I called Hernandez Iron Works, and owner Lupe got right back to me, which was nice. I had tried to call Oscar Iron Works twice and left voicemails but never got a call back. I arranged a meet time with Lupe; I do recommend that you text and/or call him with reminders, like I did. We managed to meet up, and he measured all my windows and doors for burglar bars, and he was able to give me a quote same day. Which was a much better price than American Safety Screens by far. I met a second time with Lupe to go over the contract, set the date for installation, and I put half down deposit. He & his team of 3 other men arrived on day scheduled to install and it only took them about 3 hours to do my whole house! I have a 1 story but it has a lot of windows, especially in back of the home. They also painted the burglar bars as needed to match my house. I am very happy with the results. Mr Lupe Hernanadez and his crew did an amazing job on the handrails on our patio. My husband and I are preparing our home to enable us to "age in place" and adding these rails was a critical step in achieving that. From estimate to completion of the job Mr Hernandez was always prompt, courteous and professional. The three rails are solid, sturdy, the exact color we ask for and the perfect dimensions. He even created an additional rail for our indoor stairway that lacked a rail on the landing area. We are extremely pleased with the attention to detail and the quality of the work. Called on a Monday morning to have Mr. Hernandez come out and give me an estimate. He said he would be in the area the next day after 4:00pm and would stop by. The next day at 5:00pm I called him to see if he was still coming out. He asked me if this was for an estimate for.. AND GAVE ME SOMEONE ELSES ADDRESS. I said no and gave him my address. He told me he is on his way... HE NEVER SHOWED! How do you stay in business with this kind of service?! Not even a phone call! Lupe Hernandez was professional and very helpful in dealing with the HOA of my business, which created a delay between the estimate and the execution of the plan for handicapped railings. I highly recommend Hernandez Iron Works for your iron fence and gate needs. They did a great job on repairing, reinstalling, and modifying my iron fence gate, which was taken down for constructing a pool and hardscape in my back yard. Work they performed: reinstalled iron fence posts, modified the gate to swing outward (reoriented the posts and gate, re-welded the plate over the latch/lock mechanism on the new outward facing side, installed a spring to allow the gate to self-close, cut the bottom of the gate to make it level and above where the hardscape is going in to prevent it from catching/scratching on the surface, and touched everything up with glossy black enamel paint. They were the the only one of five companies I contacted that promptly returned an estimate (within 2 days compared to a week or never for the others), which offered the best value out of the ones I did receive (two of the companies were quoting 2-2.5 times the cost of what Hernandez quoted), and they had me scheduled for work just a few days later. In summary, Hernandez Iron Works performed great work with excellent customer service and at superior value to all others. I will definitely use them again for any future projects. read more

Would not recommend. Completed work & received payment in full but the iron fencing with sliding gate which Is supposed to work with Solar Power Apollo motor using remote & security key pad to open/close which was all installed by Hernandez Iron Works has not worked or have they been able to fix problem. Lack of communication & trust on Mr Lupe Hernandez part. Still trying to get him to reimburse us in full. Legal action is pending. read more

Mr. Hernandez, (Lupe) recently installed some hand rails on our exterior concrete stairs. Rails were hand built as promised, primed and painted with high gloss black paint.
