The woman who helped me over the phone let me know that the only room they had left was a king room with a fireplace and jacuzzi tub. The price was very reasonable, and at that point, I happily took it. From the moment I arrived, it was clear this was going to be a MUCH better experience. The lobby was clean, bright, and inviting. The same woman I had spoken with on the phone was also the one who checked me in. When she asked where I had been staying before, I told her, and her response made it pretty clear that she also knew it wasn't exactly the greatest area--or "hotel." Walking to our room, the hallways were bright and clean, which was already a welcome change. Then we opened the door to what we jokingly started calling the "honeymoon suite." The room was spotless, there was no stale smoke smell, and the door actually locked securely. It's amazing how much you appreciate the basics after a bad experience somewhere else! Our room number was 222, so obviously this was going to be great. If you believe in that sort of thing. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, and having the fireplace and jacuzzi tub was a fun bonus that we definitely weren't expecting when the day started. They also offer a complimentary continental breakfast with a nice assortment of mini muffins, bagels, toast, a waffle maker, and other breakfast options. What started as a stressful hotel situation ended up working out for the best. I'm so glad we were able to get the last available room here. The property was clean, comfortable, and welcoming, and the woman who helped me both over the phone and at check-in was wonderful. After the experience we'd had earlier, this place was exactly what we needed.

There's a brewery with great food on the trail and picnic spots on a lake at the park. The zoo across from the Inn is full of bike, walking, and hiking trails. Marilyn makes home-made breakfasts that are far beyond what you'd get anywhere else for $15 a plate easy. The beds and bedding are very comfortable and the rooms are clean. We had a great experience and we'll be back!

It is more like coming to a second home than a hotel. The rooms are clean, spacious, and comfy. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. We are a very large group. Some of us have disabilities that require special assistance, adaptive rooms, service animals, and caretakers. Some of us travel with aides or professional assistants/managers. This hotel handles it all with professionalism and calm. We use banquet spaces, meeting rooms, suites, hospitality spaces, and the restaurant. We take up most of the parking and if the pool or sauna are available, we are in my heaven! A few of us even use the workout room or hang out at the bar! This hotel keeps us coming back because they treat us well; they feed us well; they serve us amazing hospitality; and the fees are a great value! If you're in Marshfield, don't overlook this inconspicuous gem of a hotel! It's a part of the Best Western Group. These people put the "best" in hotel service industry! Unfortunately the low price reflected the overall condition of the place. The room felt run down and outdated -- nothing seemed to have been updated in a long time. The mattress was genuinely uncomfortable and made for a rough night's sleep. The microwave in the room didn't work, and the TV had channels that wouldn't load properly. Small but telling detail: the bathroom trash can just had a shopping bag lining it instead of an actual garbage bag. On the plus side, the staff member I checked in with was friendly and pleasant. But between the worn-out room and the broken amenities, I won't be staying here again. Next time I'm in the area, I'd rather pay more for a hotel that's actually maintained.

We brought our older kids plus our little kids and dogs, and were in town for a large sporting event, so we had lots of gear, etc. Pros: The biggest pro: Customer service is 10/10, with hands-on ownership! We had some special circumstances and definitely troubled them with questions and needs, and they were amazingly accommodating. It also snowed overnight and the snow was cleared in a reasonable amount of time. - Pet friendly - Affordable - The heater worked very well. We are still acclimating to Wisconsin winter weather, and I was so glad when the room wasn't drafty despite sleeping next to the window. - Good proximity to everything you need. Only minutes from Walmart and seconds from several other places. Cons: - The building is on the older side, so if you have asthma or respiratory issues I do not recommend you stay here. However, nothing was broken, all the fixtures worked fine and we all had hot water. - The rooms are on the smaller side, but it was perfectly sufficient for our needs and it's a cozy place. Overall I would stay here again for the convenience and accommodating customer service, and for being family & pet friendly!

The bed was comfortable - The window was open, so I closed & locked it and turned on the air which did put a slight musty smell in the room. I was told there was coffee in the morning and it was good but nothing else was offered for breakfast. The TV was so small and far away I could barely watch it. All in all not bad but not great. In a pinch I would stay again. Great staff is wonderful but rooms keep people coming back.
