It may be nice going to cool bars or breweries but one times you just want to knock a few back. The happy hour is cheap but it's never expensive any time. It gets a good amount of regulars. It's not like the hipster places where the tourists and wannabes come to be seen. This is probably the cheapest bar between Clintonville and Worthington. It's about $10 for a few rounds. When you feel like getting hammered why go and shell out money on craft brew or cocktails when you just want it to get to your stomach. It's easy to get drunk and easy on your wallet. The bathrooms aren't as bad as they may be. It looks like they get cleaned occasionally. The karaoke and trivia nights are classic times. I sometimes just want to hurry to get fucked up so I stumble into Brew-Stirs. It's a don't you judge me kind of place. The worst thing is the throbbing in your head when you rise up.

There's often live music and cheap drinks good to pair with a pizza. Bar is unassuming from the outside. Entrance is the same as Hounddog's. You actually have to go through the restaurant to get there. At night there's usually a security guard checking IDs at the point you go between. They also might charge a cover when there's live music. It seems most nights there isn't. That's okay because you can get cheap drinks, which helps with the pizza since that's kind of pricey. Overall it's the best of this cluster of bars. Each bar has it's own sense of cool. The other ones aren't attached to a kickass pizza place though.

A band was playing and there was a $5 cover. The drinks are just "okay." Not sure if it was just a particular bartender, but my cranberry/vodka tasted like it had nothing more than cranberry juice. So the next one was a double, and then tasted normal. But whatever. There was a beer special for all you beer drinkers. That particular night it was $2.00 amber bocks. Because part of me enjoys seeing a bar that's really that bad, but mostly because 9 times out of 10 the bar turns out to actually be perfectly fine and the reviewer is in fact one of those uptight snobbish types who wants everything clean, pristine, and high-dollar. That's the way it turned out to be with Tony's... there's nothing wrong with this place at all. The front part of Tony's very much resembles a 1950s style diner, down to the booths, the bar stools, and the photos on the walls. The back room has pool tables and is occasionally used for bands. The selection of beer on tap, while limited, is more varied than most dive bars. There's an oddly placed mirror in the men's room that, while using the urinal, I noticed gives you a view out into the seating area. Which means people in that spot in the seating area also have a view of you. Hopefully this is accidental and not by design. :). Be careful with parking, you WILL get towed if you park in the lot across the street. I had to parallel park in a residential area a couple of blocks to the east.

Dew Drop Inn is a classic dive bar. It's what one should look like. This is what one should smell…read morelike. It has the colorful clientele. Then there's cheap beer and whiskey. From the outside it looks abandoned. No clear signage or anything. Rest assured they are open. It doesn't look much better inside. There's a few TVs but otherwise there wasn't much going on. It was a late night on the weekend, and there was plenty of room at the bar. The drinks are amazingly cheap, and strong. I had a Jim Beam and Coke. This was only $3 and it was a good pour. An encouraging thing is the sign about not tolerating racist stuff in the bar. It seems like a diverse crowd. It's nice to know not everyone is backwards around there.
