I walked in and turned left to find a bunch of serving ware and cookware, tucked next to it are aisles of snacks and cookies. The farthest left corner is the raw meat section - this was the only aisle I didn't visit, and it's taking away from 5 star rating! The aisle had a strong odor, foul almost! Perhaps a little cleaning and maybe storage/refrigeration should be looked into. I was particularly drawn to the tahini and spice aisle. Also, the Mexican pottery section. I walked in with a resolve to just look around. Alas, I walked out with a bag of amazing goodies! Dry dill, mint leaves, dry green sabzi mix, plenty of other spices. Worth a visit!!!

The pork section has now expanded into a major part of the store, while the halal section has been reduced to what feels like a small kiosk. For a business that built its reputation around serving the Muslim community, this is incredibly disappointing. I asked the Arab Muslim working at the checkout if these changes were hurting their business. He smiled and told me that business is actually better than before. If that's the direction the owners want to take, that's their choice--but it also means they've chosen profit over the values that originally brought many of us through their doors. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if beer and alcohol are next. The store no longer resembles the halal market it once claimed to be. Today was my last purchase here. I have officially stopped shopping at La Princesa and will be taking my business elsewhere. As a Muslim, I cannot support a store that has moved so far away from the principles it once represented. I dont know how do these people even sleep at night doesn't their conscious bite them of guilt and disgust for cheating Allah and the community. In my opinion, they have traded their values for profit, and that is deeply disappointing. May Allah guide them back to the right path.

She helped my mom pick out a watermelon, then even cut it in half to make sure it was a good one and that my mom was happy with it. It was such a simple gesture, but also incredibly thorough, and that kind of thoughtful customer service really stands out these days!
