They never made me seem like i was just another random walking in and it felt more like a general doctor office versus urgent care. I get the vibe most urgent care facilities want you in and out as quick as possible. This place made me feel like I was a human being. They listened to me, gave me a ton of feedback and truly tried to cover everything when trying to get me better. I had gotten really sick with that nasty whatever respiratory infection going around right before Christmas (oh I know, wonderful right?) fast forward to this past Wednesday Jan 14 when I went in. Mind you, I've already seen 2 other doctors and went to another urgent care prior to this. I'd already been on meds which didn't help. I hadn't been able to lay down to sleep in almost 2 weeks (I'd wake up coughing not able to breathe well). Long story short, I was super sick. I came in and was greeted by a wonderfully friendly staff. I'm sorry, I didn't get their names but they were wonderful. I was taken back (gosh I wanna say her name was Crystal? I'm sorry, I was still yucko and not remembering right) and immediately they got to work asking questions and truly listening. Some places make you feel rushed and cut you off. They listened to everything. I was given an xray, breathing treatment and a swab up my nose for testing. They also tried to offer a shot that would also help me, but I declined. They were super sweet about it though. Tried to persuade me but in a friendly way and when I still said no, they didn't make me feel bad about it. No judgment whatsoever. After my treatments I got some new meds and a plan. A special shout to Dr Michael Gales because he was one of the nicest doctors I've met in a while. I wish he were my regular doctor! You know how doctors offices say they'll call you back, they ACTUALLY CALLED ME BACK! Dr Gales called me with my xray results and even asked how I was doing after my treatments I had. Today, he called me again with my results for my nose swab. I genuinely felt like he cared I was getting better. Although I'm not all the way better, I was finally able to lay down to sleep. I'm telling you, it's the small things in life we take for granted. To literally everyone working at Summit Urgent Care, thank you so much. So very much for caring about me and trying to get me better. I wish I could write thank yous to every last one of you. I hope I don't need to see you guys frequently, but if I do at least I know I'll be getting the utmost support from a wonderful team. Would beyond recommend them to anyone out here. No .. you should go up to the ER instead was the reply. They do triage there. Yes I know. They do triage at all ER. They sweetly made it clear they didn't want to see me so I left. Look I get it, you don't want to stay late. But you denied me care. This was a pulled muscle and a cat bite not an ER issue. I was in a lot of pain and couldn't go driving around trying to find somewhere else to go. I spent hours at an ER for a non-emergent issue and paid hundreds of dollars. Well, we went ahead and took a visit to the labs and informed the urgent care that we did the tests and they came back saying that it's not covered by insurance!!!!!! The urgent care in a matter of 12 hours went back on what they said and told us the services were not covered by our insurance!! Avoid this place, this is a money mill, they just want to tell you that you need this and that and it's covered but in reality it's not. Horrible place. They will be reported for unfair billing practices and misleading the care of the patients.

PA Mavis truly listened to my concerns, took my pain seriously, and explained the treatment plan clearly. She prescribed an injection with a combination of medications that provided meaningful relief and helped me feel human again. As a PCP I found her rude, unprofessional, and dangerously haphazard with healthcare…read more I got a bad feeling when I came to my first appointment visibly injured--bruises, scabs, and cuts on my legs/arms/hands--and she didn't comment on it at all. It was due to a nasty fall, not serious, but I thought it odd that Dr Motlagh didn't seem to notice or show any curiosity/ concern. Not a dealbreaker, but she was one red flag after another after that. Also, as a new patient, she makes you sign a form waiving a right to legal action, forcing you through arbitration if she commits medical malpractice. She overbooks and under-serves her patients. When I asked about it, the nurse told me a wait of 30-60 minutes was STANDARD. Sure, that's happened sometimes in past clinics due to the dr giving each patient careful time and attention on their care...but she does not. My time with her felt like she was rushing me out the door. Other doctors will apologize for even a 15 minute wait--after a 45 minute long wait, Dr. Motlagh told me "If you don't like it, you can leave." I definitely felt like I was being milked for as much money as the practice could get, and not just overbooking more patients than she can handle. It's crazy that office policy is to book you to come to a follow-up appointment (with a copay charge, of course) just to go over lab results before you even get those labs done; every doctor I've ever had will email or call with the results; followup appointments are only for if something serious is found in the labs. Being kept waiting almost an hour for that ten-minute appointment is also very unprofessional. The office also made several mistakes with my healthcare, including not knowing why I was in the office, not consulting the info I provided about the medications I was taking when prescribing me something new, and rushing me to the point that I had to chase the doctor down in the hallway just to get her to answer a question about my health. I'm not surprised--she seems so rushed and behind that I don't have confidence she's taking the time to treat patients right. I've never had a doctor where I felt I had to advocate so hard just to get routine healthcare done right. While her bedside manner can be nice at first, she gets very mean-girl energy the minute you express an issue with anything she says or does. Her language and tone were shockingly dismissive. The rest of the staff is okay, though clearly overworked. I would literally rather drive to Santa Clarita or even LA to see a halfway decent doctor than go to Dr. Motlagh's ever again.
