This place is managed horribly. It's a gamble on if they will be open or not. There really isn't much to aim for except sand since most of their distance flags are knocked over. They have so much potential here since there aren't too many driving ranges near it. The other perk is the beautiful view of downtown. Find some investors and build a huge 2 story driving range where the whole thing is covered and heated. Collaborate with the brewery next door and find a way to implement alcohol.

However, since some irrigation problems were solved the course conditions have improved dramatically. Fairways & greens are in great shape. My only complaints about course conditions relate to 1) some of the bunkers are not playable, with standing water & heavy, muddy sand, though that is a huge issue at almost every public course, and 2) the failure of golfers to fix ball marks on greens. The 2d point isn't the course's fault, it's the lazy and inconsiderate golfers who seem to be everywhere these days.

Even though some of us were skipping holes or didn't even golf (even though we paid full price). The employee accused us of hitting over 20 shots a person... Most hit par and the ones who didn't never hit more than 8. Never coming here again, maybe it's cause we had minorities in our group we were treated so hostile. Would not recommend having your wedding or special event here. Sorry we're not pro golfers, but with the extremely low quality of the course you would think that wouldn't be a requirement here. Employee could have asked the group behind us that was taking 2 minutes per hole to play through us instead of asking us to skip holes or leave without playing the number of holes we paid for..... The Lakes blows this place out of the water don't even bother coming here

The greens, t-balls and fairways are almost always in great shape. We were there for what turned out to be our final round of the season in late October. It was an exceptionally nice late fall day and the grounds crew was working hard to "blow the leaves" off the fairways and greens. As I've already said - this is one of my favorite courses.

My children are lucky enough to play in the Junior Golf Program with Hickory Hills since their…read moregrandfather is a member. They just finished their 4th and 5th years and I couldn't be more pleased with their experiences with Adam, Mike and the entire staff. Throughout Central Ohio there are very few courses that make a commitment to their juniors program. Most run a few days or maybe a week in the summer but Hickory has a program that runs 6 weeks with a club championship on the 7th week. The week following is an awards banquet to celebrate the children. Since the children are split into different levels they allow for various skill levels. Children are split into 4 different groups - 3, 5, 9 or 18 hole groups. While they are waiting to tee off, they are allowed to putt and chip at the range. This year, the club made even more of a commitment to the children and increased the amount of individual instruction each child receives. In addition to the instructions, the parent/grandparent that is the member also attends with them increasing the bonding time with their child/grandchild. It's a really special time to have with them. If you're considering joining a golf club and have children that would benefit from this program, I would highly suggest taking a look at Hickory Hills.
