I had major hair loss around my hairline due to traction alepecia and I was assured that the surgery would be successful. I was forewarned that most women return for an additional surgery to achieve fuller hair but the first surgery would result in a good start. I never saw reviews/photos of other black women on his site but Dr. Feinberg assured me that he had provided this service to other black women. While I am not happy with my results I would never go back to him for another surgery. I was developing a receding hairline. It slowly reached the point that I was getting a few comments from friends. Did some research and decided to go with Dr. Feinberg because of his long-standing history as a pioneer in the field and the countless results of his previous patients. I was also very impressed with the facilities and his staff when I visited for a consultation. That was nearly 6 years ago and the difference was dramatic. So much so that I forgot how bad it was until coming back for a touch up to fill in the natural loss of hair that occurs as we age. Once again the entire experience has been completely professional and comfortable. 9am appointment, I arrived at 9:05 (hit some traffic) and was taken to the procedure room within minutes. Procedure started a few min later. Dr Feinberg is a very personable/friendly individual and made me feel comfortable throughout the process. Staff was great again and the private waiting room (where you go in between stages of the procedure) is a nice touch. At 55 I have a completely full head of hair that gets complements from the ladies and makes my mostly balding friends jealous! The results look completely natural and because I started before it getting too severe no one even knows I've had anything done. I highly recommend if you are on the fence to setup a consultation and see what's possible. I'm so glad I did (especially after seeing the pics from my 1st treatment). It's undoubtedly made a difference in my mental attitude which in turn makes me look and feel years younger than I am. Not only that we had left after waiting forever to be seen, after that we had been called immediately and greeted with an attitude. We had requested immediately our records be sent to the house. Called today to see if the records were sent, they were not and yet again greeted with a attitude by the girl at the front, called back and talked to another staff member, told them to have the records picked up. I would not recommend Dr. Feinberg for a hair transplant at all. I had a hair transplant done by him a year ago and am not satisfied with the results at all. He is a really nice man and the procedure and staff were great however do not waste your money. You can see the before and after pictures look the same. I think my hair actually looks worse then it did before I had surgery by him. If I can save one person from making the same mistake I did. This review will be worth it. Please get your surgery done by someone else. I had my procedure a year ago by him and already need to get another hair transplant done. I've been going to Feinberg my whole life and so has my entire family. So when my husband needed a dermatologist, I insisted he goes to see him. Feinberg had my husband go back 3 times, and still couldn't figure out the rash he had on his shoulders and leg. I finally gave my husband some prescription cortisone cream that seemed to clear it up. When my husband went to his final appt with Feinberg (btw -- still no conclusion on what the rash was) he simply told my husband that it was a mere coincidence that the rash cleared up with the cortisone cream and to continue to take some antibiotics that he had prescribed as a mere precaution. Was recommend this doctor by a co-worker for my skin. I had atopic dermatitis in other words, eczema. I went to him and the wait experience was HORRIBLE & he as a professional should feel embarrassed to have patients waiting that long. Appt was at 3:30, got there at 3:05 filled out paperwork, 4:00 pm still sitting in the waiting room. Wasn't called into the room until 4:30 only for the nurse to say "oh the computer isn't on" turns it on and leaves saying "it'll take awhile to boot" NEVER CAME BACK! I had to leave the room and find another staff person to assist me, which she did. Still no doctor it's now 4:45. At this point, I protested to leave. I guess the doctor heard me in the hallway with the MA and said "I'm sooo sorry please come in" at which time 5:15 I'm being seen. The actual patient-doctor visit was all of 10 minutes! He said you have acne not eczema, prescribed me medication, told the nurse to give me some peel mask and left. He was very nice and apologetic. He's the first dermatologist to give me something that actually CLEARED my face. It went from 10'being the worst to a 4. Amazing and was extremely satisfied with everything he prescribed. However the waiting game is not for me and will turn me away as a patient. UPDATE: Went for a follow up visit 4/18 didn't even get to see him because I was waiting in the waiting area 40 minutes and decided to leave after being told from reception staff that I wouldn't be seen no time soon! I went to Dr. Feinberg twice to create a pretty, soft feminine hairline. I explained to him that I lost my hairline through genetics and gluing on hair pieces for years. He told me, "I know exactly what you want". I put full trust in him. When I was done the first time, my hairline went 3/4 across my head and just stopped. After complaining , he told me that I had to do it a second time anyway. He had to admit that it did not look good and fill the space in at, no extra charge. I did go back a second time to finish creating this female hairline in the front of my head and , one year later I had a receding, horse shoe shaped masculine hairline. The same pattern he does on everybody, male or female. It was supposed to be two thousand grafts but it was nowhere near. It was a waste of a lot of money. As far as a dermatologist, he is wonderful. For creating hairlines I would NOT recommend him. He is not creative. I wound up going to Dr. Rosen in Montclair ,NJ. He did two thousand grafts in one session and I can see the creativity and what two thousand grafts should really look like. I am EXTREMELY HAPPY with my beautiful, feminine new hairline. read more

This review is for a male hair transplant. I am a 62 year old male who had my first hair transplant about 12 years ago, before robotics, and before hair transplants were a very common procedure. I found Dr. Feinberg randomly via the internet. No reviews back then. I was just very lucky to find him. Hair was very important to me. Even in the era of shaved heads. That's not for everyone, constantly looking in the mirror, thinking just stabilize and stop falling out, I was really bothered thinking that was the end of my hair for the rest of my life. Then I met Dr. Feinberg. During the initial consultation I felt totally confident in his ability and experience and booked an appointment immediately. He made a point of indicating he suggested a series of transplants over the years rather than a massive transplant. Some doctors suggest a massive and very expensive transplant. In retrospect a very good recommendation. I proceeded to have 3 transplants, about 1 every 2 years or so. I will say he is/was not a proponent of Propecia, but I asked for it none the less after the second transplant, and I still take it today. In my case some of the transplanted hair fell out after a few years. When I went on Propecia, not a hair in the sink. In fact I was given a generic once and within a month my hair started to fall out. Back to Propecia and not a hair in the sink. If I didn't experience that first hand, I wouldn't believe it myself. There are some side effects, but depending on your age, Viagra, another wonder drug, takes care of that. Not so sure you want to start Propecia in your twenties or thirties though. Back to Dr. Feinberg. I refer to him as Beverley Hills quality. No one who meets me ever thinks I had a transplant. He has been the most significant impact on my post 50 years of life. I was not going to be a happy person with male pattern baldness. I am so grateful to him. I am so lucky to have found him randomly years ago. He is one of the biggest impacts of my satisfaction in my appearance as I try to age gracefully and be the best I can be. Thank you Dr. Feinberg. I will forever be grateful to you. About 3 years ago, at age 59, I went back just to bring my hair line down a bit and had the robotic procedure. It made a tremendous difference in my appearance and the procedure is much more civilized. Although you harvest more hair with the traditional/old approach, I would probably recommend the robotic. You need a lot of confidence in your doctor for the old approach.
