Parking- plenty of parking due to the warehouses around Service- The baristas are exceptionally well educated about the coffee they serve. They're super sweet and add to the warm environment there. The addition of a little vanilla for sweetness was key. A matcha done well is a matcha I'd come back for every-time. Cheddar & Chive Biscuit - GET THIS! One of the best biscuits I've had in a while. My pro tip is to just make sure you get it warmed up. I took mine back to the office, gave it a quick microwave and it was on point. The biscuit was super flaky and buttery. The cheese and chive combo made this biscuit super flavorful and nostalgic. Who doesn't love a freshly baked biscuit? Im already eager to come back for another one and I have no doubt that the rest of their baked goods are probably equally as phenomenal. The biscuit is made by big cheeks bakery, a fan favorite. Found this place on Yelp while driving to Santa Ynez valley last weekend. The location surprised me a little and I thought we took a wrong turn but no... it's located in an industrial area near some offices and businesses. We got here around 7:30 am and there were quite a few people here already. That tells you something. And yes the coffee was really good. I got an iced matcha drink and loved it very much. The customer service was friendly and welcoming. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available. They do sell freshly baked pastries/croissants. What a find. On our way to Los Olivos for a day of wine-tasting, we stopped by for coffee and a bite to eat. I had the ginger snap latte which was creamy, foamy with the right amount of spice and sweetness, the hubby had a drip which was balanced and smooth. We split the caramelized onion and cheese danish and date scone. The danish was buttery, flakey and delicious, and the date scone was the sweet and creamy. The server was friendly and prompt, and the dinning are was small and intimate that felt like community. I look forward to returning another time we drive through Ventura. read more

Absolutely love this coffee shop! It's located in an industrial area, so its not somewhere you'd just stumble upon by accident. Let me tell you though, it's worth going out of your way. We had talked about trying Beacon for such a long time, so it was fun to finally make it over. We had no idea there was even a coffee shop in the area, so we never would have found it if we hadn't been recommended to it! Smaller shop but with plenty of coffee options and some tasty pastries. Great cold brew and a tasty matcha latte. They offer different brew classes that look like so much fun if you're looking to learn more about brewing coffee. This has gone on our to-do list in Ventura county. As I said, it's a smaller shop so less seating options. It wasn't full while we were there, but I could easily see it getting full. This location is very unassuming. I had never even heard of it despite having visited Poseidon right next door! I went for a visit and a latte to get a gift card for my kids teacher since this is her favorite spot. When I walked up, the line was out the door so you know the locals are big fans. I've been here about five times now. In the early morning, I usually drop my car off at the dealership for service and walk over here. Although it's located in an industrial area, it seems to have a loyal customer base. The service is always friendly, and while the coffee menu isn't extensive, it covers all the essentials, including various teas, hot coffee, iced coffee, and more. Today, I ordered a mocha coffee, an iced matcha, and an almond croissant. The coffee has always been great, and the croissant was absolutely delicious. We like to support a local coffee place when traveling. This place looked fun and promising. We waited quite a while for our black coffees. I'm sure their brewing method is great, it looked very fancy, but something to consider if you're in a rush and just popping in. I also found almost $5 to be pretty pricey for a 12 oz cup of black coffee. One other thing to consider is that although there are pictures and reviews that mention vegan items, they did not have any. I specifically made the trek here for that so was a little disappointed. I know that many places don't have vegan options but I feel it's important to mention since other reviews and photos make it seem like they do have some pastries. Found this place on a whim as I was heading to work and craving coffee . The service / cashier was supper polite, patient, and helpful as this was my first time and I randomly had to step out for a coughing spell that came over me. They suggested a Pixie Vanilla Latte (which tasted like an Orange Creamsicle!) and a Pixie Chocolate Latte (which I feel would taste like the chocolate orange Milano cookies!). I opted for the Vanilla Latte and it did not disappoint. I also ordered a sourdough cinnamon roll and personally wasn't a fan but maybe I should've warmed it up. My first visit to Beacon Coffee Company was this morning for their Chemex brew class. The interior of Beacon is small and cozy. I love the wood decor. The employees greeted us and were friendly. Once it was time for our Chemex brew class, we entered the back area. Our brewmaster Kelsey made our experience so awesome. She was knowledgeable and friendly. We loved the class. It was fun to learn about all of the variables that make a difference when brewing coffee and how each variable changes the flavor of the coffee. We were very caffeinated at the end of class! My Christmas tradition every year was to order a Peppermint Mocha from Starbucks, get disappointed because it's way too sweet and then order it again next year hoping it will get better for no reason. Thanks to Beacon, I can now end this fruitless exercise. Their Peppermint Mocha has a lovely minty scent and a rich taste without being too sweet. I also got to try their whole milk latte, which has a similarly rich taste and satisfying slight bitterness. This is high quality coffee prepared with care in a cozy, intimate setting. Stopped by Beacon Coffee during our visit to Ventura. It's in a business park so was hard to find at first, since we went in one entrance and had to drive around to search for the signage. The staff was super friendly, talkative and created a very positive and inviting environment. The coffee on the other hand was just okay. My husband ordered an iced vanilla latte with almond milk. They make their own vanilla which is great, but it was cloyingly sweet and they put too much of it in the latte where he ended up tossing it after a few drinks. I ordered a dirty chai and enjoyed it. Their chai had a nice blend of spices and the espresso complimented it. The up charge for non-dairy milk was $1.25 per drink which is steep compared to other coffee roasters and still disappointing to me that patrons have to pay so much for a plant based alternative. read more
