Hi All Hope this review is useful to those of you looking for a place to substitute as a Home for you or your loved ones. I have had experience with The Woods now for over 6 years since my Aunt moved in for a short period and now my Mom has been a resident going on 4 years. I am an only child and live out of Town and it's wonderful to have a place you can Trust to "Care For" your Loved one but it goes beyond that. It's not only care but the friendly service that make folks feels at Home at Heritage woods. From the Nursing staff and Aids, Wait staff, Maintenance Staff, and the Activities Group helping my Mom feel at home to even the front desk and the administrative staff being a part of their family , it's GREAT. Since I am out of Town the Activities staff has even facilitated ( beyond all the other multitude of things scheduled ) my Mom's use of FaceTime and Skype to keep in touch with me, her grandchildren and now even her Great Grandchild - Wow !!! Most importantly however she is safe and always under a watchful eye to determine anything that needs attention. Finally, the staff also not only focuses on their residents they are concerned about the keeping us informed on Events and other items like flu shots, financial issues etc.. This is great because I now can have a conversation with my Mom about what's going on even if I can't be there always for special events and it reminds me of things that need to be done on a practical basis. To say that we ( kids ) owe a debt of gratitude to the Woods' staff would be a gross understatement. Mother took a tumble and smacked her head. Subsequent testing revealed that she had been working on a dementia for some time and though we all hoped for the best, we couldn't ignore the facts. It became clear that Mom just could not fend for herself and that was the hardest pill for us ( kids ) to swallow. But... this was not about us, now, was it? We were advised to listen to the professionals, for this is their vocation and not any of ours, and that's what we did. We invested a great deal of effort on Mother's behalf and why wouldn't we? We dearly wanted this stage of her life to be as fruitful and independent as possible. So, here we are three years removed from that time and while Mom still has her days, she could not be in a more ideal environment in which to foster a high quality of life. This campus is extensive ( Mom likes her walks ), the facilities and activities are top shelf, and the chow is beyond reproach. Also, don't discount the proximity to highways, which is great because that translates into more frequent visits. Fond wishes to all who are faced with a difficult decision at a stressful time. To my mind, I'm convinced the entire facility is staffed with angels and we consider Heritage Woods a blessing to our family. Best read more

i have just placed my mother at heritage woods. i cannot say enough positive things about this assisted living facility. My mother gave me such a hard time about moving her from her condo. I have visited several assisted living facilities and can't say i felt comfortable about any of them. From the moment i walked through the the door of "the woods" i felt like i was home. People are very friendly and helpful, always a hello from everyone. My mother absolutely loves it there. she wants to know why we didn't do it sooner. Her room is very homey and bright. the food is good and there are always activities. i think we bother her when we come to visit as she is always with her friends and playing games. she has quite a memory deficit but is completely able to enter in to most all of the activities offered. i said to her; you seem better since you moved in here; you are not as nervous. she said to me " i feel safe." she keeps telling me i couldn't have done a better job in finding her a place to live. She has said this over and over. (probably because she doesn't remember she's told me 50 times already.) I could not be happier as it has taken a lot off of worry from me. My dad went to live at Heritage Woods in November. I thought the holidays would be difficult but he really enjoyed the season thanks to the festive atmosphere and the hard work of the staff. My Dad is living at Heritage and I am always secure that he is safe and well cared for. If ever something is a concern, I get a phone call. There are activities for him that keep him active and he is in a warm, loving environment. I am very appreciative of the staff at Heritage Woods. read more
