It's the best way to know who's going into their apartment & whats going on. Keep an eye on the CNAs. It's awful when you see a CNA searching thru your dad's closet & items, even looking at the sizes in his hats. One CNA went into his room at 1am, turned on all the lights, woke up my dad & asked where his laundry basket was. We were misled on the care of our father. Nighttime medication given in daytime (nurse refused to give pm meds), showers 3x/wk (instead once or twice/wk), housekeeping 1x/wk (only came 2x in 8wks). My dad fell once in the main dining room & once in main hallway, since no one watches him. Broke his hip & femur. We moved our dad out of that overpriced apartment (awful smelly carpet) right after. Never again.

It is a comfort to know she receives three meals a day, and staff members to check on her at all times. It's obvious too that many retirement facilities are a business first and foremost and lack a genuine sense of passion and commitment. The Windsor is an exception to this rule. Upon entering the facility, there is an immediate sense of embracement by all, along with a feeling of being home. Every single staff member is engaged in rolling out a welcome mat. The staffs' passion and dedication for the Windsor and its residents is reflected in all that they do. For instance, the Windsor is a beautiful, clean facility. When touring, we could not help but notice how clean it smelled, and when we commented on it, we were told that people say that all of the time. It is so evident the staff loves what they do and are there because of this love. Of course, making this decision/move is still difficult no matter how incredible the place and staff are, but this is understood. Justin, Chuck, and Amy are there with you for every question, concern, and doubt. They are so professional, knowledgeable, and caring. The staff are very personable - night swing shift not as much so - a doctor prescribes drugs and nurses do the hour to hour day to day. There is transportation to town and a daily happy hour. How that works with the meds I don't know. But It is very expensive. Hope you save money on top of your ssi check. I Believe it's about $70000 a year to start. The building is stately, well kept, large rooms and lovely chandeliers. Out front there are pools and fountains with koi. Nice stately trees. The area has lots of things to do . Whole Foods is nearby.

I had a lot of problems with paperwork here they kept telling me I needed one thing after another…read moreand could never get it straight and Instead of giving me a list or sitting me down and letting me know exactly what was needed they kept making me spend gas and time going back to doctor to fill out paperwork. After speaking with insurance they informed me that they (nursing home) were the one's that needed to handle the insurance and all I had to do was get the medical forms filled out doctor. So they were wrong from the beginning.
