Plaza Mariachi has something for everyone. I love how they host community events for all ages. I have attended a live convert or two there as well as salsa dancing. They always have very good music and there is plenty of seating available. They also have so many food, drink, and shopping options it's like an adventure all in one place. Their staff keeps the place clean by clearing tables, drinks, and spills. Considering the area there is security present in the parking lot and within the venue but I have never been there when anything has gotten out of hand so they must really be doing their job right. All in all Plaza is a vibe so if you are looking for something different definitely check them out. read more

Extremely disappointed. I made a reservation for 20 people for a retirement party. Very odd they make you buy gift cards for each person in advance. And not individual gift cards....1 digital gift card for all 20 people. The gift card wasn't even sent until I arrived at the restaurant and had to ask 2 employees where to find someone to help me. Turns out the person who handles these things had already left for the day! It took me and another employee calling and texting them multiple times to get a response and the single gift card to be emailed to me....so I can then forward it to everyone else. To make matters worse, this gift card is only redeemable at 1 food stand, the bar, and the arcade. This was absolutely not the way my team wanted to celebrate our valued team members retirement. Before discovering Trinity, I had no idea how rich and delicious Venezuelan food could be. After many lunch visits, I'm officially obsessed. Their cachapas and arepas are incredible, and the platters are always a great deal, you easily get enough food for both lunch and dinner. We love going to Plaza Mariachi for all of their events. In particularly, loteria on Wednesday nights. Its a free event that anyone can participate in no matter their Spanish fluency. I dont know spanish, (I'm learning) but they speak in Spanish and English so anyone can follow along. The games are fun and you can win some great prizes. The food is also delicious. Wow this place is awesome. We came here on a Saturday night and had a ton of different choices when it comes to food. They also had a circus of sorts with a woman hula hooping with fire, crazy!!' The food: We got a Barbacoa Quesadilla and a Chicken Tostada. The quesadilla was incredible albeit a little greasy. The tostada was also good, but wasnt as big of a meal as the quesadilla. Our server was super nice too, and was telling us if we needed anything feel free to waive her down and ask. The dessert: We tried both a sweet crepe and a mint chocolate chip paleta the crepe was filled with chocolate, strawberries, and walnuts. It was really good, but the paleta was the star of the show. This is such a fun place! It's a large market with various restaurants and lots of small shops. There's also live music often and we came on a Saturday night, so we got to see several different acts including some of the acrobats from Beyond Wings Circus, a fantastic violin player, and a Brazilian band. They play in the center of the market and the restaurants and shops are set up along the periphery of the market. We ate at Taqueria Hidalgo and our food was very good and very affordable. Parking is plentiful outside and there's also nearby restaurants/Bubble Tea/additional markets. It's a very fun area to visit and I highly recommend it! read more

This is a great little marketplace in the heart of Nashville off of Nolensville road not to far from the Nashville zoo. It's kinda in the hood, but I love that area because it has so many of my favorite Asian, Arab, and Indian markets. It's a melting pot of ethnicities which makes it very special in my opinion Plaza Mariachi is a huge complex containing little shops, restaurants, and Hispanic markets. The live music and entertainment is also special. It's a great place to go and try food and shopping from many diverse Latin countries. Go check it out and make a day of it. This place is THE BEST!! I never been somewhere so unique, different, but quality in every way. Food: it's a good court styled place, so you have 4 or 5 different restaurant options. El Gaucho Argentinian food is my favorite, but all are delicious. I think my favorite thing about El Gaucho is the sauces. The chimichuri is killer and just makes everything you put it on 'pop.' Bright and fresh, it's delicious! The nacho potatoes they have there are very different but in a good way. I think of them like potato braves (from a Spanish tapas spot) on steroids. The potatoes are perfectly cooked but have the sear and crunch on the outside that seals the deal. Entertainment: wow oh wow. This place has it all. Salsa lessons. Fire dancers. Aerial dancing. I came here in a Thursday for salsa dancing. If you go before 8 pm, there is no cover fee. Inside plaza mariachi is a shopping center with restaurants and shops and a grocery store. I got a delicious quesadilla and drink from the bar. At about 7 pm sharp, the salsa dancing started. It was great to learn something new! You first learn the steps by yourself and then you partner up with someone while they play music. I came with friends and they didn't feel like dancing so they just sat at a table and chatted and cheered us on. There is free parking and there's a lot of parking! read more

What a unique and random little market. It's made up of Hispanic and Arabic jewelery and clothing shops, an art gallery, couple restaurants, cafes, and random vendors, like ice cream. There's a tiny stage that features different styles of dancers each weeknight; the night we went, there was a belly dancer, although I could tell she was just faking it and had never really taken a belly dancing class. That was pretty disappointing, so I hope the other types of dancers are authentic here. This is a great spot for families to bring their kids and hang out. I'm sure local immigrants are happy to see some sort of representation of their cultures. It's a very small center, but it makes for a fun mini-adventure if you're in town. read more

plaza was way more than i expected, the building is so nicely decorated and clean, i heard it was in a old krogers so i was little hesitant to go but it blew my mind on how nice it was here. they have multiple food choices an open bar which i wish it had seating at but it was still a nice bar without seats. the food was great and fresh and you wide array of choices, and it's all cooked fresh to order which is always a plus. the service was good food took a little longer than expected but like i stated earlier it was cooked fresh to order so it understandable. they also have a market and a hot wing spot all in the same building and a couple of boutiques to look around in while you visit. over all it was a great experience and i will definitely be going back to try some other cuisines. read more

I absolutely adore Plaza Mariachi, and I hope Nashville as a city sponsors more cultural endeavors like it. My friends and I went on a Saturday during Dia de los Muertos this year. In the food court, there was a joyously raucous band, the well-known and well-loved Stephanie Urbina Jones and the Honky Tonk Mariachis. Stephanie made the whole food court feel like family as patrons swayed dancing to updated classics and children were serenaded by dedicated songs on stage. Afterwards, there was also a brilliant circus performance involving both fire and acrobatics. For an additional fee, patrons could enjoy a 9pm boxing match in the food court as well. This is certainly a hub of culture and the place to be on a weekend night. In terms of the atmosphere, I felt like I was back in San Antonio. Patrons stroll through pueblo-esque small shops and a marketplace before entering the food court. While modest in size compared to similar Texan experiences, Plaza Mariachi is definitely a new Nashville landmark everyone should make time in their schedule to frequent. The actual strip mall outside Plaza Mariachi hosts a slew of intriguing restaurants, like Win Bubble Tea and several other specialty dining experiences. I am personally partial to Taj Indian Cuisine where the owner also specializes in Indo-Chinese dishes on the menu. With a prime location amongst other dining experiences and a truly fantastic marketing/planning director, Plaza Mariachi is a must-see in Nashville. read more

I liked the plaza a lot in general and the music, but not the food at all. The plaza's ambience and stores I give 4-5 stars. Tacos Hidalgo disappointed me and I already left my 1 star rating. Paletas Tocumbo also disappointed me. I had a craving for some tostilocos and they gave me tostilocos with chaca chacas, very tasty but the peanuts were harder than anything. The cucumbers were almost given to me whole; sliced and unpeeled. The chili and chamoy were just enough for the cucumbers. My husband ordered a cup of fruit and at least they were more generous with the chili and chamoy but the fruit was ripe and had almost no flavor. The piña colada I ordered (non-alcoholic) was honestly the most disgusting thing I've ever had. La plaza en general me gusto mucho y la música, pero la comida no para nada. I found an amazing review about Plaza Mariachi and we were hooked! It was a Monday night and not very busy. There was still live music on stage in the food court area. There are halls that portray streets that run off of the food court. In these hallways are shops and art studios. Such a neat place!! For food we had a feast of oysters with a chimichurri sauce, salmon atop veggies, and an amazing dish that had potatoes, pico, steak and cotijo cheese all mixed together. After eating and listening to the lovely lady on stage (Luna Morena), our boys wanted to go to the arcade. They had a blast and blew through their $15 arcade card. The two oldest split the card and they got about 8 games out of it. The youngest played in the jungle gym. We are all looking forward to a return trip! read more

I went on a Friday so it was super lively. There was even an aerial dancer, someone who danced with fire, and loud live music. Like others have mentioned there's also a dance floor and things seemed kid friendly (around 7-8pm at least). On to the food: Lots of food choices from Mexican to Argentinian to sandwiches. You walk in, and it's like, a big food court with different vendors from different places. There's also a game room, and a bar. There is live music, and entertainment in the middle of the food court while you eat. There is also a grocery store inside, and different kinds of shopping stores inside this plaza.
