I started working with Dan Hershfield in 2009. We have a complex set of insurance needs across a set of properties. At first we were very happy with the level of service and responsiveness. Over time there was some turnover at the agency, and the service level declined. We switched agencies because of some issues where we felt policies were mis-written causing us to not have proper coverage. After switching, we discovered some much larger issues where we had been exposed to millions of dollars of unwanted exposure due to inattention by Hershfield. I believe they would be fine for simple insurance needs. But for anything beyond a simple auto/home policy, they are not organized enough and the risk is too great. read more

Since homeowners insurance is quite a volatile market here in California, 2 years ago at renewal time Hershfield advised that the best coverage they could find for me was at a significant premium increase.
