We also enjoyed the nearby area that has a few restaurants and little boat docks on either side of the river where we sat and enjoyed the sun. 'Glamping' is a generous description as my family has glamped in Goleta / Santa Barbara, Calif…read more where safari tents have electricity (heaters throughout the evening), mini fridges, and microwaves. The site has a general store as well as a market/deli Under Canvas is closer to camping than glamping for the following reasons: 1) It took effort to start evening fires in the wood stove, but we didn't appreciate waking every 1.5 - 2 hrs to maintain the fire... and overnight / early morning temps were 37* F - 40s * F. 2) Other campers were loud and didn't respect quiet hours starting at 10pm. We're sympathetic with families with children. However adults are capable of speaking in lower volumes, cheering / shouting, etc. and committed to the guest agreement. (Mgmt. likely anticipates this, so ear plugs and eye masks are available for free in the lobby.) 3) The on-site breakfast restaurant (back of house in particular) isn't prepared for the number of diners. If you bring your own food, your vehicle serves as a rodent / bear box food locker. We didn't mind the common bathhouse, with locks that show which units are occupied / vacant. Each unit affords more privacy because they feature sink, toilet and shower (water is heated by a propane tank). Each unit has electricity and is temperature controlled. Highlights: a) Complimentary hot coffee, hot water, tea bags, decaf coffee packs are available in the lobby as early as 6am daily. (Half & half and oat milk and sweetener condiments are available.) The lobby features commercially packaged food & drink items, in addition to merchandise (apparel, games, maps) b) Despite the cold temps, the beds are comfortable and the 6-layers of bedding kept us warm. Hot water bottles are available upon request. Furniture inside and outside tents encourage rest. c) USB-charged lanterns and power banks to recharge personal electronic devices are available. Exchange the power banks at the front desk as needed. d) Multiple cornhole sets available and a children's play area nearby, in the open space adjacent to the lobby. e) Fire pits and s'mores ingredients are available nightly if you want to partake. A no-host (you pay) happy hour drink trailer is also available in the open space adjacent to the lobby. f) Daily activities planned for children, in addition to a live singer-songwriter during a happy hour once or twice a week. g) Friendly staff on a work exchange from across the U.S. They do their best... Campers are advised to text the front desk to seek assistance. This site is less than a 15 min one-way drive to the town of West Yellowstone. The Food Roundup store is great for groceries if you want to stock a cooler for lunch within the national park. I recall one father asking the UC staff if milk was sold on site.

If you read Adriana's review before that one, you may be mistaken because while much of the staff is young here, I think they would handle an emergency just fine and their enthusiasm and dedication to ensure a positive guest experience is clear. Furthermore, if you are expecting glamping to control for the elements, you haven't read enough about Under Canvas or glamping in general. When we visited it was close to freezing in the middle of the night. Like Adriana we also woke up some when the fire burned out in the middle of the night. On the other hand, we also experienced the great pleasure of creating a roaring fire that, for most of the night, kept our tent very warm, and created a peaceful backdrop to reading in the comfy chairs in the tent. It was also so windy we felt like the tent might blow down but it was fine. The elements are part of what you except when you sleep in nature. Compared to our stay at Under Canvas in Paradise Valley at the other end of the park it was slightly cheaper here. Perhaps it is because there's more competition nearby as it is much closer to a population center (and entrance to the park) with the town of West Yellowstone. Like Brandy, we also heard more noise outside (Paradise Valley was silent) but otherwise, the feel and overall arrangement is very similar of course between the different Under Canvas.' If you are visiting Yellowstone and focusing on the Geothermal parts of the park on the Western side, Under Canvas could be a convenient option for you, although for the price, I would also consider just staying in the park as there so many beautiful (often rustic lodges) and upon checking just now, even for this weekend, most of them were cheaper than Under Canvas. Of course you can't compare the glamping experience but you should also consider how much time you have too as even from Under Canvas West Yellowstone, you will add an hour often times given the traffic getting in and/or out of the park each day and could just stay in the park.

I had not heard any complaints from our groups regarding use of any of the facilities. The dish/wash area was well kept and included a microwave. We were newbies to the RV scene but everyone one else in our group has had their fair share of that RV camping life. They remained patient when they realized we hadn't checked in while we had been physically present for at least an hour on the reserved site and our camper was on its way. Apparently we were happy campers and so were the rest of our group. Our organizer selected this spot due to the ease of fishing access for the kids, there was this little extended patch of land the kids were able to go to each day. They caught rainbow trout, the kids were proud and the ones who were too young but watching, well, it probably only ignited their interest even more. Our experience was good, everyone in our group of 30+ enjoyed ourselves and noted this is one of the better if not best sites they have had on their family camping trip.

The laundry room and bathrooms were immaculate. The RV park is behind the IMAX theater. We were given discount tickets for the IMAX movie on Yellowstone and coupons for free ice cream. We also received a $20 coupon off of any purchases made in the gift shop at the IMAX theater. These sites were well-maintained. They were gravel however they were very close together. Even though it was in downtown area it was very quite peaceful. We did have to disconnect our water every night due to freeze warnings, however, the RV park has no control over the weather. Refilled our tank with freshwater when they turned it on in the morning this allow us to have water to shower, etc.. My only complaint was that they offered Wi-Fi, but it did not work for us. We were in the back far away from the office, so maybe it did not reach us.

Here are my thoughts: Large drive through spaces approximately 25' wide and easily fit the longest of Motorhomes. Water, Sewage, Electric, WiFi Women's & Men's clean bathrooms with showers, including a handicap shower. Right next to Yellowstone West entrance. Walking distance to restaurants and general store. Very quiet at night and well maintained. Not many trees for shade. I highly recommend this place for staying in your RV.

I was very disappointed with the level of customer service and management responsiveness I received. On three separate occasions, your customer service representatives assured me that a manager would contact me regarding my concerns. Unfortunately, I never received a return call. Failing to follow through on promised callbacks creates a poor customer experience and leaves customers feeling ignored. During my initial conversation, a customer service representative explained that in an emergency, management would typically contact the customer directly to discuss the circumstances and, when appropriate, consider a partial refund or another resolution. Based on that information, I expected at least the courtesy of a conversation with management regarding my concerns. Instead, my attempts to communicate were repeatedly disregarded. On my final call, the representative answered in a way that made me feel like an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. Throughout the entire process, the manager never returned my calls or spoke with me directly. Regardless of the outcome, I believe every customer deserves respectful communication and follow-through when concerns are raised. Unfortunately, my experience reflected a lack of professionalism and customer care, which is not how a reputable business should operate.

After checkout, I discovered a $20+ charge on my card for a supposed "welcome gift box" that I never received and was never told about. According to the hotel, it included a small stuffed animal and some Snickers -- except none of it was in the room. When I called to dispute the charge, I got bounced between staff and management. They claimed they did an "investigation," but still refused to refund me. Charging guests for items they never received and then refusing to resolve it feels deceptive and extremely unprofessional. Advice for future guests: the second you enter your room, take timestamped photos or videos of everything before touching anything. Then immediately ask the front desk if there are any paid gift boxes or welcome items connected to your stay. If they say yes, do NOT go check by yourself -- bring a supervisor or manager into the room with you so everything is documented on the spot. Otherwise, you could end up being charged for something that was never there. Unfortunately, this felt less like a misunderstanding and more like a scam-style scheme hoping guests won't notice until they're already miles away.
