I am disabled and there were no accessible rooms available, but because it was late at night, we had to stay here. The stairs to get to our room were difficult. They served breakfast, but the only tables they had to sit on were those high-top tables and I can't access their seats. This is not an acceptable lodging for disabled people unless they have rooms available on the bottom floor. read more

Nice size and clean rooms. Good parking. Near both Thomas and Davis. Walls are a bit thin and it seems to attract loud drunk people. That's a major downside. read more

I just got back from a 3 night stay here and while I ended up making the best of it, I did have a lot of complaints, but I'll start with what's good. The location is amazing, the beds are incredibly comfortable, the hotel and grounds are spotless, and 24/7 free coffee is great. Now on to the bad. The biggest disappointment of the trip was that this is the only dog friendly place in the area that isn't an expensive cabin and you can't even leave your dog in the room by itself to go outside to smoke a cigarette- there were 2 things my boyfriend and I wanted to do without the dog, go to Smoke Hole caverns (which doesn't allow dogs you can't carry) and go have a sit down dinner 1 night and we couldn't even go smoke a cigarette without having to harness her up every time. The other complaints are that a second floor walkup sucks with a ton of luggage and having to bring the dog back and forth each time, there wasn't a chair in the room which made eating uncomfortable, the shower pressure was so bad I couldn't wash my thick hair in under an hour, there was seemingly no cold water in the sink or shower, there was no clock in the room (which I still appreciate in the age of cellphones), the complimentary breakfast was basically just pre-packaged cake, the complimentary toiletries were worthless, but what was crazy to me was that they didn't even provide hand soap or a bar of soap at the bathroom sink, and, as everyone has said, you can hear everything through the walls. Through it all, I would stay here again simply because of the location, this is an area where you want to be outdoors most of the time, but I really would have liked to be able to leave my dog in a room that I'm paying an extra $100 to have her in. read more

What amazing stay, the hotel does not have elevator. but beside that great stay. The hotel is brand new, clean, staff over information of things to do in the area. quiet stay, breakfast, close to town. We had a great time, close to restaurant. We didn't stay here. We merely played mini golf. They didn't let us use the restroom after we payed to play a round. They suggested that our family of 5 use their port-a-potty. This town depends on tourism. There's literally no other industry in this town and they crap on the tourists... their literal life blood. Don't recommend. The locals won't like you so don't come. read more

We have loved the stay so far. Our large breed dogs were welcomed. There's a front desk lady that is beyond helpful the rooms are newly updated( I believe we are the first in the room she put in as we had to set up the tc). Microwave,mini fridge and plenty of storage. The beds are great like I slept 9 hours haha. There is some construction going on the property. read more

We had reservations for Memorial Day weekend. We reserved the ADA/handicapped room in April....six weeks prior to arrival. When we went to check in...they had already gave the room to another individual!!!!! We had NO accommodation for the weekend!!! Management was not kind...tried to give us a regular room. A room that that was not ADA compliant!!!! My disabled father was distraught. It was terrible. I would tell you to double check your reservations!!!!!(which probably will not help either because I called the night before and they told me that all was good). And, if you are familiar with the area, there are not many alternatives. Awful experience and service!!!!!! read more

The Inn looks really nice, it should be a 5 star rating but it has shortfalls. Nice bed, really nice tile bathroom but you can hear a lot of noice from other rooms. Room 101 is crazy with notice from above, e.g. guests walking in their room, sinks and toilet flushing, etc. The front desk says they get a lot of noice complaints, they are remodeling rooms, new floors and soundproofing. read more

It's a good place to stay overnight and is close to nearby attractions such as Timberline ski resort, Canaan Valley Resort, and Dolly Sods. The staff are very courteous and helpful. The price is good and affordable. The rooms are clean with comfortable beds, nice TVs with Direct TV, and the showers are refreshong after a long day exploring the nearby outdoors. Their new caboose featuring fresh hot meals is serving up some delicious options with outdoor seating! read more

Had a fantastic experience here! Stayed at the apartment room with 4 of my friends. Very cozy, very clean, very homey space. More details about apartment itself below. Sam, one of the owners of this great local business, was extremely nice and very professional! Best customer service. Made my friends and me feel right at home, and had long business hours to answer any questions we had. Friendly, welcoming, and professional with a clean and tidy room. The day after I left, I accidentally left behind a few important clothing items. I called the next day, and Sam said he would ship it back to me, and to not even worry about the shipping costs. What a great guy! Rarely do you ever meet a business owner as kind and professional as Sam. Came completely furnished with towels, pots and pans, cooking utensils, etc. Had a TV with directTV that has HDMI ports for gaming. Also had free, reasonably fast wifi for West Virginia. No maid service, but they provide vacuums and dish cleaning materials. The two rooms each had large dressers, a large vanity mirror, a closet with several hangers, and a bedside table. The beds in the room were very comfortable, and I heard from the owner (Sam) that they're planning to put Tempurpedic mattresses in the apartments (all the motel rooms already have Tempurpedic mattresses). Would highly recommend to everyone! read more

Pretty basic hotel. Close to Canaan valley and good if you want to visit Dolly Sods !! Subway is right across, so is a grocery store. Morning if you are lucky could see plenty of deer running across the road. Need to change carpets, otherwise OK. read more

If you are looking for a cheaper place to stay in the Canaan Valley area this is definitely the place to choose. We stayed here one night when we planned to do hiking at three locations in the area. It's a good central location between Canaan Valley, Blackwater Falls and Dolly Sods. There is a gas station with a Subway across the street and a restaurant right beside the lodging. Although a little dated and a few things needing repair it was clean and probably the cheapest place you are going to find in the area. read more

I've stayed in many hotels during my years of traveling for my job, so I'm a bit of a snob lol. This is a very small town motel with only WIFI as an amenity. For an older, outdated property, it was clean and comfortable. There is a small market and subway across the street. For those that like to ski and not worry about staying in your room a lot, this is a good place to stay. They actually have keys and not key cards here, but I felt safe as this property has inside entrances to rooms. If you are looking for a Marriott, this is definitely not the place to be, but for a comfy bed and shower....it's not bad and the staff is very friendly. read more

Nice views of beautiful mountains. The Cannan Village Inn is nicely placed across from a gas station where we were able to shop for food and midnight snacks. The Inn is secluded from civalization but it's a nice break from work and everyday life. This is a perfect spot for ski people in the winter. All in all me and my family had a nice week away but if your planning on going to Davis, WV plan your trip ahead of time because the is limited activites to do. Had a great time at this place! The people running it were still up when we arrived around 1130pm on a Saturday night. They answered our questions and even suggested things for us to do in addition to what we had planned. There's a mini golf course right next to the hotel and they set us up even that late on a Saturday night! Really warm people. Also, across the street from a small market/grocery store. read more
