Well, we had a huge problem checking in after driving there from California. Our company paid for…read morethe rooms but they dont charge until you arrive and wanted the card. We had receipt showing it was paid. After 30 minutes, we were lucky another employees said put it on his card. The rooms have regular keys. Our room was very pink. The beds were on wheels so they moved alot. The pillows were paper thin. We had hot water but one of our cowokers rooms did not, the other room had to let it run 20 minutes to get hot water. They have roku tv but the wifi in not good so you cant watch a full episode of anything. You can hear everyone through the walls but it's a safe place so not a big deal. The couple who worked evenings and early morning were nice but the lady in the afternoon literally ran after our coworkers and my son yelling at them, "who are you, why are you here, what room are you in?" She actually went to their rooms when they were trying to go rest during lunch. She even went as far to go check photos of guest ids and had the wrong photo for the wrong room. All our workers had keys. She would say "I dont know you," I was like seriously, it's a motel, you shouldn't know everyone because we are strangers staying there. It was a trip of it's own at that motel.

It's cheap. The wifi is spotty but otherwise works. Otherwise run away. I will find an…read morealternative on my next trip through Petersburg, WV. Unfortunately there are few other choices. Fully renovated in 2014 but it would be very hard to tell. The plastic wrap on the box springs is special touch. The hot water can cook a lobster but fortunately you can attenuate it with cold water from some glacier nearby. I have stayed in hotels all over the world. Prior to this Tokyo has the record for the smallest bathroom; no longer.

We were greeted by a massive parking lot and colorful sign. When we entered the gift shop to buy our tickets for the caverns, we learned that this is WV's largest gift shop. How cool! Our tour started promptly (looks like they run every half our) with Austin as our guide. He was so friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging. It was so cool and spooky to be in a cave learning about stalagmites and stalactites. This is the perfect activity for folks of all ages, as it's not a heavy lift effort wise. The premises also have mini golf and "gold mining", as well as ice cream and plenty of gifts. Great place to stop and enjoy some time with the family! PS. Don't forgot to tip your fabulous tour guides.

There are some repairs that are needed in the cabin. The chairs on the porch were both broken. The chairs around the fire were broken. The wall in the kitchen of the cabin was coming apart. The dishes were put away dirty from the previous tenants. The Wi-Fi is horrible. I hate to complain, but these are simple things that should be noticed by staff and rectified. Would we come back, probably. It is a beautiful area. The caverns were very cool, and our guide Rowan was great.

A group of 16 of us booked for the weekend and I honestly can't think of enough great things to say. Seriously, everything about this place was AMAZING! I organized the trip, so I got to work with one of the owners, Jesse, to get everything set up. He was helpful, responsive, accommodating, and really kind. I organize a lot for my friends and myself, and this was one of the easiest. Upon arrival we were checked in by the other owner, Gary, who immediately made us feel like we were at home. He gave us a wonderful tour of the property and told us everything we needed to know for a wonderful stay. This property is nestled in the hills of WV and the views are STUNNING! Every space and room is beautifully appointed, really leaning into the upscale rustic vibe you'd expect in a mountain retreat. So many beautiful nooks and crannies to sit and read or play games or just nap. The pool and hot tub are gorgeous and Logan at the pool bar will take amazing care of you! They provide a complimentary breakfast of freshly cooked eggs, meats, and biscuits/scones. The lunch and dinner menus are varied and everything we had was delicious. Our servers, Rain (spelling ??) and Angie were stellar and the ambience was just perfect. Every single one of us left feeling refreshed and we were all sad to leave. Do yourself a favor and make the trek out to Lost River and treat yourself. This place is amazing and I'm already planning my next trip here with my partner.

A winding road through a rocky valley with a mountain stream that flows to the Lost River. Then you turn into the Guesthouse and the stunning main building and cute cabins are so perfectly placed on the property with lovely landscaping. Walk into the main lobby to be greeted by Gary, one of the owners. He was super pleasant and took us on a tour of the property pointing out the dining room, bar, pool (although it was still closed for winter), hot tub and sauna, gym, multiple media rooms, game rooms and lounge areas, and then our room in the Hobson Cabin. The room was well appointed and clean. The shower was beautiful and had great water pressure and temperature. The balcony had wonderful views of the parks close by. A country breakfast is served daily at 9 and is a great start to the day. The dining room is open in the evening for drinks and dinner with a menu for anyone! Gary and Jesse are always close by if you ever need anything and make you feel most welcome. We can't wait to visit again in the summer so we can make full use of the pool and enjoy some nearby hiking!
