We had originally planned two nights and I wish that we had been able to take the time. The bathrooms are large and clean, as are the showers. One of the staffers offered to take my picture with my bike. At the exit, I had to stop to do some typical adjustments and the booth ranger checked in with me and gave me some tips about the road. The only confusing part was the trash situation. We car/motorcycle camp and they only do trash pickup at a certain time of morning. There are no dumpsters.

You have found your site! The important. For RVs or tents. $29 for out of state tent campers. Not sure about other fees, such as RVs and the 3 cabins they have. Sites electric and a shared water spout near each grouping of spots. Awesome, no fee showers with hot water and a heater. Very clean bathrooms too. There is even a firewood dispensing cabin! Yup. A vending "machine" for firewood that takes credit cards if you don't got enough bills to make $10. The firewood kit is legit and worth 10 bucks! The spots are definitely very close to each other, but with these views, you be a good camping neighbor and enjoy the beauty quietly. The sunsets here are just majestic! Worth staying the night for one of those alone I'd say. There some pretty easy and scenic hiking trails that even have a few benches scattered throughout the trail for the weak and old or fatties like me that need a break. Or you can just sit down to write a Yelp review instead to cover up being tired! ;) If you are a fisherman with a boat. They have a boat ramp and a day use area. This lake apparently is on of the best for cutthroat trout. One of the best in the west a certain sign said!

The rooms were spacious and super clean. The staff is super nice and the breakfast is delicious with a pancake making machine. If you have a family trip or just passing through, this is definitely a recommend. Can't wait to have more time to hangout, next time we stay.

-- Sawtelle Mountain Resort, Island Park, ID…read more Be careful with hidden charges here. After checkout, I discovered a $20+ charge on my card for a supposed "welcome gift box" that I never received and was never told about. According to the hotel, it included a small stuffed animal and some Snickers -- except none of it was in the room. When I called to dispute the charge, I got bounced between staff and management. They claimed they did an "investigation," but still refused to refund me. Charging guests for items they never received and then refusing to resolve it feels deceptive and extremely unprofessional. Advice for future guests: the second you enter your room, take timestamped photos or videos of everything before touching anything. Then immediately ask the front desk if there are any paid gift boxes or welcome items connected to your stay. If they say yes, do NOT go check by yourself -- bring a supervisor or manager into the room with you so everything is documented on the spot. Otherwise, you could end up being charged for something that was never there. Unfortunately, this felt less like a misunderstanding and more like a scam-style scheme hoping guests won't notice until they're already miles away.

Very family friendly spot with tons of stuff for to keep your kids busy. Gravel roads everywhere in the campground so my sprinter van got covered with dust by the end of our 2 night stay. All in all a nice clean spot with close access to west entrance of Yellowstone!!

If not right next to each other when we got there, we were not even in the same area together. Second we knew the cabins didn't have bathrooms or kitchens and we were fine with that but only having two bathrooms areas for 500+ camp areas was ridiculous. The one bathroom that was closest to us was locked. I consulted with the front desk and they told us that those bathrooms were broken. They had all winter to fix them and it was memorial day weekend and they still weren't fixed which was ridiculous. Third the mattress was so thin that we could actually feel the plywood underneath the bed. The cabin was very dusty and there were spiderwebs everywhere if you're going to charge 150+ for a cabin, please at least clean the damn thing. If you wanna talk about price gouging go inside of their store two small bottle waters and a small container of milk was 10+ dollars. Firewood was $12.50 a bundle the camp site right down the road is charging $7.00. The pool area had no lighting at all for when it gets dark. The building where they have the showers the floors are super slick not the best idea for flooring for when people get in and out of the showers. We'll never stay at that KOA again if you want to stay at a great KOA near Yellowstone, go to Cody WY. We won't be back to this one again!
