Let me start out by saying that I LOVE Greek, Mediterranean, and Middle Eastern cuisine. So my standards are relatively high. This place just missed the mark. Went in at a slow time, only two other tables. Service by my server was AWFUL. Literally took 15 minutes to get dolmades and hummus. Which I very clearly stated was an appetizer and that I still wanted to order an entree. She literally never came back to our table after dropping off the appetizers and spent the entire time talking to an off the clock co-worker. She never once checked in on us. No refills, no how's your meal, nothing. The only reason we were able to order was because the chef brought out our pita (which she forgot) and we (2 of us) ordered directly from the chef. However the food was very solid. Which is the only reason I didn't rate 1 star. read more

The food here was great - a very very welcome addition to a pretty monotonic food scene in Midland. We had the biryani, hummus, baba ganoush, shawarma, and finished it off with baklava and zarda. Very tasty, very friendly service as well. Will be back soon, especially to try the cool looking homemade drinks menu. Only constructive comment would be they are offering tortilla instead of pita with the hummus. However the high quality hummus definitely makes up for it! read more

It's very tasty and most reminiscent that of what I've had back of when I was in Morocco and have had of their cuisine of when I was abroad. The atmosphere is nice and I really like the bar facing the window to get a view of the outside to see the clouds and cars pass with their on going day. read more

Today is my first visit to this place and i must say its one of the best and healthy mediterranean food i had in midland. One update (not negative, necessarily) to my original review - we've been back to Heroes a few times since my initial review, and the falafel, though still delicious, is more oily and crunchy than I personally prefer. I am pretty sensitive to oil though, so to most people it may be perfect. read more

Great to have Middle Eastern food in Midland. I enjoyed the food but have been spoiled by restaurants in Dearborn--and the Middle East. I make my own fattoush dressing at home--so was somewhat upset by their use of balsamic on the fattoush salad! It's not the same! Perhaps sumac is available? We were travelling and stopped in here because of all the great reviews. At best, it is mall food. Expensive mall food. 1 piece of pita bread was $1, about 4 oz. of mediocre Turkish coffee was $4, hummus was ehh, and my salad bowl was full of water on the bottom. Loved this place! I have wanted to go since I read the reviews two weeks ago. Finally made it down there and we ordered chicken shawarma with seasoned rice, falafel with a side of hummus, beef shawarma in a wrap with fries, and a chicken gyro. We got some pita bread and hummus. I wanted to try everything I could! It was all amazing! The food was out quick, hot and fresh! When leaving I asked about the baklava...and got two pieces to go! So we tried Hero's for lunch today. Took about 25 minutes to get our food, which was nice and Hot. I ordered the Falafel plate. My husband ordered 3 Appetizers.
