I give this place one star because I can't give it zero. I've brought my jeans here three times for simple alterations, and each time I've been told they can't help me. I only need the legs taken in or sleeves shortened. The service is rude. Yesterday, when I walked in with jeans to hem, she cut me off before I could explain what I wanted and said she couldn't help. not only does she seem to not want the business, but it seems like she is rather incapable of doing anything other than selling a hole in a sock. read more

I have been using this dry cleaner for over a decade and they are simply the best around. I have never had one single issue or problem. The workmanship is on alterations is excellent, our garments are ready when expected, and customer service has always been great. We moved away from Lake Orion but I continue to travel to Herald Cleaners for all our dry cleaning and alterations needs. 10/10 read more

Honestly the worst experience I've ever had at a tailor/dry cleaner. I brought in my bridesmaid dress for a wedding to get hemmed. She made the markings on my dress and then told me that it'd be the same cost as my dress. I told her it was out of budget and I didn't expect to pay the same amount as i paid for the dress. She told me I still had to pay for the time she spent on making the hem marks.. which I totally understand, however, she angrily erased all of the markings she made and still expected me to pay... I paid some of what she told me and took my dress. I wouldn't have minded paying for the markings itself but the lady was extremely unprofessional and rude.. i wish she would've been direct and straight forward on the price when I first came in and we could've saved her time and mine.. read more

I needed to get my pants tailored just a simple dart in the waistline before I can get an estimate the seamstress was rude about the price as if I could not afford an over price estimate. She didn't even want to chalk my pants neither less told me she knows what she's doing and I don't understand her and started to spell out dart to me. But wanted to give me the correct price of a dart but didn't want to cut any material because it was thick denim , once I mentioned I was a seamstress and I needed better precision . I left out quick I rather spend my money with someone who is kind and courtesy no matter the cost. She just didn't want to service me because she treated the other customers better . This is the best alteration lady in town! she tapered my sleeves on a blouse and they fit perfect. Once she gets to know you, all she has to do is look at you and tell what you need to have done. she does great work, I've been coming here for decades and will always come back. i highly recommend coming here. read more

I took a pair of leather pants in to have seams sewn as we were turning them into chaps. the seamstress just sewed the leather and liner together without folding it under to make it look nice. she made me pay in advance and would not even consider making it right. whatever you do don't pay her in advance as she has no interest in making it right. she should be embarrassed by the job she did. read more

I have been using Herald Cleaners for 10 plus years because their quality was good. I the last couple of years their prices have really gone up. During my last visit I was dropping 1 shirt off for laundry and the owner (husband) to me it was $6 and I had to pre-pay with cash. He said that he was the owner and this is what he is charging. I am done. Went to another cleaners in Bloomfield (Lasher Cleaners) and rate for one shirt was $2.99. I am done with Herald and it's owners. They need to remember who their customers are and how to treat them. I am voting with my dollars! read more

Although I have been going here for years now recently they have gotten into the habit of randomly picking a shirt I send in to launder and dry clean it. 2.50 vs. 5.95. I have told them before I do not under any circumstances want the shirts I bring in to be launder to be dry cleaned. (They are not expensive shirts and the cost difference does not make sense) When I inquired this last week why again they are randomly charging me extra for a dry clean the male owner looked at me and said "we do that at our discretion and if you don't like it go somewhere else". This last time, and I do mean last time, I went in I brought back two shirts I had picked up the day before with satins. He told me we don't get oil stains out. I asked why they weren't tagged or shown to me when I picked them up, why I was charged for the launder if they would not get the stains out. I asked for my money back and he said no. I have no complaints with this place. They are fast, affordable, and repaired two shirts with ripped stitching beautifully. I also like that they are an organic dry cleaners, without the use of chemicals. Overall I would say give them a shot, you shouldn't be disappointed. read more

Herald Cleaners is great. We have used them for dry cleaning and regular shirt laundry for years with good results. And when we had a tailoring emergency (holes in a suit just days before senior prom) they came through and made a miraculous fix that we were told by others could not be done at all. This is truly the best dry cleaners I have ever been too. The customer service is great and the workers are always so friendly! They are especially quick and always help me out when I need something cleaned or altered the next day! No other dry cleaners does that! I have gotten my wedding dress cleaned there and it came out beautifully! I only trust Herald Cleaners with my clothes and alterations. They are very detailed and spot clean my clothes! They are an organic cleaners and use organic dry cleaning. I love the idea of my clothes not being cleaned with chemicals and toxins. One word to describe Herald Cleaners: QUALITY. I have never been so dissatisfied. I brought in a dress that had a few basic stains on it. I didn't expect it to be absolutely perfect when it came out, but there were MORE stains on the dress when I picked it up than when I dropped it off. None of the original spots had been removed and there are now three oil like smears added. I am assuming the smears come from whatever cleaner was used. When I confronted the woman she insisted that, and I quote, "customers never see stains on clothes and want to blame her when they don't come out". I was very polite over the situation and my politeness was reciprocated was rudeness and denial. Not to mention, this was one of the priciest cleaning bills I have had to pay for a single dress. I received no apology or offer to try and fix the situation. I am truly disgusted with Harold cleaners and will never personally use or recommend it to others again. read more

Never Again! I have given this establishment business several times and they have completely failed. They have ruined buttons on my shirts and told me that they can't guarantee that they won't ruin my shirts when I bring them there. One of the owners also told me that it is not her job to educate customers on the difference between dry cleaning and laundering. She said they don't spot treat anything that comes in for laundering (pretty obvious, because my shirts came back dirty) and she recommended spending $6 per shirt to have them dry cleaned over the $3 per shirt she charged me for laundering (more expensive than any of the other places in the area), because they spot treat dry cleaning. I wonder if they even do that, because my husband took a suit there to be cleaned and the pants came back with a big spot still on the leg. As the other reviewers have said, the female owner is somewhat condescending. Very poor customer service. The ONLY reason they even got one star from me is that they do a good job pressing. Too bad that doesn't mean much when your clothes come back dirty and they stand there and argue with you trying to justify it! read more
