I would give fewer stars if I could. This company is ripping people off and this office was terrible! On January 5th I placed a reservation online. On that day my credit card was charged $276.27. On January I changed the reservation and my credit card was charged an additional $47.33. This is a total of $276.27 taken from my credit card. On January 11th I arrived at the Gainesville, GA location to pick up the rental. After waiting over 30 minutes to be helped by an employee I was informed there was a no rental on my license and I was given a number to call. When I spoke with the lady at that number I was told I had an outstanding balance, though I never rented from Hertz, and that my credit card would be refunded $276.27 within 7-10 business days. It is now January 31st and I have yet to receive my refund. The way Hertz conducts business is ridiculous. They immediately took my money. If, as I was told, there was a block on my driver's license number due to a past-due balance the reservation should have never gone through when I put in my license information and you should have never taken money out of my account. I have tried to contact them and I have received no response. read more

Worst company in the world. They were supposed to drop off a car to me and never showed up, never called, couldn't contact them and tried 15 times over 10 hours. Also used the 800 number which put me on hold for a hour till I hung up, tried again later and same thing. So no car, stranded, no contact, 6 text messages from them where they said they would call and didn't. If there was ever a 0 star company it's this one. read more

My experience has been horrible, and I'm hoping something can be done before I'm stuck with this gross minivan for another day. It all started as I arrived and learned I could only use a credit card to rent the vehicle - the website didn't make it obvious even when I originally reserved it with a debit card. I don't hold this against the location, but Hertz needs to make this significantly more clear when booking. Then the issues with the location began. First, it took them well over a half hour to realize there was no way to go around the companies ridiculous policy. We were told we could only get a minivan even though we rented a large SUV (I'm unsure whether or not this is on the location or corporate based on what happened next). The minivan we were shown was at least a nice one. We were told as long as we could get a credit card there within the next few hours would we be guaranteed to maintain our rental, but that using another passengers credit card would result in an extra hundred dollar charge for an additional driver, even though the original plan was to only have me as a driver. We came back with a credit card and were given a significantly downgraded minivan (older, more apparent wear and tear, dirtier on the outside), and it took well over a half hour to get us the minivan even though there was effectively no one in line in front of us. The minivan we were given was dirty inside, the antenna was bent, it smelled bad inside, none of the tires had caps on the air nozzles and at least two of the tires were low, the windshield washer fluid was empty (which we discovered after driving out of the parking lot), and a warning that it needed an oil change showed up before we drove 100 miles (for a 7 day rental). We would have canceled had we known that we'd get a hand me down from a hand me down that hadn't been cleaned or maintained, but by time we came back to discover our vehicle was changed yet again it was too late to go with another rental car agency. read more

NEVER AGAIN! They charged me for services I never agreed to. They lied and charged me for a road side assistance call they never happened.They charged me $100 for pet hair. There was very little pet hair and I could have had the car fully detailed in and out for $100. This place is a scam. Don't waste your time. They will lie, cheat and steal from you. They did not have my rental car even though I made a reservation! And I was not the only one! They claim they couldnt even cancel it for me, I had to call the 800. We shall see if they charge me! been scammed hertz 2419 browns bridge beware did not have the car i reserve or a car in the same class. when I return the car they would not inspect the car with me said just leave the keys I should have known better i did fill the tank up but they charge me $28 more for gas when i called them was told they could not help me the account was closed and said sometimes people are smarter than computers to call 800 number scammed once but not twice do not waste your time read more

This is the last time I ever rent from Hertz! Called on a Monday to get an suv rental for Thursday- Sunday delivered to Lee Gilmer airport. Everything was fine until we arrived on Thursday and they never put our rental contract into the computer. Luckily there was a car available at the airport and the staff at Lee Gilmer helped us get a car from Hertz. We returned the car to the airport on Sunday like we always do. Now on Tuesday I get a call from Hertz in Oklahoma saying they will take legal action on a non returned car. This is the second time in 3 months that I have booked a car and had problems. I rented a car from Hertz at the Atlanta airport. On my second day, it was showing a dashboard warning light. I called the Gainesville Hertz office, asking if I could bring the car to them. They said, "Of course." I brought the car in, and even though I wasn't their client, they made me feel welcome, checked out the car, and assured me it was good to go.
