So many local establishments (and chains you never thought would come to Waco) have been popping up in the past few years and they've really been adding depth to this small, yet growing city. Wow! Stopped by here on the way back to UT after spring break. I got the honey lavender on a waffle cone; I love that they have unique flavors that have a slight kick. The honey lavender was sweet but you can definitely taste the lavender and honey notes singing through the creamy texture. The waffle cone is also amazing; I didn't think a waffle cone could be so light, buttery, and flaky all at once. It added to the ice cream and I'd highly recommend getting your ice cream on one. There's a lot that I love about Heritage, but their ice cream just doesn't do it for me. They have fun, unique flavors that TASTE good, but I find the texture really weird. It's sort of grainy and leaves a waxy residue in my mouth. I haven't had that problem with root beer floats, so I tend to stick to those! This place is right next to Common Grounds and has very similar decor though it is a bit more updated. The prices reflect the newer look and are a bit high for how simple the ice cream is and how small the scoops are. I do appreciate that there are options to turn the ice cream into a float, shake, or affogato though not every flavor necessarily sounds great for this. My favorite flavor that is consistently on the menu is the Brown Butter & Texas Pecan because of the great texture and subtle sweetness. My only wish is that there were a comprehensive list of flavors somewhere either on their menu or on their Instagram since the flavors seem to change so much with the seasons. read more

Came to Waco for the day from Houston and stopped here after visiting the Magnolia Marketplace. WOW...my family and I were blown away by the awesome Ice Cream. Probably some of the best, if not "the best" we've had in 18 years living in the US. The Strawberry Basil was amazing and the Coffee was my personal favorite. Furthermore, the thin crispy waffle cones were the best we've had in many years. Highly recommend you try this place. We will be back for sure. read more
