I told her all my concerns (oily skin, hair that doesn't hold curls, etc) and she made sure it was all addressed. I had SO many compliments after my trial and on wedding day. My hair normally doesn't hold a curl but I wanted cohesive waves and they held the entire night without making my hair feel stiff. She was perfectly on time too. I was super important for me to work with HMUA who are familiar with Asian features. The studio and Caroline (the account coordinator) was very communicative and clear. I had a few changes in my HMUA. I booked Kelly a few months prior to my wedding and decided to have a HMUA stay longer to assist with touchups. Overall, communication was great and there were no hiccups. As for the service itself, I was nervous for HMUA because I don't wear too much make up and my trial with Kelly the day before my wedding at her studio in Pasadena. At the beginning, Kelly and I chatted about my skin and what I was looking for. I shared some inspo pics and she quickly grasped the ideas of what I was looking for. Kelly is not just a HMUA, but truly cares about those she works with. During my trial, she would checked in with me during the process - asking me if I was comfortable while working on my eyes. Furthermore, I had shared with her that my press-on nails were stressing me out (they kept popping off!) and Kelly immediately called her nail lady to see if she could squeeze me in for an appointment. Within 10 minutes, I was at the nail salon getting my nails done! The day of, Kelly and her team arrived earlier than expected. We had 4 bridesmaids + 2 moms scheduled for Kadet and Maddie. Many members of my bridal party had never gotten their hair & makeup done before; Kadet and Maddie were very skilled in understanding what each person was looking for and executing quickly.
