So this isn't the first time for me eating here but my first review. I believe the food was better the last few times I went. This time I ordered a lemongrass curry with chicken (to dine in) and a Rey curry with chicken to go. The chicken for both dishes was so overcooked it was hard to chew. The curry itself tasted good and the veggies were fine. Because of the chicken being so overcooked it really made my meal a 3/5 but the people were great and the rest of the dish tasted fine so I gave it a 4/5 overall. I read a bunch of reviews before deciding to order from this place. Well.... The spicy basil pad Thai was really good that I forgot to take a picture before eating it. Lol. They gave large portion too! The coffee was good, it was a little sweet. The scallion pancakes were nice and crispy, the dipping sauce for it made it so much better. Hmmm... I was looking forward trying out this Thai restaurant. (I should say, "... trying out this Thai restaurant, AGAIN". It was so forgettable the first time, I didn't even remember going there back in 2015. I just noticed my previous Yelp review this morning. haha). Decor was nice, service good, waitress was polite, smiling, attentive. But, now, let's talk about the food itself. Had the 'Kanom Jeeb' as appetizers. To me, they look like pork shumai you get at Chinese buffets. Although, they came with some relatively spicy, probably molasses-based special sauce. That was good. We ordered Drunken Noodles (they call them "Hot & Crazy Noodles") as a measuring stick to compare against other Thai restaurants I love, and ordered Laarb with chicken. Even though we ordered both dishes, "extra spicy, make 'em Thai spicy", both were kinda bland, really. Especially the laarb. Both dishes were really, really simple. Good, but simple, and NOT spicy. Disappointing. Will we go back? No. Sooooo many better cheaper Thai options, even closer to home. read more

Just excellent. Fresh, quality ingredients served with a smile! We had pad Thai with tofu and chicken, it was succulent, fresh, perfectly cooked, and no strange flavors like you sometimes get with this dish. Chicken satay was absolutely perfect, tender white meat on skewers with a delicious dipping sauce of peanut and coconut. Best everrr! Sweet service. I ordered a tom yum soup , pad see ew, and pineapple fried rice for takeout. The tom yum soup and pad see ew were both VERY sweet. The pineapple fried rice was not authentic; rice was mushy, had too many thickly cut onions, and was only flavored with yellow curry powder. Typically this dish has cashews but not here. read more

Got takeout from this place. Overall, the food was great. Ordering online was convenient. I got pad thai with tofu, and my sister ordered pad see yew, which she said was a bit salty. We also shared scallion pancakes, and my sister said it was delish. Will have to try dining inside next time. read more

Quick update to my previous review - - - noodle dishes are great! The Pad See Yew is very good but the Gra Prow Noodle is THE BEST!!! The dish is my absolute favorite here. Sadly I am done working in the area so its unlikely that I'll get out to YT2 again.... But never say never I suppose... highly recommended!! read more

I may have just found an authentic Thai place conveniently located near the rail trail in Chelmsford. Scratch made sauces made with loving care and the willfulness to make it as hot as you can bear, should you dare. Several different varieties of Pad Thai to choose from and their peanut sauce is delicious They're also very accommodating, allowing 'extra cilantro and peanuts' by request! Pumpkin custard dessert is on my list for next time. I've yet to try all of the dishes so I'll be updating with photos in the near future but so far this is a winner close to my home. read more

The food at Yoong Tong II is some of the best Thai cuisine I have ever eaten anywhere. The quality and freshness of the ingredients, quantity of the servings as well as the perfection of the preparation and cooking of each dish is consistently masterful. It's hard to pick favorites. Among the appetizers, the Chicken Satay is a real winner. They are always huge, moist and cooked perfectly. The light curry seasoning of the chicken is totally complimented by dipping it in the best peanut sauce I have ever eaten. The spring rolls are always packed with crispy fresh goodness. They are huge, light and completely satisfying. I am partial to the various curries that are offered. That Massaman Curry and the Panang Curry are standouts for me. The ingredients are always fresh and the dishes are packed with meat and veggies. The composition of the sauces tantalize the taste buds. The number of subtle and varied flavors from the ingredients are revealed with every bite. One item I order every time is the Mango Fried Rice. This dish is a party in your mouth. The curry flavors are complemented by the sweetness of the plentiful mango and scattered sweet onion, shrimp and carrot. The rice is always cooked perfectly and the cashews are a super added treat. Came here for lunch and it didn't blow me a way. I would go down the street to Thai Jasmine on Littleton instead for service/taste. Here's why. 1) Pineapple Fried Rice (lack of curry flavor and any thai spice) 2) My friend had the Pad Thai and it was good- but wasn't great. They are easy on the fish sauce if you prefer Pad thai without the sweet/salt taste 3) Tum Yum Soup (Actually, this was quite good) 4) there is only 1 server for the whole dining room (guaranteed there are only about 8 tables and remember to seat yourself) 5) Large lunch crowd and if you have a large party over 4- the accommodations will be hard 6) Parking: plenty of parking in the back but remember you can not leave the way you came in (i found out the hard way through a do no enter sign) 7) Prices are also higher for lunch/dinner specials (8/9? without any sides like soup or spring rolls etc.. 8) I am also quite concern when you ask about specific dishes and the server has never tried them but recommends it. We had pad Thai that was delicious, but also got fresh rolls that were packed in the same bag as the hot food so they were not crisp and cold and fresh as they ought to be... also, they were wrapped a little haphazardly and one was burst open with the filling spilling out... I'm not a huge stickler for presentation if the food is yummy, but obviously some could see that it was torn open and served it anyway...? Ugh Driver was super nice and delivery was on time. My daughter chose this restaurant and ordered a couple of massaman curry entrees to be picked up from this restaurant this past weekend and it was delicious. There were a ton of freshly cut and cooked vegetables in the dish and the curry sauce was spicy. My only surprise was that it did not come with rice. perhaps my daughter needed to ask/pay for an order but I think that we all just assumed it would've been included with the meal. I will absolutely order from this restaurant again, and really appreciate the effort made to include fresh and nutritious vegetables to include crunchy corn, fresh peppers, sweet potato chunks, string beans, onions, and so much more. After seeing the high reviews from other customers I decided to order. I opted for delivery as I was working 12 hours on Friday. Dined in for lunch the other day and was disappointed. They seemed to be under-staffed, as we waited an uncomfortably long amount of time to be seated in a nearly empty restaurant. Service was snail's-pace slow and inaccurate. My coworkers ordered a specific dish and received a completely different item. When they brought it to the attention of the server, he asked if they would eat it anyways, as it would make it easier on him. They obliged. I expected that their meals would have been removed from the check or at least discounted, but alas, we paid full price and the tip was included in the bill, so we had no say whatsoever. I love the quiet atmosphere of this place. It would be awesome if there were other diners, but I went into the empty dining room with a book the other day, and was waited on hand and foot. The garlic chicken was so good! I got some ginger tea, and the waitress/owner (Anna) was SO sweet, she gave me some fried rice pudding to snack on before I left. The food was much more authentic than the Garlic Bistro, which closed recently. I'm definitely coming back, but if the lack of diners would bug you, just order some take out from here. read more

Stopped here last night for Pad Thai. It was pretty good. I told the chef to make sure it was not dry - lately when getting Pad Thai at other places it seems too dry. Went here for lunch on the recommendation of a couple of people. The place was empty, which is usually a bad sign, but we tried it out anyways. The food was freshly prepared unlike other places who have it sitting around for the lunch rush (but these guys didn't need to worry about a rush). They offered complimentary scallion pancakes after learning that I was writing a Yelp review, which earned them some points. Free food is always good! The pancakes were excellent! The food was also top notch. The spice level was on point and worth the money they charge for lunch. Based on the above commends, you would think I would have given this place a better rating, but there were 2 things that I'm very picky on: The 1st reason reason is not huge deal, but a pet peeve on mine - There were 4 of us at the table and they brought out 2 dishes. I ordered the crazy noodles and my colleague ordered Pad Thai. Over all, I think the portion is on the small side for the price and flavor wise it's just average for Thai food. For the phad-thai, I would recommend Fresh Chow Chinese restaurant that is located on the other side of building. It is half the price and tasted pretty good. Also, I love spicy food.
