My a/c unit was not working. I bought it from Hermans plumbing. The technician tells me it is really old from 2008. I did not buy the house until 2010. Then he changes it to 2013. I am trying to find my purchase RECORD. He wanted to come inside my house after lying to me. So told them to leave. No repair. Guess I will be Hot until I find reputable company. I WILL NEVER USE HERMANS PLUMBING AGAIN!!! He stands at my door and tells me he can't fix it then I get an invoice for almost $900. Are you kidding me???? For what? He lied from the beginning. I have used Herman's plumbing and am generally satisfied with their work. Two projects I'm not happy with: Setting vanity: The did the plumbing fine but did not cut the base molding to allow the vanity to be set against the wall. There's an ugly gap there. Faucet for the outside of the house: Called them and described the problem. Faucet needs replaced, wanting one that needs only a 1/4 to 1/2 turn to fully turn off and on. It's what every other exterior faucet on my house is. Plumbers arrived, no such faucet on truck. Said they'd have to order one and come back. PITA. They did the easiest thing for them and put in a standard faucet. Won't be back. read more

I was charged $785 to replace a Delta 1400 shower valve/cartridge that cost just over $100 in parts and took about 45 minutes to complete. That pricing feels extremely excessive for the amount of labor involved. There was no emergency service, and the job itself was straightforward. I understand companies have overhead and pricing structures, but this charge was far outside what most plumbers quote for similar work. Horrible experience. They came and snaked a drain in my water heater closet in my garage. He worked for 5 minutes then told me I owe $199.00 I paid it and went back inside. 15 minutes later, I heard a loud noise in my garage and went running out to see gallons of water gushing out from the same closet. I immediately called Herman's again and she said she would send them back. The guy comes back, my garage has 2 inches of sitting water, he opens the closet door and said he didn't do anything to cause the problem. I started screaming and said I was going inside to call his office. I'm waiting on hold for 5 minutes and walk back out to my garage, they are gone. Supervisor finally answers and says he already talked to the worker, says they didn't do anything wrong and I better not cuss or he'd hang up on me. He sends out a 2nd crew to fix the issue and says he won't charge me for the 2nd visit like he's doing me some kind of favor. They reattach my expansion tank and leave me with gallons of water on my garage floor that have ruined a throw rug, Christmas stuff, art work etc. I left a message for the owner yesterday and he hasn't returned my call. read more

I had a leak in the yard next to the house, they dig for 5 mins and said yes you have a leak near the foundation of the house. (I dig it up) The plumber used a 5 foot or so drill bit and drilled away. The bit was straight up and down so no way to come out on the other side to reroute the new pex line To the supply line, After 8 hours or so I suggesed to change the angle of the bit. 5 minutes later they finally drilled though the foundation of my house. There labor is 189.00 a hour, 4-6 hour job, plus 100.00 or less in parts. 2975.00 is what they charged me, after they left I drained the water from the hole they left no less than 5 times. I have pics and vid. I called another plumber and found the shutoff for the sprinkler system was leaking really bad and probably leaking for some time, problem fixed. Should have been around 1200.00 max, senior citizens please be careful. Also I called numerous times to complain, they send another guy out and he said yes you still have a leak and wanted to dig up the supply line for 6000.00, they fixed nothing for 2975.00. We have used this company 2 times now. We had an outdoor faucet that had frozen last winter. The damage to the faucet assembly was actually up inside of the wall. Herman's was able to do a solid repair/replacement of the faucet assembly without having to remove the Sheetrock, making the repair process much easier and faster, thus saving money. They did give us a 1 year warranty on parts and labor. We were very pleased with the response time and their communication with us. Nate showed up on time and was a pleasure to work with. He showed us the damaged equipment and quoted us a total price for parts and labor. He was able to complete the repair in very short order. We could not be happier with the whole experience. Should I begin with the absurd price or bad service? For $170.95 for a less than a hour visit, you'd at least expect the plumbers to greet you, be familiar with the kind of hot water heater you have, and not make rude jokes. None of these was the case when Herman's plumbers visited my house. The trained plumber mentioned multiple times how this new hot water heater was not familiar to him. He tried what I had already tried to fix it and then called the Rheem customer service line. His sidekick, clearly untrained as he couldn't even operate a shop vac, proceeded to jole that they should go on lunch break while I was getting charged for them to wait on Rheem's customer service. In the end, their suggestion---that I paid $170.95 for---was for me to call Rheem customer service and do what they said. Waste of time and money. read more

After dealing with a backed up sewer line for the past week & trying different things to unclog it as well as calling a few different companies to get estimates on how much it would be to come out & unclog my drain, my neighbor who had just used Herman's plumbing about a month ago told me to give them a call as they had good prices and also offered a 30 day warranty on their work. I am so glad I did. They were out within the same day that I called & it took them less than 30 minutes to unclog my sewer line. Since I was a first time customer they also gave me 10% off of the total price. Terrible estimate that lacked vital information wasting my time. Service techs show up asking what is to be done then argue with me about the estimate and of work to be done. Their office couldn't explain why there was no communication or why the bid was missing information. They blamed it on the tech who did the estimate like that was going to make it ok. Don't waste your time on sub par professionalism. read more

I had an appointment and they never showed up. I called them and they told me that I had canceled my appointment. The plumbers finally showed up at the end of the day after I told them that I hadn't canceled. They were supposed to email me an estimate the next day. This was a second quote we were looking to get because of a back up in our shower tub. (The first company told us we had corroded pipes and we would have to dig up the bathroom floor and replace) The two gentlemen arrived and quickly went to work. They did leave to grab a part but we're back within 20mins. The clog was just plain and simple hair that built up over time. Pipes were fine and the shower works and drains perfectly now. More than have given them the benefit of doubt, but have consistently sent plumbers with questionable work ethics, which ultimately is Herman's. 1. About 10 years ago told me I needed a new toilet, still using that toilet today. 2. Billed me for a paid on spot bill two months after the fact. 3. Sent plumbers that destroyed a wall, took MONTHS of me calling for them to get it together and take care of it. 4. Charged me 4x the going rate for a job and 4x the rate for parts!! 5. I had a slab leak and had several plumbers come and give me prices to fix it, I picked Herman's because of price and years ago I had used them and was very satisfied. The next day after the job was complete I had a small back up from my washing machine at the other end of the house. I again called Herman's they sent a man out who said that because it was not still running it must be my washer -call appliance repair. I did and they determined that it was not the machine. I call Herman's back and the man came out and ran a cable down the drain from the roof, he said that the line was blocked and said we needed to send a camera down, the next day the camera crew came out and even though all the other drains in the area were fine they said they would have to dig up my kitchen floor they could not tell me what the blockage was they said they could not see and assumed the pipe had failed, when ask about price they said they would have to get back to me. Now I had just spent $3,000.00 with them for the slab leak and these two calls for the slow drain(Fri at Noon) by the following Tues I had not heard anything. I called another plumber and he directed his attention to the drain I told him about, He cleaned the drain out put in a clean out (at my direction) and was gone. I have still not heard from Herman's, to say I am disappointed would understate, Herman's was in the past a good company, but if this is the regular treatment they give to they're customers that time is gone. read more

They gave me a quote for $1495 to replace a water heater, stating that the vent would have to be replaced because it was not "double-walled". They looked in the attic, and I asked several times if they were sure and they insisted, yes - the venting would need to be replaced. I called another plumber who took one look and showed me visibly that my venting was indeed already "double-walled" - one vent inside another. The second guy charged me $1100. I want to thank Herman's Plumbing for being able to come out on the same day I called. After going through 10 (!) other companies to repair my A/C Herman's was the only one to offer same day service. The technician, Chad, was very nice. He showed me the malfunctioning part and explained what happened. He also checked my filters, fluid levels and other A/C parts for even possible future problems.
