I've been a customer here for almost a decade, but I am FIRMLY committed to no longer doing business with anywhere that charges this 3% fee instead of simply including it in their prices. Also, the 3% surcharge is not mentioned anywhere on the written estimate I was given, and wasn't point out until after the work was done and I was about to pay. Then, after I indicated that I wasn't happy, I was told by the guys working the desk that EVERY shop in the area is doing this. So I decided to call, and after 5 shops that are all within 1 mile of this shop, literally NONE of them are doing this. Don't get me wrong. I like the guys at Douglas. But Even more than that, I really don't like being lied to. I won't be going back.

My car ran before I took it here now it can't even drive and they only made it unsafe for the road. They installed a radiator and broke the fan. I have been a loyal customer for 8 years, i had a family member who was a mechanic for years and just recently moved away, and he would always use Cassidy and always recommend the place for me for tire issues. I got a new car about a year ago so it had been some time since I've been to the shop. i took it in last week for a simple tire rotation and balance something that would have costed me just under $100 has turned into a literally nightmare and costing me hundreds. Cassidy tires stripped my lugnut and claimed to me that the car came in that way, well that doesn't make any sense considering we were able to take the tire off by hand the night before and now the next day it's stripped and can't come off? Weird. Took it to another shop which confirmed with us that it seems like Cassidy put the impact gun on too aggressively and it stripped the lugnut... now i wouldn't have an issue if Cassidy would take responsibility for the issue but they refuse to, they want to charge us $175 an hour to fix a lugnut that they messed up... i am really not one to bash a place or leave a negative review but Cassidy tire has made my entire week and last week a living hell considering i had to get a rental car now because im in an out of town wedding this weekend. my car will need well over a hundreds of dollars in repairs to fix Cassidy's mistake, when they easily could have let me know they stripped it and taken responsibility. If you take your car here, enter at your own risk and just know that if they make a mistake they will not fix it. I also wanted to say that this shop is under new management and it's no good. I know for a fact if it was the same old store manager that I've always dealt he would have made it right and fixed the mistake that day. So I called Midas in Crystal Lake Saturday and spoke to Don (Manager) told him my situation with the brakes and mentioned that this is the only car I have and that I can have a friend drive me there to drop the car off. He was very polite / professional and understood and said I can bring my car in Monday and it would be done the same day. Dieter was at the front desk when I arrived Monday morning. Very nice gentlemen and explained what will be done with the car. I asked if we can have a few other things done to the car and he said no problem. They kept me informed on the progress of the car and the price upfront for the repair before they started the work. Car was done the same day and I picked up my car around 3:00. They really are the only trust worthy guys that I have met in this business. I have brought them a vehicle in the past, where I thought there was something wrong, and after inspecting it they found there to be nothing wrong and there was no charge. Other places would have found something just to make a buck. It's evident that these guys are more interested in my long term business and not the short term quick deal. I just got my brakes done here last week and their prices are much more competitive than other quotes. They got the job done in a reasonable time, too.
