I stopped in here the other day and had a really good experience. It's a smaller restaurant, but honestly that made it feel super cute and cozy. The atmosphere was great -- warm, relaxed, and really comfortable. We started with the chips and salsa, which I'd rate about a 7/10. Mild to medium spicy and tasty, definitely a solid start. I ordered the chile rellenos, (vegetarian)which came with rice and what I'm pretty sure were refried beans. there's a thin coating of batter over them and I'm pretty sure the waiter told me that it was gluten-free which is awesome. The rice was really good, and even though I'm not a big fan of refried beans in general ,the flavor was still nice. The chile rellenos themselves were pretty decent -- nothing spicy at all, so if you're someone who doesn't love heat, you'll enjoy them. I personally love spicy food, so I wished they had a little more kick only because I am a heataholic The best part of the visit was honestly the service. I don't remember our waiter's name, but he was fantastic. Super accommodating with my food allergies, really friendly and funny, and our food came out extremely fast. Prices were moderate and felt fair for what we got. Overall, cute place with great service and solid food -- especially if you like milder flavors. Food was great. We did the molcajete. Plenty of food for two with left overs. Margaritas were good. Service was great. It was our daughter's birthday and they did a nice celebration for her. Probably more like 4.5 than 4, but can't don't 1/2 points so went with a 4. Overall recommend trying it out. read more

This review is a little bit challenging. When we first started going to the restaurant a few years ago, we were excited to have a good Mexican restaurant nearby. Overtime, our opinion has changed. The service is fair, the food is typical and the prices are too much to swallow - especially the drinks. The large bar, seating, lighting and decor are nice. The one strange part of the experience is the YouTube videos playing Mexican music - I enjoy the atmosphere set with traditional music. But the videos can get a little strange. This might be my new favorite Mexican spot in the area! The food here is absolutely incredible. I love how there's so many options on the menu besides your typical quesadillas, burritos, tacos and enchiladas. They have plenty of authentic chicken, steak and seafood dishes to choose from. I ordered the pollo fiesta and it was not only packed in volume but packed with flavor! Aside from the food, the have a large bar area and plenty of seating. A lot of the tables feel very private because they have tall siding in between them. No complaints about the staff. Super friendly and checked on us more than once. This is a two-part review, since I went twice within a week. I visited with seven of my mountain bike friends after a ride at Russell Mill/Billerica State Forest this past Tuesday night. Yes, that's right, we made it Taco Tuesday. We got there around 8:30 and were greeted warmly and arrangements were made to seat us right away, even though the place was pretty busy. Homemade chips and salsa were made available as the crew trickled in and were kept full by the attentive wait staff. The chips are kind of addictive, and the salsa was just the right degree of spicy. The restaurant was a little on the noisy side, we had to speak pretty loudly to be heard. Finally we were assembled and they took our beer and margarita orders. Steak tacos seemed to be the favorite order, Herradura soup, and I ordered La Lupita. I have to say, you get your money's worth of food here. My main course with the beans and rice filled a large plate (and my stomach). I noticed the white meat real chicken inside covered with the cheese sauce. Pretty good! The fact that they're open later is a plus as well, since we didn't feel the need to rush. A few days later on Saturday, per our usual plan of weekend take out, I suggested Herradura Vieja to my wife and daughter and after perusing the menu they agreed to give it a try. My wife saw they carried Jalapeño poppers and said "We have to get those." Who was I to disagree? My only complaint was they were initially hard to find on the menu, since they were in the Side Dishes section, not in the Appetizers section, where I think they should have been. We all ordered the Burrito Loco which, from the description, sounded good (we're not vegetarians). The order required a wait time of about 45-50 minutes so make sure to work that into your plans. Again, was greeted warmly by the staff and they got my order from the kitchen. Brought it home to find out the take out order even included chips and salsa. Nice! The poppers (6) came with a dipping sauce that I think was basically a Sriracha mayo. The batter was a little too thick, and they were a little soggy because they were taken out, but they tasted ok. The burrito was a flavorful blend of grilled mushrooms, zucchini, squash, onions & tomatoes, covered with melted cheese. It was served with rice, guacamole salad & sour cream. Again, a lot of food. My wife didn't even finish. We all enjoyed it. All in all, two good experiences and I think we will add this to our list of go-to local takeout restaurants. read more

Long overdue, was there I believe on 11, December 2024. Looked at the menu and was very mezmerized with the long list. They had both menus people in the states were familiar with (ala Chi-Chi's, and school cafeteria tacos.) and entrees from different regions of Mexico. Portions were generous, had the lunch special Chicken Chimichangas accompanied by rice and refried beans. It was savory, not salty, chicken was moist, tortillas were crispy and had good amount of picante sauce, and fresh guacamoles. read more

I went to this restaurant for a quick after work snack. The service was absolutely terrible. I ordered a drink and because I did not get the standard per made house mix I was charged double. I asked to speak to the manager and I was told that's what the price was. I never was told before hand that I would be charged double the cost of the drink for substituting the tequila. This was a horrible experience and I will never return. The food was extremely salty the guacamole was pure salt. No water was offered. The grilled chicken was shredded and covered in a sour red sauce. The initial server passed our group to another bartender after manipulating the check by charging double the price for a drink. read more

Decent food but the service needs some improvement. I asked for hot water and received ice water. I also ordered a chicken enchilada and received cheese enchilada. The margaritas were a huge disappointment- the flavor was off. It tasted like not enough lime juice or sour mix. I like that there are hooks for your coats on some of the booths. read more

First timer! Ok this is really good! Best ever? Maybe not. Started w the house mango margarita that was yummmmm. Half salt half sugar rim is a yes for me. Chips are fine but the salsa is very good. We shared the Herradura Burrito w/ braised pork, cheese sauce and rice and bean. Rice: nothing special. Beans: YES. Burrito: it's good. Meat is a tad dry and could use a bit more flavor for my liking. Over all a decent meal, but would try again with a different meat. On the side we had a beef enchilada and that was 100% a no for me. Could taste cinnamon in the sauce and it's just too close to some mole I've had before that I personally don't like. The restaurant has good space and the bartender/server is amazing and so nice. Plenty of parking which was nice. It was my fiancés & I first time here so we didn't know what to expect. I got the steak chimichanga and he got the Texas fajita. Portions were huge and we had meals for the next day which was a bonus! We asked for spicy salsa, and they had one in house and it tasted good. The cheesecake I would pass on tasted like a store bought cheesecake with raspberry syrup topped. We went on a Friday night and was seated immediately. Definitely a good spot for a night out music was kind of loud (and guests), so if you want quiet spot this would not be it, but if you want fun atmosphere this is for you! read more

Enjoyed the Herradura Sampler to split with the fam. It comes with wings, cheese quesadilla, chimichanga, taquitos & jalapeno poppers served with sour cream & guacamole. After reading some of the reviews, I chose to get the Carnitas Herradura: Braised pork served with rice, beans, pico de gallo, jalapenos & tortillas. The pork tasted good and the pico tasted too floral for my tastes. Parking shouldn't be an issue as Herradura is located in a plaza. read more

We went for the second time, this time for dinner. The service was amazing. The staff was plentiful and very attentive. We were seated quickly and our drinks were delivered quickly along with the yummy chips and salsa. When we ordered our waitress took our order by memory! When it was brought to our table, it was perfect! The food was so good, in looks and taste. I love the pictures, tables and lighting in this restaurant. It is not too dark to see what you are eating but not too bright to not be romantic. This time we remembered our leftovers, and they were delicious the next day! We cannot wait to go again soon. The food is always excellent here. We usually get the molcajete which usually serves 2-3 people easily. We've gotten this meal at a few other Mexican restaurants in New England mostly Massachusetts and found nothing that compares to this place. They have the best!!! Judging by the table salsa alone, this place hits the mark. Went here with a relatively big group; was able to accommodate with ease.

Epic sized drinks with tasty food! The restaurant has got most things well. The decor is very welcoming and the person who greeted us at the door was very sweet to entertain our kid. The service was very courteous, prompt and quick. The complimentary chips and salsa are great, in fact we were worried we would have no space for our entrees. The veggie entrees were all great. A very pleasant surprise, this authentic Mexican restaurant! We were hoping for good food after a long days drive , and we got great food. Hubby had the shrimp Yucatán, the shrimp were excellent and the sauce was spoon lickable. I had street tacos, filled to the brim with chicken and lettuce and onions. They were very good. The rice and beans were tasty too. We did take out, as we were here with our pooch and are stuck dining in the hotel room. On a Friday night the place was crazy lively.
