I am shocked. I had stored my car there for years when I go on a trip except during covid. I tried to contact them during Labor Day- not realizing it was their holiday. I got a text back saying they had space. I spoke with Dan yesterday - they had space. We firmed it up today... and 30 min later I got a call that they overbooked and dont have space for my car. I am trying to understand- I do not know if my needing just 17 days was the problem or if they didnt check when they said they had space. I always feel bad when business relationships turn out so. I am leaving it as a 3 for an average- I had such delightful positive interactions in past. read more

Take the time to review contracts. Superior Self Storage drove another person's trailer into mine while my trailer was parked in their lot. This means hours of effort filing insurance claims, getting estimates, and repairing the unit for damage occurred to my trailer by the Superior Self Storage staff. I do not recommend them as part of your strategy of protecting your investment. read more

Not the cheapest place but they make storing a trailer super easy. I just call when I'm 10 minutes away and my trailer is always ready when I arrive in a super to easy access area. Dropping off is even easier, I just call a couple minutes out and the gate is open when I arrive. I just drive in, disconnect and drive off. They are also super responsive to calls and emails. If you need a close by location without any weird contracts with straight shooters, this is your place! read more

Read the contract before you sign it. Superior Self Storage accepts no liability for damage to your property--even when one of their employees causes the damage. Our vintage travel trailer suffered a 5 inch puncture wound while parked in our rented space. We were not notified until we came to retrieve it. When we asked for details the owners became defensive, hostile and belligerent and demanded that we not return the trailer to their lot, even though we are paid through the end of the month. read more

I had seen the reviews and checked out their site, and it looked to be exactly what I needed. A little bit of space for a little bit of dough. Now, depending on the size you need they've pretty much got you covered. From 5 X 4 to RV, Boat, and Auto Storage, they'll get you situated. No crazy weird fees and payments are due on the first. There is nothing special about the look of Superior Self Storage. The rolling flats are old and maneuver like bad shopping carts. There is no elevator, only a mechanical lift. There is no air conditioning. The storage units all seem to look alike, making it very easy to get lost. So, why do we go there? Because the prices are great and the owners/managers are really nice. There are storage spaces of various sizes offered, and customers interested in storing vehicles/RV's outdoors can do so in specific parking spots on the facility. Our indoor storage unit is 5x8 (5x9?) and costs us $66/month. Because there is no monthly billing system, we have occasionally forgotten to pay our bill on time, but the gentleman working the front desk hasn't charged us a late fee. Wow! We were in there today because Stephen had to drop off some equipment after closing his coffee shack (Evil Diamond Parking evicted its businesses from its Broadway lot for no reason). The same gentleman at the desk agreed to work with us on some special storage needs because we have stored items there for over two years and because we forwarded some other business to the company. So, I don't mind the rickety flats, the ancient lift system, the lack of cool air, and the spooky hallways. Because it really is about the people. Shoot, it's about the affordability, too! read more

I just got married. We share 480 sq. ft. Until we find a house with a BIG basement, we needed storage ASAP! Ah, Yelpers to the rescue! I read yelp reviews on several places in town and finally settled on this place. The owners are attentive and mindful. It really feels like a family run operation. You can pay as you like (as long as it's at least once a month). I feel like all of our stuff will be safe. The only downfall might be if you wanted 24hr access to your stuff. They have limited "working" hours, 9-5 most days and they are closed during the lunch hour. This could turn out to be a slight inconvenience, but for now it makes me feel pretty secure about all my boxed up belongings. read more

I worked with Dan to store a car. He is a stand up guy and did everything he could to help me out. Very convenient location for me. As long as you are very specific about how long you need to store the car, the size of the car, and how often you need to take it out, you're good-to-go. Just be aware and respect their open/close hours and give them a heads up if you need to move the car. Couldn't be happier with the service. This is a family owned business and the owners are extremely empathetic and helpful. There are NO hidden fees like some other big storage companies. I had my stuff in a storage unit there for a year without any problems or issues. Recently I needed to move it across the country so I rented a large trailer. I ended up needing to leave it over night and they allowed me to keep the trailer in the lot without charging anything extra. It was a LARGE trailer and I was really surprised how understanding the owner was about my situation. He was very helpful. I even screwed up the timing of the trailer delivery and had it delivered on Columbus Day when the storage facility was closed. One of the owners ended up driving by at just the right moment and opened the gates for us. The fact that he took time on his day off to help and didn't even seem annoyed about it really impressed me. This is probably the best place to store your stuff in Seattle. read more

This place is great! I bought a small used RV last year, and this was the only affordable place I could find within a reasonable distance from my house - the other places I checked within a few miles from my house were either full or cost at least twice as much, or both. The lot is not fancy, but it works, and the owners, Dan and Tim, are really nice. They will go out of their way to help you (jumped the battery in my RV and filled up my underinflated tires when I went to get it after several months of non-use). As the previous reviewer said, it's about the people and the affordability. And Mac, Dan's Yorkshire terrier who accompanies him to work sometimes, is really fun. read more

This place is great. I used it to store my boat for the last year and not only is this place the most affordable of all the storage lots around town, the location and most importantly, the service were all top notch. The owners/mangers are all super nice and have been really helpful. I've sometimes have gone to the place as much as 4 times a week to retrieve my boat and they've always been right there ready to help. Recently they were extremely forgiving when they waived the 20 day notice required when closing out an account because my truck died, which forced me to quickly sell my boat. Life comes at you fast sometimes, and these guys understand that. If you're looking for a place that is secured, affordable, honest, and awesome, look no more. I love this place. They easily have the best rates in Seattle and super friendly service to go with it. I kept items with priceless sentimental value there while I was stuck in a tiny apartment and would use them again in a heartbeat! It's easy to move in and out of, clean, and they even have an elevator type thing to get your stuff up to the second floor. Easy! This is a small business that really shines. I can't say enough good things about Superior Self Storage. We had an emergent storage problem that needed a quick solution. The place we went to first couldn't accommodate us on such short notice, and they (a competitor!) recommended Superior and spoke well of them, so that was our next call. Lynnette and Pam were incredibly helpful and supportive, had the paperwork done in short order, and our things were in the clean, dry, cool storage unit two hours later. Though the place was never ideal for storing a boat, or even storing all the stuff that goes along with owning a boat, we persisted for almost 8 years because it was in a convenient location. But these owners are definitely not about customer satisfaction or service of any kind. They open at 9, close at 6 (5 on Sundays), close for lunch 12-1 sometimes locking the gate early if they feel like it, and take more holiday weekends off than any other service business I know, including Mother's Day, Father's Day, Seafair, MLK, President's Day, Columbus Day and 9 others. So if you want to take your boat out for Memorial Day or Labor Day, forget it. They aren't there and there is no access code or key to get in. They are also loose with their accounting, so if you aren't stuck in the pre-internet, pre-online banking, pre-credit card/debit days forget it. They also raised our rent $50 per month without telling us and then got angry when we didn't pay them the extra (we did but only after I called them and it came up). Despite a 1970s (or earlier era, who can tell) storage facility, their prices are quite high. I'd recommend a more modern facility where you have better access to your stuff and a company and staff that respects their customers. read more

I used Superior Self Storage for approximately 10 years. I was very happy with them. The units are clean, dry, and the prices are very reasonable. I prefer the ground floor but I have joint problems so that was a personal issue. They even have a restroom inside so you can keep working on your project. I was in and out all the time since I had a studio apartment and rotated a lot of items. The only reason I closed my units was because my husband and I now have a large house. I'll definitely use them again if I need storage, regardless of where I live. Two things are unique about them that take a little getting used to - they close from 12-1 each day and they are closed on major holidays (they will give you a list of closures). They are not a conglomerate so this actually makes sense - it is run by two gentlemen and they have to have a life too. read more

I'm not interested in getting junk mail from them for the rest of my life--just be up front and list your basic rates for a few standard spaces. Superior Self Storage advertises that it is open 7 days a week. What they neglect to mention is that they are also CLOSED for 27 holidays per year. They also close daily from 12:00 to 1:00 pm for lunch and close for the night at either 5:00 or 6:00 pm. Hopefully you can fit your access needs into their narrowed schedule. The place seems secure enough though the compound looks a bit like a junkyard. read more

Superior Self Storage is exactly that...superior! They are so helpful, affordable and just plain nice! I currently store a small sailboat with them. Today, just when I thought I had my boat all hooked up and took off, I quickly realized I was not at all hooked up. Oops. The guys came out and helped me rectify the problem and I was on my way. I recently moved to Seattle and left several of my moving boxes in a locker at Superior Self Storage for a few months as I finished moving. I had no problems and the rates were cheap! They were easy to work with and I found all the rules reasonable. I'd just make sure you keep a copy of their hours since they are not a 24 hour facility. read more

Great small businesses are what make our country great and these guys rank right up at the top! We can't say enough about how helpful, nice and affordable Superior Self Storage is. We we're moving to E WA and needed to store things until the mtn. passes were passable this never ending winter. We started w/ one unit and when we realized we needed another the managers gave us a break on the price so we basicallly paid the reduced price of what one large unit was rather then two small; THANK YOU! Once we were finally able to haul stuff over the pass they let us leave one of our vehicles parked in their secured lot for two weeks. I always felt safe going by myself (w/ out my husband; as some stogage facilities are a little spooky) because the managers are continually doing walk through checks, plus there is Mac the great wonder Yorkie watch dog!
