There is a adjacent horse camp which provides a very aromatic environment if the wind is wrong. The horses actually do not come in the family campground they have their own area, but the trails are all around the outside of the campground. I would recommend this campground to any one who wanted to just relax and not join in the hustle and bustle of touring.

Very cool sight. There were a lot of great trails including a mile long one around the buffalo area, as well as a fully paved bike trail that goes through the woods. It was a lovely ride. The bathrooms left something to be desired as usually 2/3 toilets were clogged and the hardware in general could use some renovation. There are private showers in the back restrooms which were a nice change but having to continuously hit the water button (and it pauses every time you hit it) was a different, not so pleasant experience. Overall, this was a decent campground, fairly busy. A lot of the large buildings were closed or intended for renting out. There was no nature center. There is a lake which offer paddle and other boats for rent. There is also parking for horse & buggies away from the RV sites. Outside of the horse & buggy and a summer camp area, we never found the primitive camp sites but we didn't exactly go looking for them either.

The difficult part is being able to do a review on them since they are difficult to find on the computer. This one of the few I have found. It is easy to get to and has a large gravel parking area. The trails are well maintained with nice views. Some unique tree formations (spikes). There is no difficult hiking here. There are no restrooms. If you are looking for a quiet afternoon with small group or with family, try this park out.

The remainder of the trail is a hiking trail through grass plains and woods. It crosses the headwaters stream a few times and ends at an overlook that gives a nice view of the headwaters stream. This is a great place to take a relaxing walk. You can take your dog too. There is parking available. There is no great place for a picnic. The place is around 800 acres and the hike goes through only a small portion of it. There are great opportunities to see wildlife. They have done a great job preserving the grounds and the water. We have taken our dog several times, she has gone into some taller grass and we have found a couple ticks on her, so be sure to check yourself and pets after you go.

I've driven past the entrance for this park for a year and had good intentions of stopping. Today I ran into the one neighbor who doesn't hate me, and he told me I can get to the hiking trails from my neighborhood. Cool! I charged up my 1st gen iPod (seriously), dug out my pig wrestling sneakers (seriously), and my fanny pack (seriously) and off I went. Mengerson is owned and cared for by Acres Land trust since 1989. There are approximately 32 acres of forest and hiking trails are about 1.2 miles. This time of year the trails are ridiculously muddy, so I'm glad I wore my pig shoes. There were several points I just went off trail to avoid standing water, and since the trees and undergrowth is still bare, it wasn't too bad. The hike itself is easy and suitable for just about anyone. There can be deer seen (according to my neighbor) and all sorts of bird species. There are a few neat side trails. You are never far from housing, but it's still quiet (my iPod died in the middle of Bel Biv Devo) and once the trees fill in I imagine it's even more peaceful. Now that I know I can walk to a trailhead and not have to drive and park, I can say I'll be back frequently till the mosquitos drive me away. This is a neat little patch of forest and I highly recommend it. Plus its a pokestop for the three people who still play PokemonGo.

Unfortunately dogs are NOT allowed because they want to preserve the nature and wildlife. Plenty of parking spots. Trails are clear and easy to walk along. This is more of a walk than a hike. Trails can get muddy so recommend wearing boots. If you get muddy, there's a boot brush out in front where you can scrub your shoes. Don't forget to pack it in and pack it out! Even with all those negative things Lindenwood still looked pretty and I enjoyed the hike. I was very Underwhelmed by the pond. I expected the pond to be much prettier, bigger and nicer looking but unfortunately it was tiny and very dirty. At least there were visible tadpoles there which was exciting to see. I cannot wait to return to this place again once everything is fully regrown.

There's definitely something for just about everyone here, including a MASSIVE public pool for the summer months, beautiful trails, multiple playgrounds, picnic areas, scenic waterways, ball fields, and even a lovely covered bridge. You'll need much more than one day to see everything, but I was able to see a good bit of this wonderful community park, including hiking most of the VERY user-friendly Benjamin Trail, ending at the covered bridge (I think the trail continues, but I stopped/returned at that point) and driving around the perimeter of the park to see several other trail heads. There was a pretty good number of people here the day I visited, but it never felt overcrowded. Life's ups and downs have led me to do some serious "exploring," in every sense of the word, up to and including some of the lesser-known parks in the area. Tawawa was a WONDERFUL discovery, and I hope to return SOON!! CHECK IT OUT!!!!!

Came…read morehoping to see the waterfall but was debating if going walking around alone was safe or a good idea. It kept spitting rain and no one around .. didn't know if it felt peaceful or eerie. I saw cute yellow birds while watching from the car .. the dandelions were moving and turns out it was lots of yellow birds (i think American finches .. more than 10) . the rain stopped and i had decided to not try it and was just about to drive away when a lady drove up and started to walk by herself. I asked her if it was safe to walk alone and she said she did it all the time and kindly invited me to walk with her. We walked the paved bike trail by the river .. we chatted a bit and enjoyed nature .. the mature trees, birds singing .. in midst of the road noise.Turns out this paved trail is a part of Great Miami trail. I'm glad the nice lady came by and i got to explore here. Will definitely come back. Uhhh no didn't ever see the waterfall turns out it was on the other side of the road from the bike trail and the parking lot ... and it was closed due to corona virus.

I really enjoyed my visit to this park. First, I don't think many people know about it and so I…read morehad the entire park to myself. I was able to grab one of the limited street parking sites on Bunch Blvd near the north entrance to the park. Second, there was a small plaza with informational signs describing the park, the folks involved with getting it built, and general wetland information that was brief, but helpful. Next, most of the pathway for visitors is slightly elevated on a boardwalk. Even though there was disturbance in the area during the construction, the wetlands have now recovered and the elevated trail makes for easy walking without damaging the surrounding wildlife. The rest of the trail is equally broad and hopefully gives good enough views that visitors won't wander off into the prairie area of the park. Note that during my visit, the wetlands appeared mostly dry but green. About half way through the trail, a large wooden shelter was constructed with a slightly elevated observation deck that offers great views over the lowlands of the park. There are more benches available there and lots of shade in an otherwise open area of the park. I really appreciate that the area has been preserved as a beautiful green area that can accommodate both humans and nature. Review #1053

You can see the falls…read morefrom the bridge or theres parking to a viewing area that is short easy walk for another view point. there had been lots of rain so the falls was really moving and nice loud sound. There was another view but these ladies brought chairs and camped out reading and hogging the whole area .. rude? Didn't do any hiking .. just looked at the falls and left.
