Canceled my reservation on the day of. Had to cancel amy plans. Extremely disappointed. I made the reservation like a month before.

Simply put, Hertz Rental Office in Palm Coast Ford was the worst treatment I have ever experienced from any customer service organization. Arrived 5 minutes after my car rental time for a one-way rental to meet my flight and was told no cars, no recourse, move on and get out. I was blamed for being 5 minutes late. When I asked how they could help me get a car to meet my flight, Matt said they would do nothing, I must leave the counter immediately as they had business to conduct with which I was interfering. When I stated that was unacceptable and they were obligated to try to meet their commitment, I was told I was trespassing. Matt then pretended to call the police while glaring at me. This put me in an alarming, humiliating and somewhat desperate situation. I left and did find another last minute rental. It ruined my day. If they overbook they should be kind and offer compensation, not arrogant and threatening. Weird way to run a business. The agency has no sign on the road, or anything visible when you pull into Ford dealership. Just a small sign on the service door behind the waiting cars. Awful! Stay Away! read more

I was given a car infested with roaches. I took the best pictures I could, as they just scattered everywhere in the car. I also found a mold filled water bottle under the seat. When I called to have it switched out, Matt pretended not to hear me on the phone and proceeded to hang up. I called again, no answer. I had to go out of my way to get a different rental from another location in Jacksonville. Completely unacceptable. I will never be renting from this location again. read more

Beware not a reputable company. If you don't take out their insurance three weeks later, they'll claim you had an incident in it and try to charge you even though they're attendant walked around the car and there was never an incident to start with.. read more

We have a Hertz rental car and the rear right tire is going flat. It's 10:00 at night and we have four kids in the car. My approximate wait time to even get someone to answer the phone call is 41 minutes. That doesn't even include getting someone to come out and repair the tire. My wife and I rented a car on our vacation to Florida. Prior to leaving, we booked a reservation with Hertz Rental Car. When we arrived at the airport, we picked up our car at the Sanford/ Orlando airport. The counter people were very nice and helpful. After leaving the airport, we noticed how dirty our rental car was. As we drove on I95, to our hotel, the front end of the car had a vicious shake when we went over 50 mph, additionally the hood of the car appeared as if was going to fly open. After getting to the hotel, we made contact with Hertz, and informed them of our experience while driving the car. A representative told us that we can either have the car towed back to where we picked it up and ride with the tow truck operator, but if the driver did not want us in the cab of his truck, they would get us an Uber or a cab. Our second option was to return the rental car, ourselves, to either the original pickup location, or the closest Hertz location. If we were to return the car to a different location, that's where we would have to return it when we were done with the car. I explained to Hertz that we are almost two hours from the airport, are on vacation and had plans to spend time with our family and asked if they could replace their faulty vehicle. I was informed that was not an option. My wife posted our experience on Social Media and received a message from Hertz. After messaging with Hertz for most of the day, we were informed that a representative from Hertz would contact us on how to replace the rental with a new one. It's been almost 48 hours and we still have not heard back from Hertz. It obvious that Hertz does not care about their customers safety. We will share our bad experience with everyone we know and never use Hertz again. read more

We were visiting from out of town when we had a breakdown. We made a ONE day reservation to be picked up on Saturday afternoon. We got the car, no problem. We returned it the next day, put our keys in the return slot(they were closed) and went in our way. Well we were charged for 2 days even though we only had the vehicle for well less that 24 hours. When I called, the guy on the phone just didn't seem to care. Go somewhere else where customer service is a priority. BTW- I rent from other Hertz locations all the time. I'm actually a Hertz Gold member. read more

State Farm Insurance had me reserve a car with Hertz. Worst experience I've had with any type of business. 1st... this vehicle was reserved ONE MONTH in advance.... They were to pick me up at the body shop in Bunnell. Did not show! Did not answer the phone for ONE HOUR.... corporate did not answer the phone! If it wasn't for the persistence of Caliber Collision's employees, I'd STILL be sitting there waiting for Aaron, at Hertz, to answer the phone! When Caliber drove me to the Hertz office - Aaron was there but he said he had no vehicles. Again, Caliber found one of 'their' vehicles that was just dropped off at their shop. THEY arranged to have it delivered to me at Hertz. HERTZ DID NOTHING! THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Do NOT go there! You cannot depend on them. thanks for nothing, Aaron! read more

Thank you leaving my son stranded. I had a reservation for $101.27 with a conformation number I took screen shots to send to my son since I'm in Texas not 2 mins later the email confirmation came the changes to $171.62. Of course I call customer service after talking to 4 people they said oh the location has to honor that price $101.27. Let me add while on the phone with them the price changed twice. So he went in today and they said they can't honor that price since he doesn't have a paper copy of that price. Well how am I gonna have a copy of that paper? Of course like the rest of consumers I was going to have him print the email confirmation but that is when I saw the difference. I am so frustrated that this happen and I am posting this so people will know how things work. This office does not honor anything when they clearly see the difference in price. I made my reservation through USAA because I am a disabiled veteran and I think they should know how they are treating us. So now my son who is on vacation is stuck for the week. What a vacation. Rented from here a few times. Older beat up cars but my real complaint is..... I recently rented a car. I dropped it off shortly after they closed. I was instructed by the car salesman to put the keys in the drop box. I also left a note & my phone number in the envelope. Then a few months later I get a bill for an additional 300+$. Their records indicate my car was turned in 4 days after its expected return date. read more

Returned the car with some noticeable dirt but didn't think it mattered. I had a passenger with a disability that caused her feet to rub the door panel and transfer a little mud and sand. When their charge finally came thru it had an extra $300 charge for damage/cleaning. When I called they said only corporate could help me. Corporate informed me the location saw "ashes" and accused me of smoking in the car and refused to change the charge. No one said I had to clean the car before returning it let alone about some $300 charge. I believe they use this excuse to grift an extra $300 out of their customers. read more

On 10/27 I picked up a vehicle for a one way trip from Palm Coast, FL to Atlanta, GA. The vehicle I was originally assigned was sold during the checkout process so they could not let it go out for rental. At the last minute I was provided with a Chrysler 200. The vehicle was dirty inside, the drivers seat had visible sweat stains with white outlines, the car smelled like BO and the windows were filthy. I had to clean the windows a bunch of times to get the dirt off the inside before it had good visibility. I took the vehicle up on the interstate, only to experience a severe vibration upon reaching 55-60 mph. I pulled over in a rest area to check the tires and found they were all inflated to 55 psi. I let the pressure out to the recommended 35lbs and continued on my way. This helped with the vibration slightly but there was still a bad shake in the vehicle. I continued on because after all this I was behind schedule. Drove the vehicle slower than the advertised speed to mitigate the vibration. Upon arriving at my destination, I had the worst headache of my life from all the shaking. At the destination, I brought the experience to someones attention and they said "no wonder, looks like the car was in a bad accident previous". This was because the entire drivers side of the vehicle was painted and the color and clear coat work made it obvious. The rims have visible damage as well and more than likely one of them was bent. The receiving Hertz location stated they would not rent the vehicle until it was inspected (very wise). I was told to bring this to the attention of the contract location for an adjustment. Upon arriving home, I contacted the Palm Coast location. Explained exactly what happened and asked for an adjustment, only to get a BS run around. After explicitly stating I wanted a credit approx 5 times, the guy said he would submit one and communicate via my email address. That was also total BS and I have yet to hear from him or receive any type of credit. Had such a bad experience, I will NEVER rent again from this company. Monday morning I am going to file a small claims case against the local Hertz branch to recover some of my funds. read more

Worst experience ever they scammed me and my girlfriend gave us a car with a hairline crack in windshield. Then when we get back blame us for crack getting bigger. Wouldn't except my insurance made us lay cash. Then told us car had to go to orlando to get repaired and had it being fixed on site hours later. Nothing more than liars and theirs. Worst company by far to rent from. They run your card for a 200 dollar security deposit and do everything not to give it back. read more
