Kevin and his painter Steve FIXED my house, which was a LOT of work. They did it within my budget…read moreand they didn't cut any corners or miss any problems. I'm extremely happy with their work. The original contractor had left horrible nail holes in the siding, other nails were sticking out, other nails still had pieces of plastic from the nail gun stuck beneath them, and the original painter had just painted over it all without fixing anything or considering how terrible it looked. There were gaps between planks that they had just slathered caulk on without sanding it. Planks had been cut with a not-sharp saw so the edges were rough. After only 3 years several planks were already coming off the walls. Kevin and Steve filled and sanded and smoothed and caulked and painted. They took a lot of care repainting my house and they did it for a very fair price. I'm so thankful that I found them! I'm no longer ashamed of the outside of my house.

I contacted this company to get an estimate on painting the exterior of my house. Jose, the owner,…read morecame by and as we walked around the house discussing the job, I asked him if he was fully insured and had worker's compensation insurance for anyone working with him. He replied that he was "fully insured". I said that I needed to ask that because there are a number of companies that are doing painting work with worker's that aren't covered, creating a liability for homeowners. Jose left after looking at my house and I decided to go online to the CA State Contractor's License Board to check Samayoa's license status. This company is licensed for Painting and Decorating work, but.....has NO WORKER'S COMPENSATION INSURANCE. He has never carried this having stated an exemption because he has no employees. So.. I sent Jose and email asking him about this, as he did not say he does his painting solo. In fact, during our conversation, he had an opportunity to tell me if he works alone, but he did not. Instead of explaining any potential miscommunication during our conversation at my house, Jose just irritably said, "You can get someone else" and hung up. So...make sure that you verify a company does in fact have active worker's comp if they use anyone and if they don't have employees, make sure that they clearly state this and make sure no one else shows up. I'm just really disappointed in how Jose about this as he was dishonest with me. You can clearly see from reading other reviews that Jose does in fact have other people working with him. Too bad.
