I had a very disappointing experience at the Hermès Topanga store on July 9 at approximately 10:45 AM. There was only one older white female employee working at the time, making it easy for the store to identify who assisted me. My wife purchased a pair of men's sneakers online as a gift, costing over $1,000. When the package arrived, it did not include a shopping bag. I visited the store with my receipt and politely asked if it would be possible to receive a shopping bag. I showed her my receipt, explained that the shoes were purchased directly from Hermès online, and simply asked if she could provide a shopping bag. Instead of helping, she immediately responded with a rude, dismissive attitude, repeatedly saying that online purchases do not come with shopping bags and that the store could not provide one. After making me feel like I was asking for an unreasonable favor, she finally said, "This time I'm making an exception." While helping me, she rolled her eyes as she looked at the other shopping bags I was carrying. To make matters worse, she didn't even bother checking the size of my shoe box and handed me a small accessories bag that couldn't fit the shoes. I was in a rush to get home and prepare for a long drive to a birthday party, so I didn't realize the bag was the wrong size until I got home. By then, it was too late to return to the store. The issue was never the shopping bag, it was the complete lack of professionalism, courtesy, and respect. When someone spends over $1,000 with a luxury brand like Hermès, they expect exceptional customer service, regardless of whether the purchase was made online or in-store. Unfortunately, this employee made the experience feel cold, unwelcoming, and unnecessarily unpleasant. I have already contacted Hermès corporate and filed a formal complaint because this experience is simply unacceptable for a brand that prides itself on luxury and customer service. I sincerely hope management takes this complaint seriously. One employee with such poor customer service can damage the reputation of an entire store and drive loyal customers away. Unfortunately this Hermes location really dropped the ball. Sales associates were cold and unwelcoming. The only saving grace was the kind doorman. He actually took the time to answer our questions and spoke to us about the selection which is embarrassing for the sales associates. He did their job for them. The Hermes in Beverly Hills was the complete opposite. Everyone was kind, welcoming, and quickly brought out items for us to try so we could actually make a purchase. I don't recommend coming here if you're serious about making a purchase, make the drive to Beverly Hills instead. read more

fter my previous SA left Hermes, I decided to try the Woodland Hills location and I'm so glad I did. I happened to meet Ashley one day when I walked in, and she has been amazing ever since. She's kind, patient, and really takes the time to help without ever making you feel rushed or pressured. She genuinely cares, and it shows. Extremely Disappointing Experience at Hermès!! I recently visited Hermès to pick out sandals for my mom she's been wanting these for a long time, so I was really excited to surprise her. Unfortunately, my experience was far from what you'd expect at a luxury store. The gentleman who helped me (very tall, wearing a scarf and suit) was incredibly rude from the moment I walked in. He barely greeted me, and I had to call him over just to ask for help. I shop designer often, and while I know service can vary, this was one of the worst experiences I've had. He seemed annoyed that I was even asking questions and offered no assistance or hospitality not even a simple "can I get you water?" or a friendly attitude. A week later, I returned with my mom because she decided she didn't want the sandals after all. As we were looking around, another sales associate came over and rudely said, "Oh, we don't do refunds," and even laughed at us. It was humiliating and completely unprofessional. I ended up walking out because I was so uncomfortable. When I came back, my mom said the manager agreed to process the refund. The blonde woman assisting us was also dismissive and rude. She told me I needed the exact card, and when I explained I paid via Apple Pay and had the card on my phone, she rolled her eyes and finally said that was fine. Then she told us they would do the refund this one time only and wouldn't do it again even though we hadn't asked for special treatment!! The entire staff at this location was condescending, unhelpful, and completely lacking in basic customer service!! Hermès is supposed to represent elegance and excellence, but this store failed miserably. It honestly makes me never want to shop with Hermès again. I've been meaning to write this review for nearly a year now, after several visits to the Hermès store at Topanga. Unfortunately, every time I've gone in, the experience has been uncomfortable and mediocre at best. Every sales associates I was paired with were consistently disengaged, which made shopping here feel very one-sided. I completely understand that I might not be their "target clientele," but I've always admired Hermès for its craftsmanship and quality. Every so often, I like to treat myself to something from here, but it's disappointing when the experience doesn't match the prices I'm paying. This newest location is wonderful to visit, esp during the weekday; not crowded and more personal space to browse through selective items.. Friendly service & they always rotate a Kelly, Birkin, & Picotin on their front display upon entering. There's still a wish list for the coveted handbags.. The wait period is unknown, and based upon your customer profile history.. Knocked down to 4 stars bc of the wish list waiting period to get their Kelly; it's been a random and arbitrary process, which is ridiculously confusing, due to the constant inflated demand. It's all about WHO you know.. That's why everyone purchases through a reseller instead of direct via boutique.. Some of their other items sell out quickly, so you risk it being sold out if you don't purchase it while visiting in store. First time shopping at this Hermes location and it definitely did not disappoint. There was a brief wait (~10-15 mins) outside the store before I was invited in. I came here knowing what I wanted to try. I got really lucky because I was paired with SA Ashley who's so sweet and helpful. She gave me 1:1 attention and took the time to look for the items in the colors that I wanted. Ended up purchasing two items that I really liked. Can't wait to be back! It was my first time shopping at this new location, and it surely didn't disappoint! I came in and was helped right away. I knew what I wanted, so I told the associate and he went straight to the back and grabbed it for me. He opened the box to make sure I was happy with what was inside, and obviously I was! But it was a nice touch. He then gave me my space and let me shop around the store a bit after. I knew they were closing soon so I didn't take long and didn't end up buying anything else, but I am excited to come back and shop around more! Topanga Hermes is my favorite location for sure in LA! My SA Tomoko is very sweet, reliable and always gets me what I want, even when its super rare to get! When she gives you an appointment shes always on time, unless shes with a customer I will wait a few minutes but as long as she knows Im there shes always there to help me. This location has many items most of the time and if they dont Tomoko always orders for me, never have I had a problem getting my order and best part is it comes within 2 days! I love shopping with Tomoko especially with my busy schedule, I text her what I want and she gets my items shipped to me! Very thankful for her! The atmosphere of the store is very welcoming! This particular Topanga store has the worst customer service /SA's that I have encountered . They are disrespectful and the atmosphere is very unwelcoming. There is some sort of entitlement once you walk in there . These SA's need to be taught proper customer service they forget that we are all customers and you don't know who came in and wants to give you the business. This needs to be addressed immediately! We spoke with one SA first a male, he rolled his eyes and treated us like "peasants " he didn't want to assist us with buying shoes ,as if he is above that. We then Connected with Eva who was helping us with shoes , we bought two pairs and continued to stay in touch , she pretended that she was nice at first saying oh I'm not like everyone else ,I don't need you to buy a tone for me to offer you a bag. Mind you I don't n is why she even said that .She then would not answer much and when we would see her in person like to buy perfume or other items ,she seemed like we were wasting her time . We then came in again and stood in line to buy shoes and she pretended as if she didn't know us . We connected with another SA Tomoko ,who helped us that day seemed nice at the time. Few weeks later, made an appointment with Tomoko. We came 10 min early , she saw us and we told who ever was at the door we had an appointment so they told us go to the right side . Tomoko was finishing up with a client and we thought it would be our turn , she then ended up taking people from the walk in line . Again she confirmed our appointment, walked by us many times , spent over 35 min waiting for her and no one walked up to us to help . We ended up leaving she never came back to us . She text me later saying that they were backed up with appointments. That's absolutely not true she clearly took people from the line that didn't have appointments, she could have came up to use and said , hey sorry running late . But nothing . I text her telling her exactly how I felt and she said , sorry you felt that way( gaslighting). I will never again step foot into this Hermes in Topanga again. They are rude, degrading , and prejudice. read more
