I've gotten takeout from here a few times and my overall impression is that they're inconsistent. In previous experiences my burger has been fantastic with creative, gourmet options available. I love their peach milkshake that comes with chunky pieces of real fruit. I have also tried the blueberry which also had fresh fruit, but I enjoyed it less than the peach. Their menu has many options - chicken, fish, plant based entrees, salads...you name it. My experience today was lackluster. I ordered online, Pick-Up time given was 45 min. Fine. I get there, food has obviously sat for awhile as all burgers and fries were cold. Today I had their "smash" burger which seemed like code for thin frozen patty. I had fries that were really crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. Good. But arrived cold and very very salty. Bad. My combo also came with a candy cane shake...that tasted like peach and nothing like candy cane. Another inconsistency is pricing. My combo (burger, fries & shake) was $15. The other burger not on special was $11 and their ice-cream was $9. I think the game plan here should be to a) order at the counter so you receive you meal as soon as it's ready and b) stick to their specials for best value. read more

Never been here before. Chose this place based on who they say they are. Traceable meat, no antibiotics etc. it's a Friday night at 6pm and not a sole in this place. This should have been my first red flag. Then the girl taking our order, then went to the back and cooked our meal...had to stop cooking to come out and take another order...and then back to cook. Second red flag with one employee working on a Friday night. When I bit into my 100% Angus burger that cost me $20 with poutine...I said to my husband, it tastes fake. I made him cleanse his palette, he took a bite and immediately said "cafeteria meat"! 3rd red flag. I had two bites and never finished it. He had the chicken and it was dry and could tell reheated. First and last time here. Cost $40 for this crap, in times we all struggle to buy food. read more

Don't get fooled by their low price point banner. It is tasteless, less than clean, and just yuck! Buffets tend to have something we will end up liking, but not here. Avoid, food is really bland and pretty gross. Not sure why there is so much love for the place. Service was also very average. Left feeling very disappointed. read more

First time at hero burger ever. I've seen them around in Toronto but I didn't know one was coming to London. Was on my way for lunch and saw signs so i thought I'd try it out! Menu is really vast, lots of options. They even have a dedicated toaster and fryer for gluten free options. I had a 4oz burger with cheddar, guacamole, lettuce, tomato and onion. The burger was the right size for me, you can also get a 6 or 8oz option. The burger was tastey and had the right amount of toppings. I had mine with a side of sweet potato fries, they were hot and crispy. Considering they just opened the service was quick and they delivered to my table. They have wifi but you have to ask for a password. It's a bit pricey, but for a treat it's a nice place! read more

Two stars is generous for this place, simply because the burger was okay, but priced and advertised as if it was made of gold. To start with, two burgers 6oz, both with cheese, one with bacon the other an egg. Both were meals, drink and a fries. $29 are you freaking serious! Decided to try this place for dinner tonight for the first time . They were very friendly and thorough and explained everything on the menu . We ordered 2 burgers , an ice cream and fries . My burger was made wrong which was a bit disappointing when paying $30 for 2 and we were over charged for toppings as it was trumped in wrong . We both felt quite sick after eating here and felt that it was a bit too greasy ( could be to do with them adding too much cheese to my burger ) . Stopped in for lunch, wanted to try them for a while now/ since I seen them open. While waiting in line, I looked at the menu trying to figure what I wanted and all I could think was man this isn't gonna be a cheap lunch but who knows the food could be really good, which it wasn't too bad, I had the blue-moon burger with fries and strawberry shake. The burger itself was okay/not bad not worth $8 for the burger seeing as it seemed kinda old to me, fries were fresh and hot and the strawberry shake was pretty good for being made with soft serve ice cream. Tried here for the first time today. We made our own burgers with beef (30$ for two of us). We did not like the quality of the meat, it was too greasy and had a texture like cheap burgers. We were exited because of the certified traceable beef but dos not worth it if they serve it with this quality. Don't waste your time and money, even McDonald's is a better choice. read more

Despite all the negative reviews. I decided to give this place a chance. The store wasn't very busy around noon on a Tuesday. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. I bought the blue moon and the burger was not bad. it wasn't amazing, but the ingredients were fresh and the patty was juicy. The bun was really good and I really like it. The fries were also very fresh. Although I do have to admit it wasn't the best value for money. One of the downside to the burger had to be the blue cheese over powered the taste of the burger instead of complimenting it. read more

Went here last night for my first time with my fiancée with high expectations from all the hype. Nope, what I got was a sloppily thrown together burger that had the texture of rubber. The fries were soaked in oil and not crispy in the slightest, just soggy. 34 dollars for two combos, could have eaten at a pub for that much and would have actually enjoyed my food. I was super excited when I heard about Hero Burger and that their beef is halal. I expected a decent burger but was presented with something that looked and tasted like a weird processed faux-meat, paired with a large bill. For a basic 4oz burger combo with your standard fixings it was around $13-$14. I was not expecting this quality for a halal burger joint and especially not that price for an order-at-the-counter restaurant. The fact that I couldn't identify the meat as "ground beef" really put me off. They have some cool sauces and premium toppings (for an extra charge of course), that was the only thing that stood out to me. I will say the staff was extremely friendly and helpful which you don't find a lot of places. For those reasons I give it two stars. read more

Not worth the price. This place bills itself as a gourmet burger place and you pay for it, but whoever is in the kitchen isn't doing a real good job cooking the beef. The beef itself tastes decent, but my burger was overcooked. I got the signature burger, which was recommended to me by the person working there, and.. it was alright. The onion rings I got were mediocre. Overall the meal was something I'd expect from a cheap fast food joint like fast eddie's or something. If you want a good burger in this price range, head down to Burger Burger. It's even cheaper I think. Get their cheeseburger with no condiments and the amazing taste of their beef is going to blow your mind. Everything is always cooked perfectly and the burger just sort of melts in your mouth. I will not be eating at Hero again. Enjoyed our visit, clean and well prepared food. Very patient and courteous staff. Doesn't feel fast food at all even though prices are not much more then McDonald's. I had a create your own burger which was great, husband had the signature which I wouldn't recommend. Kind of soggy... But nonetheless choices are endless. Amazing shakes too! read more

There does seem to be a growing theme with bad quality food. My 8 dollar burger from the London Ontario location was really bad. I burned the inside of my mouth from the burger. It must of been microwaved because it was just that hot inside. I always order all my food without any sauce to enjoy the natural ingredients. This burger (second one I had there) was absolutely tasteless. Also, the patty does not look like it made fresh in the back but rather pulled from a freezer box and microwaved. Will never eat there again. my inability to chew food without feeling pain from the raw skin inside my mouth, is a constant reminder of that. They are definitely no "Hero" of mine and the only certification they deserve, is one of bad food! read more
