Great little space to start your tour - or, in our case, end your tour - of Heritage Square, Oxnard. This former house, now a lovely business, offers plenty of room to relax with a delightful beverage, some engaging conversation, and a bit of gift shop gazing. Hungry? No problem! The accommodating staff will let you know what they recommend for a quick bite, or a satisfying meal. Plenty of locals were here on the day we popped in, working on laptops, discussing presentations/proposals, and enjoying a book with their mocha, cozied up in a comfy chair. We were looking for a quick, easy bite and some caffeine before we moved to our next location. Splitting a ham & cheese on fresh sourdough, then each getting a bevvie(he likes a cup o' Joe in the afternoon, but I had a delicious spiced Chai with whole milk) was a perfect little snack to keep us revved up. What a lovely way to chill out, or be productive! Parking is free on the street, and also in a lot on the opposite side the square. I love that they also support other local, small businesses and artists with some of the items they have for sale. I couldn't resist a bag of kettle corn for just $6 and then read the label that it was produced in a fully licensed local, private kitchen. Lic and expiration date, as well as ingredients and location of manufacturer were clearly stated on the packaging, making me feel real comfortable about my purchase and support of local businesses. How cool to have a business that provides space for other, even smaller businesses! This was the first time my best friend and I tried this spot. I was so excited as I have seen pictures online and was looking forward to our first visit. The young lady behind the counter must had been having a rough day. She didn't smile or greet us. So I smiled and said hi to her. She had no personality at all. While we waited for our drinks we walked around inside and it's so cute and cozy and love all the fun little items to shop for! Thankfully our drinks were delicious. Wanted to try this place so I did. I ordered Salted Caramel Mocha and I was impressed how it awful it tasted. Way too much caramel. Couldn't enjoy it so I ended up throwing it away. Heritage Cafe is one of our favorite local spots to visit during lunch breaks. It has such a welcoming, cozy vibe, and the staff is always super friendly and kind. The coffee is reasonably priced and consistently great, and their freshly made cookies are a must--always fresh and super yummy. Chocolate chip cookies with walnut is my personal favorite. This might be the quaintest coffee house in all of Ventura County. It's nestled amongst the cottage like homes in the Five Points neighborhood near Oxnard Blvd on 7th street. When I walked in I noticed the hard wood floors, hand made gifts and sweet little coffee bar. I ordered my usual oat latte and was delighted to taste the familiar flavor of Ragamuffin coffee beans. Such great customer service today. The ladies working today were such sweethearts! I heard Heritage Coffee had a fundraiser for OPAC's free art programs. As a migrant/ESL student, I benefited so much from these free programs as a kid growing up in Oxnard/ Port Hueneme. I had to support as close to my heart! My iced matcha with strawberry cold foam was good. I asked for the matcha to be sweetened. My only suggestion would be, less water and more milk as I got whole milk and it wasn't as milky but still great. At $6.75, reasonable as I got the large. Also, especially if raising funds for our community! Not sure how long they have this drink but I really enjoyed it! A 5 as I love the space and I stayed there to read for a few hours. Almost finished my book. The girls were so friendly and I felt at home! They had a lot of foot traffic today which made me happy! Parked right on the street without a problem! What a cute little coffee shop at Downtown Oxnard's Heritage Square. Plenty of street parking on Seventh Street or plenty of parking along the cross streets of A St & B St. All the businesses around here are houses, but the place was easy to find. There are a few tables to sit at & also some comfy chairs and a couch by the cozy fireplace as well. The nicely hand written menu is up against the side wall. Was able to get my question answered about their Matcha Latte. Glad to know it's not already premade with sugar. Thank you for that. Ordered a regular Matcha Latte with an Egg & Bacon Breakfast Croissant Sandwich. As I waited, I took a peep in their store. Such a cute lil gift shop. Also had additional seating with a table & 2 chairs in there too. My order was ready in good time. They called my drink item & food item separately as they were ready. I appreciate the breakfast sandwich being packaged in a compostable container. Took my items to go. I enjoyed my Matcha Latte, as it wasn't scalding hot. It was just the right temperature & had a lite sweetness. The Breakfast sandwich was simple but good. Seems like they use the Fully Cooked Bacon type. But it's ok. Overall, I would come back to Heritage Coffee & try more beverages. Cute, small & quiet place to chill. The food is very good and I love the vibe of the place. However the service is very slow. I called for a pick up order for a matcha, a coffee, and 2 bagels. I was about 10 minutes away and it took them another 15 minutes to get everything out. One of the employees was also on the phone not doing anything but walking around the kitchen. I would say the food was worth the wait but it's not a place to get your coffee and food if you need to be somewhere right after. read more

This place is truly a gem. I don't visit very often because I only work in the area and usually only stop by when I don't bring own coffee. What I really like about this place is the building it is in. I think it used to be an actual house, repurposed into a coffee shop. There are different rooms to hang out in, and overall, it just gives off cozy vibes in there. Lots of interesting gifts and books representing Oxnard, to peruse through while waiting for your order. Don't listen to the older 1-star reviews complaining of the customer service. These people just need assurance that their money is going to a company that will praise them. Gag me. Heritage is no frills and at least 30% cheaper for similar drinks and better tasting coffee when compared to corporate coffee shops. Only wish they would offer cold brew! If you intend to tip and pay by card, let them know so they can turn the screen around to you. Otherwise the option won't be given. Give Heritage a shot! read more

Stumbled upon this place on Yelp and HAD to visit it. It is a quiet, quaint and small...house...lol behind Heritage Park. It can be easy to miss if you're just walking by. My fiance and I were very pleased with the set up because it felt like a very welcoming and warm home, not a coffee shop. I had quad shot vanilla latte and she had one of their specialty iced coffees. The vanilla was a little too sweet, but I may have just gotten too big of a cup. If you're trying to get the flavors and punch from the espresso, I recommend getting the 12 ounce. We also grabbed one of their homemade blondies and cookies and they were the perfect treat after a morning of shopping! Located on 7th street in the Haritage Square. I park on the street, but there's a parking lot nearby. Been here a couple of times. Warm and home-y environment. Family owned. This cafe is so cute. It has an airy and cozy feel to the layout. There's lots of comfy couches, tables and chairs along with a bookcase nearby a huge window. I ordered a matcha latte and a turmeric latte to go. The baristas were nice and got my order within a reasonable time. Both lattes tasted so flavorful and sweet when I shared it with my mom. Drinks are nothing exciting and the customer service has never been great. Like another reviewer wrote, the older lady who works there does not say hello and just stands at the register waiting. None of the other employees have been very nice either. I go to Dolce Vita in downtown Oxnard instead. Better tasting drinks, nice employees, and it's in the train station. read more
