When you have it good you never value it till you have had awful. In 2010, I moved to Colorado Springs. That August I visited Denver and stayed at The Warwick Hotel (former Playboy Mansion). As a NYer I was desperate for a Carrie Bradshaw moment and the concierge told me to visit Henry's. For 5+ years I saw Brittany and then Anthony...amazing stylists. Life changes so I gave another stylist a shot at another salon and spent 4 years bouncing around....knowing Henry's was always amazing. I got my hair done by Michaela and WOW, seriously the best color I've ever had. I had some grown out roots and a yellow band of hair that wasn't bleached out quite as much as the rest of my hair, and she went in and did a reverse balayage which blended my roots, got rid of the yellow band, and gave me a much lower maintenance style. I love how it turned out. A beautiful ash color and blended so nicely. I've already gotten so many compliments and I will definitely be going back to her for future hair needs. read more

ABOUT to get Married and need a hairstylist to do your hair? DON'T GO HERE!! I probably would not go here ever again!!. I was in the salon for a bride Hair trial. I sent him pictures of the style I want which is just to leave it down with curls and a tease. Keep in mind I sent him pictures before we booked the appt and he says yes. The appt took maybe 30 minutes, top! After the appt I was very unhappy. It was no way the style I wanted. Instead of leaving it down with teasing, he put lots of clips in it to make it look like a half-do(which I told him I don't want it). As soon as I drove off, I went ahead and took everything down and cried while driving home. This is my wedding, and I was not happy at all. I ask if we can do a "do-over" and told him I was very unhappy, he says we can do it again but it'll be an extra $35. As a person, who works in the customer service business, this shocked me after I paid him the whole trial + day of wedding as well as gave him a 20% tip on the whole service. $150 + $30 tip=$180 I ask for my day-of wedding money back including the other 20% of of the service I won't be receiving. It took almost 3 weeks to get my money of the service I did not receive back. I wish I would've gotten everything back, because it was shit! (Excuse my language) All in all, DO NOT go to this salon or hair stylist, Rafael Castillo. You will feel robbed. There goes $90 down the drain for having someone do your hair that you literally took down after wearing for less than 5 minutes. I would make sure none of my clients go to here as well. read more

I came into Henry's Salon to get a pedicure. My feet were in really bad shape, I haven't had a pedicure in over six months. I have had several friends get their nails and toes done at Henry's and said both of the nail techs do a great job. Laura gave me one of the best pedicures I've ever had. My feet were so dry and cracked at the heel and she took extra time to scrub away all of the dead skin. She did not rush through the pedicure whatsoever. Let me start by saying that my stylist is perfect. They are so talented and my hair is everything I wanted it to be and more. BUT the front desk receptionist (there are two of them) one of their names I think is Danny. They are the RUDEST receptionists I have ever spoken to in my life. They were short with me when I was asking about the available parking (knowing it would be difficult to find parking downtown I called ahead) and on a couple of other occasions (different days) I called for other inquiries and every single time they seemed like they would love to be anywhere but there. When I arrived I wasn't greeted. As a matter of a fact the male receptionist looked me in the eye, then looked away. I approached him and told him I was early but wanted to check in for my appointment. It looked like it pained him to do something with that information. The lady that was the other receptionist (also rude on the phone) ignored several other people that were sitting in the waiting area waiting to be helped when she was behind the desk. It's unreal to me that a salon has so many talented stylists and it's a very clean and nice salon, but they somehow picked the only two people in all of Denver that seem to not want to be there. Every single day. I recommend the stylists here, I highly advise you to be prepared for an underwhelming customer service experience and a very unpleasant phone call if you ever need anything. read more

I just recently started coming to see Anthony at Henry's Salon, this is my first real salon experience and I really love it! He is great, I just sit in the chair and tell him "do what you think I should have" and he does! I have tried that at my other hair cutting places and they just trim what I already had. Anthony told me my hair was too long for my face and he cut quite a bit off, I have gotten so many compliments on it and my husband loves it so much that he doesn't mind the cost of the cut. The wash that you get here is incredible, you will have chills and your whole body will tingle from the amazing-ness of it. I swear, the price is worth the head massage alone! David has been cutting my hair for the last 7 or 8 years. I struggled finding a decent hair cut in Denver for a year or so before trying a barber shop that David previously worked at. I originally went to the owner or the barber shop and was very happy with the cut. Then there was a day he wasn't available and I needed a fresh cut for a job interview so I took a gamble and asked for whoever had an opening. This is odd for me as I'm extremely loyal once I find someone who gives me a cut I like. However, this time really wanted this promotion and really needed a hair cut. David was the guy with the opening and I have not strayed since. I moved out of state for a while and typically came back on really short notice. I'd call David to see if he had an opening and even when he didn't he'd typically stay late to get me taken care of. When I moved back to Denver it had been a few months since I had been to David and he had left the shop he was at. The person I initially spoke with didn't know where he had moved to. I waited a few days and called again and was able to find out where he had moved to. They were awesome enough to let me know where he had moved to. I've been going to Henry's for a couple of years now. While it's not a place designed specifically for men like the last place I understand his need to move on and have adjusted to the new environment. The cut is really all that matters and that is why this is a five star review. David gives quite possibly the best cut I've ever had. He razor cuts my hair, straight razors the neck line, hot towel after the shampoo and it's definitely worth the extra cash it costs to get your hair cut by this cat. It's always a challenge to find a great men's haircut when moving to a new town. When I moved to Denver two years ago, I got really lucky when I found David Holmes. He cuts hair like with a razor technique that's incredibly precise. The cut always grows into place nicely. I don't think there are too many stylists that can perform the razor technique like David. David is awesome! My hair stylist of several years moved out of state. I was in denial for several weeks before my messy long hair finally forced my hand. Luckily my brother's hair stylist David at Henry's Salon was available. I was not disappointed. David cuts men's hair (not sure if he does women's as well) and is a super nice guy. More importantly, he is very skilled and provided me an excellent cut. He doesn't rush and only schedules one cut per hour so you will get the extra attention to detail. As an attorney who spends a lot of time in court, I can't afford a bad haircut. I rarely leave reviews, but was so happy with his service, I wanted to give him a shout out. Also, the location is very convenient - near downtown, but not in the heart of downtown, and free parking. Come on guys, enough with the crappy haircuts. Highly recommended! read more

It's a shame Henry's only has 3.5 stars. Unfortunately it's mostly about bad hairdressers. Andre is who I see and have followed for a few years now. THE ONLY person I will see, ever again. I can't go on about how incredible he is, Denver is lucky to have him. Someone to his caliber should be in a much larger city (and charge a lot more). I'm not really a salon person. I prefer more of an old school shop that does a damn good job. Most salons are geared towards women, obviously, and most men feel a bit uncomfortable in your standard run of the mill salon. Henry's manages to bridge that gap. The place is bright, inviting, not to feminine nor too masculine, the right balance for both I see David. He cuts hair with surgical precision using both scissors and a straight razor. Not Wahl clippers but an actual straight razor. If your curious - go to Esquire and read about it. Basically people that have that talent are pretty bad ass in their craft. If David is not available see Ashley - she too has some mad skills and I followed both of the from Al's in Larimer to their new home at Henry's. The place has a good vibe to it.
