He got through the worst of it not without developing other complications due to his age. We had hoped he would pull through. In the end, we had to come to River Raisin to help with Peanut transition into the afterlife. They we're very understanding, empathetic, and help us with the first step in the grieving process. We really appreciate everything they did for Peanut and us.

Yet years prior they required us to have the test done. May not seem like a big deal but the tests were not cheap and frankly every penny counts. When we asked why they required the test in the past we were informed that it was "our decision" to have it done and that we "authorized" them to do it. Yet not once did they tell us it was absolutely unnecessary. We asked for a simple credit on future visits and were told no. Sorry I feel this is unethical and frankly we shouldn't have to ask if our pet needs a test when you mail us an vaccine card telling us our pet is "due" for said testing. I would caution people to question everything when dealing with this clinic.

Considered one of the better vets in town…read more An old neighbor used to work here. So it could be okay

The first two times I came here to give one of the stray cats in my colony medical care, they were…read moregreat--but I will not be coming back here again. Whoever was answering the phones on Friday July 17th at around 4pm should not be working at a job where it is important to have compassion for both animals and grieving owners. I called to ask about the details of a kitten that was brought into them injured as I was missing some cats from my stray cat colony that I take care of and genuinely love. She put me on hold to go ask the vet, and came back with minimal information that literally gave me no clue. So yes, I asked for more. Sue me for caring about animals. She replied with attitude, "I mean it was just a stray, it didn't have a microchip and it wasn't your personal cat so.... but I guess I can try to ask for more information if you really want me to..." I said, yes please, and I couldn't say much more because I was trying not to break down. That was met with more attitude from the employee. Sure enough, it did sound like one of my missing cats. And she did not spare me the details, she made sure to tell me it's intestines were spilling out, with attitude of course, and I really could have done without the visual. I simply asked if it was hurt, a simple yes would have sufficed. And yes, just because it's a stray, doesn't mean I don't care or love them. I cry when I see roadkill of any sort, I just have a heart for animals. There are worse things in life than someone who cares too deeply about animals but apparently this lady cannot handle that. Mind you I was kind, respectful, and patient the whole time. I regret not going off and driving up there to rip her a new one, because someone needs to put her in her place.

I agree with the previous review. This place is serious trash. I had a very similar experience, and…read morereceived a similar email from them. When my dog got very sick from an antibiotic, we were instructed to continue it. When I said that I would not, one of the vets said, "well you could run out of antibiotic options and at that point we may need to have 'that conversation.'" I said, "are we anywhere near that point now?" Her response, "no." Wtf?!?!? Animals are like peoples children. Can you imagine your paediatrician saying this about your child? In my opinion, this dr has no business being a vet.

Update: I email this place telling them all my issues and demanding a resolution to my problems…read more (Keep in mind, I never once used a bad word). They email me back saying they are refusing to see my animals anymore. Well, obviously I was not going to take them there anymore. But, considering I asked for and paid to have my dog's lumps tested, and received nothing more than "the stuff that came out looks like it may be this", my dog still has an ear infection (and even though I just had him there, paid $700, i am now sick, and am dealing with horrible health news, you still want me to bring him back in), and my dogs' skin is still irritating them, I want some type of resolution. Well, I guess I got my resolution. After spending soooo much money on "packages" full of stuff my dogs didn't need in order to get one thing they did need, being bullied by the nurse to do what she "thinks" needs to be done in regards to multiple surgeries (one surgery they don't even offer), being told by this same nurse there is NO risk with putting my great dane under anesthesia multiple times (which is flat out wrong), having absolutely nothing being fixed that I went there for, and the staff being rude to my husband, they told me to go somewhere else for treatment. Woe
