Madison's uncle dropped her off and both Madison and her uncle requested the same style she had before specifying knotless box braids. My granddaughter's hair is an unprofessional mess. The style was supposed to be blond knotless box braids, but as you can see from the photos attached that was not the service we received. I notified Mijo that the braids were different colors, and different sizes. As we are taking the braids out tonight, we notice that the braider cut her edges. The owner who is Mijo refused to correct my granddaughter's hair. The people working in this shop are obviously incompetent. Did I mention we paid $240 for knotless braids. Also we were charged the same price $240 for knotless box braids and this mess today. I asked about the price also, and the owner refused to listen to me. The first time I went to her i didn't know what I wanted done to my hair so I received a blow out. My hair is natural. The style did not last long but it was more my texture than what was done. This store has just about everything you could be looking for! They also had a sale for wigs (2 for $50) which isn't a bad price. I came in for my 1st consultation with 2 strain twist. Jewel was very friendly. She interlock and instant locked 1 of my twist. It was frizzy, but looked ok. I asked her to measure the loc so I could order extensions online for her to install. After measuring Jewel told me she would make them for me at a discount price. I agreed. The next week I returned and she interloc my 2 strain twist. The next week I sent her a picture of the look I wanted. The end of that week I returned for her to instant loc my entire head. The appointments were on Friday and Saturday. Jewel quoted me a price of $400 dollars. She suggested and I agreed to allow her to put several extensions in the front my hair. We were to finish the rest the next week. I came in on that Friday. She started the instant locs and installation in the front. I noticed that the locs were extremely fat, larger then I expected. I asked and she stated that, "It was the size of the picture I sent. She told me it would look better once she's finished. She noticed that she had installed the wrong color in the front. She asked if it was ok to leave there, I said no and she removed them. I had a doctor appointment and needed to leave (which I told her prior to my appointment). Jewel stated that she needed more time to do my hair. She knew that I had to be out by a certain time on Saturday. She convinced me return after my doctor appointment. I will just get to the point, after returning from my appointment, I paid her $310. I returned again the next day on Saturday for her to finish the instant loc. Jewel talked on the phone about her nephew having a baby and focused less on my hair. She knew I was pressed for time so I could tell she was rushing. Once she finished I decided to take a pic and send it to my man. He looked at the pic and to me I looked like bob Marley. Same question, why are they so thick. She made a nasty comment, "He must be fine". I was nice about it, but the way he looks had nothing to do with her lack of skills. Well let me keep going. She told me to let her take the pic. She flipped and flipped my hair and took the pic. The pic looked good. He text me pics of smaller locs. Well before leaving she charged me $200 which i ended up paying $510 opposed to the $400 she initially stated. And the work wasn't even done. During this appointment she tried to convince me that I was getting a bargain. Telling me that other people (naming shops) would charge $1200 dollars for this work. Fast forward. The next day I looked at my hair. It was goopy, sticky, and nasty. It was collecting lint and sticking out. I had to pen it to make it look good enough to go out. That's not including the puffiness. Well I text her after realizing how these thick extensions were larger then my roots. She called me after my text. She double talked....badly. When I told her they did not match my loc size she told me that my hair would puff up after the 1st wash, in her next breath she told me that the extensions would get smaller. Every answer to every question was the same, "when the loc matures it will etc". I tried to write down her responses to my questions, but she was so inconsistent until I became frustrated and throw my pen. When I asked for them to be smaller, she told me that was the only size she makes. I was like, what was the point of her measuring and offering to make them. After spending $600 (including the interloc) I wanted to continue with her, but my man convinced me to have someone check her work. So what did I do, I contacted the shop she spoke badly of. And guess what, they did not even do extensions.....she lied. But the owner was gracious enough to refer me to someone that did. She stood by this lady's work. She texted me her info and I booked a consultation. At the appointment I discovered that not only were the locs to thick, but they did not even match my hair texture. In back she missed interlocking several locs and she placed some of the extensions that were not my hair color in back. And to make matters worst, while Jewel choose to talk on the phone and then rush thought my hair, she left several locs untouched (still in the 2strain twist) and multiple that were half instant loc on the bottom of the loc and on the top near my root 2 strain twist. Well I contacted Jewel that day and told her cancel all future appointments. This was an investment for me and I wanted them done right. Since this ugly experience in January I have gotten them done by a true loc professional. They are beautiful.
