I want to just say that my whole life I've always leased cars because I'm terrified of mechanical problems once they are out of warranty. I've seen way to many instances of family members and friends getting screwed by a mechanic or at the very least overpaying for service. Since being referred to Jeff by a "car guy" I'm good friends with, I can proudly say none of the cars in my family are leased because Jeff's Auto is a place that I can completely trust to fix things correctly and for a fair price. When i ask about the charge I find out Mark forgot to put the oil cap back on and oil in the car when he did the oil change previous. So i paid money for them to correct their mistake. My son brought his truck in last week because the front when was smoking. He was told the calipers are sticking and need to be replaced. $500.00 15 minutes down the road, both front wheel are smoking bad! Takes it back in just to hear "I guess we could've checked the hose" then they charge him $265.00 for the hose repair. Wasted $500.00 on calipers not needed! I declined the repairs knowing something wasn't right. Next day at the barber shop in Woodstock I asked if they knew or could recommend an honest good mechanic. I was told DeCraene's. I called them the same day and Mark told me to bring my truck over the next day and they did a complete inspection and found nothing wrong which I was not surprised, but yet I always try to play to the side of caution. He promised a 5 day turn around on a repair and when he should have started the repair he decided to not until the following day. Which put him behind a hole day i figured this out by driving by and seeing my car sitting there and hasnt moved. I was borrowing a car from a family member. So i was upset. When I stopped in I asked why he didnt ship out the part. He said he was back logged. I walked out frustrated. He called me hours later and told me he wanted to charge me an additional 100.00 for shipping part over night. Now I was getting mad. A quote of 400.00 now is close to 600.00. i told him it wouldnt have been this way if he just shipped the part out monday morning. i said it was unexceptable. stop what you are doing and I will pick the car up later. This was an appointment and I should have been slotted into. it was made 4 days in advance. He has a problem prioritizing his work. He just said he was busy. When I orginally went to pick up the car before scheduling the appointment for repair he gave me a bill of 167.00 and said it took longer then expected to figure out what was needed for the repair. I asked what happened to the 75.00 thing. he said he would deduct 75.00 from the repair bill. Not the 167.00. Not sure how honest that is. I think the bill may have been inflated to appear its a discount. And bring cash because he charges a 4 to 6% for using your debit or credit card. And you will see a misc charge of 4.50 for misc charge.When I asked him what that was for he said for ink, paper, pens, etc. I said that would be the cost of doing business Matt. So bottom line is people. Matt is probably a good menanic but a good business man. I dont think he has a clue how to run a business. Or hes a guy that will nickel and dime you to death. I think he is in over his head. nice building. very clean shop. just needs some smart business attention for sure. and someone who understands customer service and whats expected. NOT RECOMMENDED.... I give credit when credit is due to business. I dont just write bad reviews. If you look up a week ago he recieved a good review from me. He needs someone to run his customer service and billing department like most of them do. The results I found a guy that will have it done in one day buy getting part from GM dealership. And cost only 415.00 out the door. not to mension I will not have to rent a car. They even offered to pick up and drop off. And still a Father and Son business. The overall cost was pretty affordable as well compared to other mechanics. Ken had great customer service was very friendly very patient and very well at explaining what's going on. He's very thorough and knows what he's talking about. I highly recommend if you ever need work done on your car to take it to this mechanic shop. Again this was by far the best experience I've ever had with mechanic work for my car.

The reason we hadn't taken it there in first place was her husband was trying to have it taken care of on Sunday. Ken and his staff, even though being very very busy, took my daughters car gave it a once over, put it on the machine and told her she was safe to drive back to Iowa. I have always had confidence and great service from LG automotive. This is just another example.
