Being a Cali native myself, the name intrigued me. I later found out the owner is from Cali also…read moreand often travels to and from there to here. They prefer appointments, but will take walk-ins (be mindful that priority will always go to appointment clients) I wanted to do a walk in, but ended up setting a same day appointment, only 2 hours after I made the call, so it a doable wait time. I ate lunch and had a nap before coming in, so it was already leading up to a nice chill day. My stylist was an older lady, and she was very pleasant, quick nimble with the scissors and mostly styled my hair with just her hands (I have natural waves) and used very little product. And my hair turned out better than I expected. I basically got a wolf cut with soft layers. As we talked, I found out she's had a collective of over 30 years experience cutting hair both abroad and here In the states. I can really appreciate the service she gave along with her pleasant demeanor during the whole experience I had. My husband ended up going there to get his hair cut a few days later...and I was happy with what they did to his hair as well. Very clean and styled in a way that suits his face and head shape. Not just a cookie cutter hairstyle that looks the same on everyone. This one really flattered his specific look and personality. The only downside is parking on a busy day, the lot is small and right up near a busy street. So I understand why they encourage appointments, to keep the parking lot from being crowded. So it seems like they already put some consideration into setting up a good experience for their clientele. I look forward to visiting them again in the future for a color job I want to try. All I wanted this time around was a wash, cut and style and it was decently priced and professionally done in a relatively short amount of time. Always tip your stylist, especially if you can't stop smiling at what a great job they did. thanks for the amazing service!

As a businesswoman newly relocated from Europe, I asked about the pricing, as it was significantly higher than what I'm used to. I made a $1,000 deposit after the explanation and was ready to proceed. Later, I called to ask if it was still possible to adjust the hair color to match my twin sister's--something I explained was important to me. I requested to speak directly with the owner, Jessica, but instead received a call saying they had decided not to proceed with my appointment because I had questioned the price and the hair color. Despite expressing full trust in her professional judgment and confirming that I still wanted the service, she told me I was "not a fit" and abruptly canceled everything. This is not how you treat a new client, especially someone trying to settle in a new country and looking for a reliable salon. The experience was unnecessarily rude, unprofessional, and frankly, upsetting. I was refunded, but I will never return--and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone seeking respectful and trustworthy service.

The work was incredibly thorough and precise--every detail was taken into account. They took the time to talk me through the entire process, explained what we were doing and why, and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. She burned me multiple times and ended up needing advice about heat temp and technique by the manager. She also tried to post before and after results of my hair even though on the form I signed when I first came in I specifically noted that I didn't want to have my pictures on social media. Afterwards, I asked how I should upkeep it and she just said to wrap it. I asked how to do that and she said "I don't know." I looked like Kate Middleton with a bad blow out the next day. The next time I came to just get a trim. The stylist only asked one question about if I was allergic to rosemary (even though I already wrote that in the intake form). She also parted my hair directly in my face and left the store (like actually clocked out) while I was under the hair dryer and told someone in passing to ring me up in 15 min. Last but not least I got my hair finger coiled and to be honest I was for once extremely happy with the result. The stylist answered all my questions and I was left very satisfied despite taking three hours. The only reason I've come back is that I have a bday gift card I'm trying to use up. Otherwise I'd never walk in again. It shouldn't have taken me three different services by three different stylist to be happy.

They have really soft couches if you're there to wait for someone else getting their hair done, and just everything is so aesthetically pleasing. I showed up for a 15 minute consultation with Aloura. We went over everything we wanted and she gave me a quote of what to expect, payment wise. She did project a little higher in case we needed more products, which I appreciated so I wasn't thrown off at the final payment. Day of service, she was really nice, really meticulous, and very knowledgeable about the questions I had. She was patient, and she even brought over a little snack cart to choose from which was really fun. Overall, we're really happy with the hair and we would come back to see her specifically when time comes! Thank you Aloura!

I have been a loyal customer of Jovi Salon for over two years, returning regularly for appointments…read moreand trusting the salon with my hair. That history makes this experience especially disappointing. A few weeks before my appointment, I had my service changed to a move-up only because I did not need a shampoo. During that conversation, I was never told that I would need to arrive with completely dry hair. Had anyone explained that requirement, I simply would have come with dry hair. On the day of my appointment, I called the salon before leaving because I wanted to confirm that arriving with damp hair would be okay. No one answered, so I left for my appointment. While I was driving, the salon returned my call, and I answered. I explained that I would be arriving approximately four minutes late, which was still within their stated five-minute grace period, and I wanted to confirm that my damp hair would not be an issue. That is when I was told the service could not be performed. This was not a situation where I ignored instructions or failed to show up. It was a communication issue caused by information that was never provided to me when the appointment was modified. When I spoke with the salon manager, Leah, I hoped we could have a constructive conversation about the misunderstanding. Instead, I felt like I was repeatedly interrupted while she focused on explaining the policy rather than listening to my concerns. Although she ultimately waived the cancellation fee, she also informed me that I would no longer be allowed to book appointments at the salon. After being a loyal client for over two years, being dismissed over what was clearly a misunderstanding was incredibly disappointing. There was no effort to acknowledge that the communication from the salon had been incomplete or to work toward a reasonable resolution. This experience also brought to mind other concerns I have had over the years. On multiple visits, I was seated at the center table rather than in one of the traditional styling stations while paying the same premium prices as other clients. While I understand there may be operational reasons for the seating arrangements, it often left me feeling like I wasn't receiving the same salon experience. Additionally, there were many appointments where my stylist was working on two or three clients at the same time. I recognize that this may be common practice in some salons, but as a client paying premium prices, it often felt like my appointment was fragmented. Instead of receiving focused attention throughout my visit, there were frequent interruptions while other clients were being serviced. Over time, it left me feeling that the level of attention and overall experience did not reflect the price I was paying. I understand that businesses need policies, but those policies should be supported by clear communication, consistency, and a willingness to work with loyal clients when misunderstandings occur. Instead, after trusting this salon with my hair for over two years, I was told I could no longer book appointments because of a misunderstanding that could have been avoided with better communication. I appreciated that the cancellation fee was waived. However, I was surprised that instead of treating this as a misunderstanding and clarifying expectations for future appointments, the solution was to permanently refuse future appointments. I don't write negative reviews lightly, especially for a business I've supported for years. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling unheard, undervalued, and unwelcome. I hope this feedback encourages the salon to improve communication with clients and to handle misunderstandings with the same care and professionalism that customers expect when they invest in premium services.

I didn't leave an immediate review after my haircut because I wanted to take time and reflect…read morerather than write out of emotion. My hair has since grown back, and with clarity, I feel comfortable sharing my experience. I booked a haircut online for a listed price of $70. During booking, I shared a reference photo and explained in detail that my hair is very long and thick, and that I needed a stylist who would be patient and not rush the service. When I arrived, I re-showed the reference photo and reiterated what I wanted. Once I was in the chair, the stylist explained that she only has one hour per client. Despite this, the appointment felt rushed and disorganized. I know this because my service ran into her next client's scheduled time. That client waited for a period of time and ultimately canceled with her and worked with another stylist in the salon. While the stylist stated she only had one hour per client, my appointment ran well beyond that. My scheduled appointment time was 12:30 PM. I received a text at 11:43 AM asking if I wanted to come in early, and my receipt was sent to me at 2:13 PM. Even accounting for arriving early, this places my appointment at over two hours from start to finish--far longer than the one-hour window that was repeatedly referenced. I specifically asked for layered hair with shorter layers to help with the weight. Instead, I was given long layers, and my hair was thinned out without my consent ( as you can see the bottom portion of my hair is noticeably thin, compared to the top) . I didn't say anything at the time because the thinning had already been done and couldn't realistically be fixed. While my hair is healthy and grows back, the haircut I received was not the haircut I asked for. It wasn't "messed up," but it also wasn't what I requested. At checkout, the stylist leaned over and whispered to the receptionist, after which an additional $25 charge for thick/long hair was added. This charge was not discussed with me directly, despite my hair length and thickness being clearly disclosed before booking. After leaving a Google review outlining these concerns, the owner publicly accused me of never being a client and stated she stood by her stylist, without acknowledging the issues raised. Later that same night, I was contacted directly via text around 10:30 PM asking to "chat." That message was unsolicited and crossed a professional boundary, especially after publicly dismissing my experience. The outreach did not include an apology and felt more focused on protecting the business's image than addressing client concerns. I was polite throughout this entire process and even tipped my stylist. There was no malice on my end--just honest feedback. While my hair did grow back, not everyone is in that position, and an experience like this could be very upsetting for someone struggling with self-image. Ultimately, the lack of communication, consent, and professionalism--both during the service and afterward--is why I would not return and why I'm sharing this experience here for other women
