I retained Mr. Herreman in 2019 and paid well over $10k for all of the "services" the law firm provided me. I had DVTRO, divorce and custody hearings. And all that was done was filing paper work to the court, emails and phone calls. We never got anything resolved with a judge whatsoever. It's almost like he purposely wasn't doing anything to help me. His wife now works for his firm and she is extremely rude and makes a lot of mistakes. Rhiannon was nice initially, but I felt that she cared more about the money than the client. As a single mom i couldn't afford all the fees and at times they'd be flexible. But at the very end they refused to do so. They forced me to sign a substitution of attorney or to pay another $3000 and if I didn't do either they would dismiss my case. I hired a new attorney in the March 2023 and she achieved EVERYTHING I wanted within less than a week. I came to find out there were things done on by my lawyer on my behalf. I am beyond disappointed with this law firm. read more

Do not under any circumstance hire this law firm. I was charged $4500 retainer and through their misfiling paperwork, & unprofessional neglient handling of my case I ended up $3200 in the hole after it was all said and done. They won't even return a phone call. I even filed a complaint with the state bar association and they won't even try to make it right. Don't believe their lies about being a father's rights attorney. They're only in business to take your money after they have it you will never speak to a real attorney again. All you will get it's the run around from a paralegal. And they change almost weekly. Guy Harreman is a quack and gives real attorneys a bad name. Hire him at your own risk. I advise against it. Guy Herreman is the best attorney... for opposing counsel to have to face. He was my lawyer through a messy divorce and didn't show up for 3/5 court dates. In 2/3 no-shows, I was not notified and ended up finding out an hour past the time I was to appear in court that he would not be showing up. His office is extremely unprofessional, and his staff does not do their jobs. His paralegal sits on papers or forgets to send them, which ended up costing me a lot of money as I had to pay some of my ex's fees. He doesn't return calls or emails, and his employees have the best vacation benefits-- they are always on vacation or almost on vacation or just returning from vacation. He is expensive, but not because he is worth it. He is expensive because he knows that he is going to lose his clients so he needs to charge as much as possible before clients realize he is a horrible attorney. Seriously, only go with him if you don't want to ever see your kids or want to make sure your ex takes over half of your paycheck. read more

I hired this law firm in 2010, my retainer was $8000.00 and all it got me was a few email exchanges, court paper work filed, and one court hearing.... Further more the representation was not done to the fullest of ones ability (had an eh attitude). He knew nothing of my case, did not review anything, and could not deliver what $8000.00 dollars should have bought... All that was delivered was 8 hours of supervised visitation and 50% legal custody.... (not $8000.00 dollars worth). I just called back this firm to see if anything could be done in regards to representation and they said for $3500.00 + they can but due to the way everything went down last time up till today that I will not get anymore than what I have now (which is nothing). The guy on the phone lawyer talked me basically stating I am a bad guy/ dad and so forth, he did not listen to a word I was saying and took what I said and twisted it and through it into left field. DO NOT CHOSE THIS FIRM.... They will take your money but not treat you right, they will lawyer talk you into the belief that it will take 18 years to get what you want in court and they will not listen to you. read more

Herreman Law Firm (Fathers Rights) October 2016, I called the office of Attorney Herreman and spoke to the receptionist, Lisa. I explained that my court case was coming up November 2016 in LA County and gave the court name. I explained that I wanted to meet for consultation and possible representation. Lisa started to respond, then someone in the background told her to hold on. She excused herself from our conversation for a moment and when she returned to the phone, she advised me to go to court, ask for a continuation and come to the office in Riverside. I confirmed the information she provided and we agreed to that. The day of the court appearance, I left court about 11:00AM and called the Attorney office immediately and advised the gentleman that answered the phone that I was on my way coming from _________ Superior Court and that I should be there in about 80 minutes. When I arrived and checked in, I was asked to complete a questionnaire. Once I completed the questionnaire, it was collected by the office staff and given to someone in the office. I was asked to come in to an office and Mike dressed in boot cut jeans introduced himself. He leaned back in his chair and said, "I'm really sorry Mr. Brown, but we can't help you". Before I could ask for details, he began telling me how they do not service LA County because it's not worth the drive. He went on to say that he thought the court was in Riverside. I explained to him that I told Lisa where the court was and I told the gentleman that received my call when I left court and no one ever mentioned service areas. He leaned forward and said, "If you're willing to double the fee, we can work with you". I repeated that no one ever mentioned a "Service Area" and he just shook his head and said, "Sorry bud". I said, "This was a waste of time and effort to drive here". I did everything I could to not lose my cool and go off in a lawyers office. I gathered the papers and walked out. That day was etched in my memory of how shady lawyers can be. What's worse, is that Mike is not even the lawyer from the office name. My expectation was that I would be meeting with Attorney, GUY ARTHUR HERREMAN but obviously that did not happen. If Mr. Herreman allowed this type of trickery to be conducted in his office, there would be no use in talking to him. Funny thing is that I read the Yelp reviews before I went and felt that the used car tactics described by a reviewer were just in her case and could be different with me or anyone else since not all interactions and cases are the same. I will never forget sitting in the car before I drove off thinking, I should have took that review serious because she was sooooo right!! THEY DO NOT "CARE" ABOUT YOU OR YOUR SITUATION, DO NOT BE FOOLED!!! When you are scared and at your lowest point, you become desperate to have your children in your life and not be financially ruined, and turn to "professionals" for help... This law firm is unprofessional and accomplished very little for the $6000 we paid them. It was a complete sham from day one!!! They have your free consultation with their "closer" Mike. This guy has pictures on his desk of his daughters and shares how Mr. Herreman found him living under a tree because his ex-wife had taken him to the cleaners and with Mr. Herreman's help, he was now raising his daughters with full custody. Did I totally believe his story? No, however he was a used car salesman and convinced us that the firm has a heart for father's rights and would fight for us. They did nothing but bleed us dry... In addition, you never really work with your attorney, just the paralegal, who dropped the ball on numerous occasions. I had to remind him several times of a deadline that he still missed and ended up costing us over $1500, they did credit our account $1250 of that, but not the full amount and acted like it was not a big deal. In addition, we paid our bill by the due date every single time it was due, but when it came time to decide about going to trial, they wouldn't even respond to emails or calls because we didn't have a $1500 credit with them on file. Mind you, we owed NOTHING, we just didn't know how to move forward. Then the office manager, DON, accused me of being shady and trying to bypass him so that we could ask the attorney how to move forward when that is what the paralegal told me to do because he couldn't answer my questions. I did loose my temper and raise my voice and I may have been crying, he proceeded to hang up on me instead of just helping us decide how to proceed. We ended up giving them another $500 and they used all of that for one response and then charged us $200 to close our account. You can bet that $200 will come regularly in small increments. PLEASE, PLEASE do your research. This is the second horrible attorney we have had, but at least our first attorney was professional and we spoke with the actual attorney on a regular basis. These people are nice and friendly, to draw you in and after that, it is solely about the money and I get it is a business, but they lead you to believe that they will have your back and it is just not true. I literally felt like my entire world was crashing in on me when I first met with him. Now, here I am 8 months later, with custody orders that are perfect for our children, me and their father! And, yes I said "father." My ultimate goal in all of this was to have a custody arrangement that benefits ALL of us. The Herreman Law Firm is a warm family environment. I knew when I met with the legal assistant that she understood how important it was for me to get help for our children's best interest. The many reviews that I have read (this Law Firm and others that I researched) seem to have something in common. People want to be mad at someone. I guess my experience with family law is different because I wanted help with setting up a custody arrangement that works for mom and works for dad. I found them online and they claim to specialize in Philippines legal matters. I call them to find out if I need to make an appointment for a consultation and this young man picks up and asks me to tell him a little about why I am calling and takes my number down. He then tells me a man name Mike will call me. It has been a week and no one has called. If they can't handle the case then a courtesy call to inform me they can't take on this type of case would of been nice. People have legal matters that need to be addressed!!!!Don't advertise you are experts and say you have successfully handled cases regarding Philippines law and say you have the experts to handle the case when you can't even return a phone call. Compassionate and strong Mr. Herreman has stood by me for a long time in order to help me conclude a contentious and ugly divorce first, then for numerous months, if not years of trying to divide assets as well. WARNING! If this had not happened to me personally, I would not believe it. What every you do, choose another law firm. Each individual that works at Herreman have their own jobs but they have no ability to work together. As a result of poor communication and zero sense of teamwork, service to customers is truly non existent. I asked a different times for someone to contact me about my case, no call back. Filed paperwork requested of me (and charged) but info never made it to court. Lawyer said I did not need to appear in court, only to find out this enraged the judge to throw the book at me and loose bigger than if I had represented myself. Making admin mistakes that delayed case for more that three months. Herreman Law has no concept of "Due Diligence" and still will not call me to resolve outstanding issues. Herreman Law as a whole is unprofessional, spineless cowards that refuse to admit any wrong doing. If you choose to hire them I can only say to you, Caveat Emptor. read more
