacement surgery. Kevin was compassionate and understanding of my pain. At ARC you are seen in a private room. Kevin worked with me and greatly reduced the pain that I was suffering with. I highly recommend ARC Physical Therapy. I initially chose them because they were close to home and work, but I quickly came to realize how good they are at what they do. I came to ARC after several years of hip pain after a terrible fall. A friend recommended that I come to ARC to help with my leg mobility. I came to Arc in early June 2012 with 2 herniated discs. I was also getting Chiropractic care and my Chiropractor Dr. Kelly suggested I see Annie at Arc.
