I never leave reviews-this may be my first review ever, but we have been taking our dog to this clinic since she was a puppy, and she's now 9 years old. The office staff is extremely friendly and responsive. All of the veterinarians that we have seen have been very kind and treated our dog well, and always listen to my concerns-and I know that I'm a little bit of a helicopter pet owner! I am always impressed that the staff calls us to check in whenever a treatment is given. I have since moved away from Dundee but will not take my girl anywhere else, even if it is a 30 minute drive. Appreciate the care that we are given in a job that is very difficult and oftentimes thankless. read more

This clinic is so gentle, kind, and genuinely caring for the pets and owners! They got us in as quickly as possible, even calling to accommodate us on a cancellation to secure a quicker visit. They refilled our pets scripts same day. While continuing to stay in contact with us about our pets health and information regarding a referral to a specialist. They knew our puppy by name after just one visit in. They really made us feel welcome and wanted at their clinic. Dr. Christine has been just great all around for our boy. -I would say that prices are not "low" nor are they "high" they are middle of the road and you can expect to receive quality care for your dollars here. read more

I needed to go out of town for a family emergency last minute and needed to board my dogs. When I pulled their records, I realized my dogs shots were expired by one week. We are new to the area and our home vet is 7 hours away. I called Heritage in a panic, and they were beyond accommodating!! Our dog was having a sever allergic reaction. We scheduled an appointment for him to be seen today. When it was time for the appointment the appointment, we were informed that the appointment was for tomorrow and not today. My boyfriend spoke to staff 3 times today on the phone, each time he was told see you later on today. They claimed they had no idea who he spoke with. The staff was very unprofessional. Most of the Vets are very young, this can be a good or bad thing. I personally would like to see a more experienced staff. As soon as your pet has symptoms that do not fit a cookie-cutter description they don't know what to do. This year we unfortunately lost a dog at 7yo due to, what I feel like, was a rushed decision to perform a surgery before they understood all of her symptoms. I don't think it was negligence as much as just a lack of experience; the Vet was very nice and open with their thoughts about the symptoms and overall situation. They did consult another Vet on staff who as equally as inexperienced. The Vet was very good about following up daily when the dog got sick and it was obvious that they cared about her. It is hard to say if there could have been a different outcome under more experienced staff. The staff working the front desk are now usually disorganized, not returning calls, not tracking info in our pet's file.. Last year they even asked about making an appointment for a dog who was euthanized there weeks before.. that was pretty awful. I would seek an additional opinion before committing to any intrusive procedures and make sure to hold them accountable at the front desk. read more

I recently took my 1 year old Great Dane to Heritage Animal Hospital for Gastropexy & neuter surgery & was so very impressed with Dr. Shayne Wireman & the entire staff. I highly recommend them. They were all so compassionate & awesome to my nervous dog & made him feel so comfortable. They really care about your pet & it shows. Their prices are also very reasonable. Very nice facility, everyone was very polite and I'm sure the other veterinarians are great. My only advice would be to absolutely steer clear of Nick Vitale. We. put a great deal of trust into his "expertise" Unfortunately that caused a lot of heartache for us, made all the worse by how quickly he was able excuse himself from any accountability. Again, I mean no disrespect towards anyone at the vet I'm sure they're all great and I have tremendous respect for anyone who dedicates their life to helping animals. just speaking from the perspective of an animal lover who cares about my pets like children. I would give Heritage Animal Hospital more stars if I could.... these people are amazing!!!! We have an English Bulldog who was having her first litter. She ended up with 7 beautiful puppies but 2 were born with cleft palates. These 2 puppies were beautiful on the outside but in order to care for them properly, they would require tube feedings to avoid aspiration and aspiration induced pneumonia. We were devastated and we had to make a decision on how to proceed. Realistically, we would never be able to give them the care that they needed and deserved. I cried all morning trying to decide what to do... but then I got a call from the vet who delivered the puppies. She had gone out of her way to find a foster who specializes in cleft palates. I couldn't have been happier that they are now getting a chance... the world needs more people like this! We are forever grateful for their kindness. read more

My family has been taking our dogs to Heritage Animal Hospital since our oldest golden retriever (Lucy, 6) was a puppy. She underwent spay surgery here and has annual checkups with Dr. Earl Cornprobst (however when we can't see Dr. Cornprobst, the other vets have been just as great (Dr. Jennings, specifically). I felt moved to write a yelp review after my most recent experience with the Heritage staff when Izzy, our 6 month old golden, was scheduled for a routine spay surgery. This is the first dog I have raised on my own and although Lucy underwent the same procedure years earlier, I couldn't help but feel nervous for the little one. The woman at the front desk was incredibly friendly and kind. The vet tech came out and gave Izzy lots of pets and praise and began to explain the procedure/when I should expect to hear from them/recovery to me. Hours later, I received a call from Heritage. I was told that the spay surgery went smoothly however Dr. Amber Waun felt something in Izzy's intestine and, with my permission, wanted to further explore to ensure there was nothing wrong. I am SO glad Dr. Amber followed her intuition. If it wasn't for her, Izzy would have probably been at Heritage later in the week for having swallowed various pieces from her rope toys, grass, and plant roots which ended up in a large, tangled knot. I am SO thankful for the entire staff at Heritage Animal Hospital. It has been a few days since Izzy's surgery and in addition to her incision healing up nicely, she's back to being the playful, energetic 6 month old puppy she was prior to the operation. The professionalism, knowledge, and passion each employee has is something that is greatly appreciated from a service/consumer standpoint: from the women at the front desk who take care of paperwork - to the individuals in the operating room. You can absolutely tell that each person at Heritage loves what they do (I'm not kidding when I say they love it - I remember the very first time I took Lucy to Heritage, Dr. Cornprobst got on the floor with her and was petting her). Whether it is a routine checkup or a surgery, I wholeheartedly recommend and fully trust Dr. Cornprobst, Dr. Jennings, and Dr. Waun with our little furry ones! Its just an added bonus they're all MSU grads :)! read more

I love this vet clinic. They always fit me in when my pets are sick. All the staff are great but Dr Cornprobst is the best. You can tell he truly cares about the animals. He doesn't try to tack on extra cost. If my pets don't need something, he tells me. Unlike a lot of veterinarians, he fixes the problem, instead of half-assing it so you have to come back. He gives discounts when he can and free samples. I love this place. I recently moved an hour and a half away and I've still been driving there, because when your pet is your baby, you take them to the best. And this is the best place. read more

It has taken me a long time to get up the courage to write this review. I loved my pet fox Smudge to the moon and back. He was gifted to me by my husband when I was going through breast cancer treatment. Smudge was and expert on cuddles and snuggles and his antics outside made me laugh and kept my spirits high well into and out of recovery. Smudge practically raised our black and tan coonhound puppy. Jasper was the hound to Smudge the fox, the two were inseparable, playing digging, and the best part-snow! One winter day they were playing in tunnels of snow they had dug and we heard Smudge screech! We ran over to him and he was holding his front leg up. We rushed him to Heritage Animal Hospital where Dr. Nick examined him and took x-rays. Yes, Smudge had broken his leg. And of course it wasn't a clean break, it was the kind of break that you need plates and screws. That wasn't the daunting part. That part was to keep Smudge quiet and not using his leg before and after surgery. Well we converted part of the attached garage to a recovery room. Smudge was not happy but he put up with us taking him outside to do his business and not letting him play and run with his best friend. One day, well into his recovery I checked on him and he was sleeping. I decided to 'sleep while the patient slept' on the couch. The next thing I remember is my husband yelling-there's something wrong with Smudge! I ran out to see poor Smudge walking with his front cast and good leg and dragging his back legs! Again I wrapped him up and we drove to Heritage where Dr. Nick examined and more x rays. All test were normal. Medically there wan't a reason for Smudge to be dragging his back legs. Dr. Nick tried various treatments for the next 8 days, consulted with other vets out of town....but nothing helped. I knew what had to be done and my heart broke. I took Smudge out to the back yard where he could lie and smell and bite at the snow for the last time. I kissed his black button nose and shared my yogurt with him. I cuddled and snuggled and cried into his fur and he tolerated it all, almost like he knew this was goodbye. The staff and Dr. Nick were all as tearful as I was. They let my perfect little breast cancer recovery buddy cross over while I held him in my arms and sobbed into his fur and I felt him relax while his spirit slipped away. I could not have a better veterinary team trying to save my beloved Smudge's life. They were there for me when it counted. read more

Dr. Cornpost saved our cat's leg. After taking her in to see Vets in our area - who offered that the surgery would costs "thousands" of dollars, Dr. Cornpost saved her & the Heritage Animal Hospital became our permanent Vet-care of choice. I wrote the following in a previous review - I highly recommend Heritage to all pet owners in the area: Heritage Animal Hospital is the very best. We took in a feral kitten a few years ago who needed a lot of attention. Several Vets in the Ann Arbor area were too busy and too expensive to meet our kitty and family/owner needs. After our cat had an injury, we found out about Heritage/Dr. Cornpost from another animal owner who highly recommended their services. We could not be happier. Minimal to no wait times, the clinic is impeccably clean and neat, the animal Vet Techs are all professional. Dr. C always goes the extra mile to make sure the owner is happy and understands needed treatments. This is a Vet who truly loves animals - as does his staff. Dr. C is thorough and always provides individual time and attention to the animals & owners who come into his clinic. I highly recommend Heritage Animal Hospital for any animal owner, but particularly for dog and cat owners who have emergency care-needs or feel like they may be overpaying for services in the Ann Arbor area. It takes as long to drive to Dundee as it does to go from the east to the west side of Ann Arbor & back. Something else to keep in mind for those of you who love your pet(s). read more

I would never tell anybody to go there, I waited over a half an hour and my dog didn't need any shots, they just wanted extra money just to look at him. The old guy that took so long should retire and let somebody younger that can keep up work. The old guy was very angry because I asked what was taking so long, very rude and said my dogs where no good anyway, he only met the dog that died a year ago, the other vets took care of my other two dogs which he has never seen. So after 40 minutes I left and got a new Veterinarian. read more
