The poor air circulation in addition to saving money, is no doubt generating revenue for pharmaceutical companies treating all of the mold allergies. * The Biological Indicators: That signature "clean pool" smell is actually the olfactory evidence of a thousand local toddlers using the facility as a public latrine--a chemical reaction of chloramines that serves as a warning to anyone with an intact immune system. At $7 a local kid for a whizpool, it's surely a profit center, and you can certainly smell the difference. * The Culinary Experience: Breakfast consists of "food-like substances," specifically chunks of microwaved egg that appear to be weeping for their own existence and pork sausages swimming in a reservoir of grease and existential dread. * The Lobby Ambience: The computer station is guarded by a territorial child-in-residence who has seemingly aged into the upholstery over the last two years, ensuring that "tacky" remains the primary aesthetic. * The "Coffee": A beverage so weak and feeble it qualifies as a crime against humanity. It isn't brewed coffee in the way that we've all come to expect; it's a hot, wet insult served in a cup, located--fittingly--in a completely different room to distance itself from the concept of actual food. I would give this place ten stars if I could! Sara at the front desk was so accommodating and sweet. The room was spotless, large, and so, so comfortable! Bed and pillows were very comfortable and we slept well. We skipped breakfast but it looked good and others were enjoying it. Stay here for comfort, cleanliness, and caring staff. read more

We've stayed at this property several times through out the last few years. Each time the staff was very friendly and helpful. But during this most recent trip, our housekeeper and the manager, Sarah, went above and beyond. Unbeknownst to us, we had forgotten a cell phone in our room when we checked out. I would give zero stars if I could. Did online reservation, their software screwed it up. The manager and desk person both admitted their software is goofy and does this type of thing regularly. Would not refund any of the charge for the room I never used on a night I didn't want. I have used on line reservation for hotels for the past five years and never had this happen with any other hotel reservation...I always used to stay here when in town, never will again. Won't patronize any other area businesses either as I won't be staying in Ladysmith, I'll stay elsewhere and drive. Hope it was worth it to the AmericInn. Not doing the right thing for the customer. I actually would have been satisfied with half of my money back, but they wouldn't even do that. read more

Loved the lodge/cabin look when driving up. The lobby reception area was very welcoming! A big beautiful fireplace with an awesome seating area again very welcoming. When I entered my room again I felt welcomed. The room is decorated perfect for the hotel. Very spacious as well. Would love to stay again. read more

The AmericInn hotel and suites is a clean, cozy, and overall great place to stay. We stayed for two weeks in the middle of winter on business and it was a good stay. Although there's not much to do in Ladysmith besides snowmobile, in the winter, the AmericInn provides a nice place to stay. The room we stayed in was a regular room (as opposed to a suite) and was very clean. The hotel staff is very kind and helpful. The only complaint I have is that there must be air in the pipes because anytime someone flushed the toilet in our room or in the room above us, the fresh water pipes were quite loud. Other than that, it is a great place to stay. read more

Hotel is the nicest in Ladysmith. Rooms are average. NO Elevator. They don't have very many user friendly outlets or USB outlets. Breakfast is dismal, go to Out. The pool area is nice. The front desk clerks are friendly. Don't miss the 11am checkout. They will knock on your door every 10 minutes and then bang their vacuum on your door until you leave. I left at 11:20am. read more

I recently stayed here and it was the worse customer service experience I've ever received. The hired staff was kind but Jim (the owner or the owner's father) was rude and belligerent. He told me that they hate locals and whoever rents to them again will be fired. If that is how they treat their neighbors, how do you think they will treat you? This is by far one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. Staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast was really good (waffles, eggs, sausage, and they even had oatmeal, bread/toast, and numerous other items). The room was clean and the bed so comfortable that I actually slept all night and didn't wake up hurting. The pool is clean as well as the hot tub and they have a kiddie pool with a mushroom waterfall in the center of it. Excellent! I highly recommend this hotel in Ladysmith and if I come back to the area I'll definitely be staying here. read more

Terrific value. Stayed here for a conference & was amazed by low price & how nice, spacious, clean, and new the rooms were. The window in the room opens which is a big plus for me. Clean & quiet, close to a lovely wetland park, grocery store, restaurants. Standard hotel breakfast. Ladysmith seems like a nice little town. read more

Almost impossible to get them to accept the AmericInn Corporate discount card when checking in at the front desk. It is a discount card provided by their own company! After much discussion, they applied it for the first night, then when asked about the second night we stayed, they said it had already been applied, but we were still charged the rack rate. It is a nice newer place that is clean and a pleasant stay, BUT if the main company offers a discount card for business travel, each location should accept it without question. I will not be returning. read more
