This used to be my "go to" place for renting a car. This morning I accompanied my daughter to pick up a car that was reserved for her by the insurance company that's repairing her personal car. Everything went well until we went outside to view the car that was selected for her. The lot attendant was cordial and respectful and showed us a Sentra that was dirty. He himself admitted it was dirty and tried to give us a VW Jetta but it had no spare. Then a Malibu and again no spare but it may have had an inflation kit (useless). Then he began talking about upgrading for $18.00 a day more??? My daughter rejected the additional $18.00 because if Enterprise did not have the car she was supposed to have, then the upgrade should have been at no extra charge. By now the attendant was getting frustrated and showed us another Sentra, dirtier than the first one, and tried to tell us it was clean. Reluctantly, he then took it behind the building and sprayed it off with water. It was still dirty when he brought it back including the inside. When my daughter began pointing out various dents and scratches he commented that ALL dents and scratches were already noted in the record of the car and she could take pictures if she wanted. By now he just wanted my daughter to sign the agreement and accept the car. She did sign the agreement and from there she went and had the car cleaned properly at a car wash at her expense. She was not happy with the car but because the attendant was already showing his exasperation she accepted it. There is obviously not a manger at this location. Otherwise, he or she would be reviewing their inventory and identifying which cars need attention and which are ready to be rented. In addition, a manger would have given my daughter the up grade at no extra charge. read more

This enterprise used to be really good. I don't know what's happened lately but they're not the same. They give you cars that are dirty consistently and they give you cars that don't have gas. I just picked up a Ford expedition the other day so I don't have to tell you how much I spent. Obviously it was a lot. And it has 70 miles in it when I got it. I just think that's unacceptable because most people are gonna bring it back with a little more. I had to put gas in it in order to do what I needed to do, and then when I returned it, it had over 85 miles in it because I had to fill it up with gas while I had it. There's no way for me to burn all the gas out before dropping the car off this Sunday morning. They should take money off of that price because you should not be giving people cars that don't have gas. Is it a strategy so that you can get a car in return that has gas. You know people are gonna be filling up these cars because they're getting them on empty. Is this a scam? Just very unprofessional. My friend recommended me to this place and I shouldn't have listened because she had a bad experience with them. They gave the car dirty and they were just rude. They try to say that they didn't have any cars in the morning and when she questioned the ability to reserve the car only to find out that they don't have a car, they got upset and cursed and slammed the key on top of the counter. She reported it to their manager, but I don't know if anything gets done about it because some of the same things still exist. Wash these cars and put gas in them. Absolute worst experience. Yesterday, I picked up a car from the enterprise in Gainesville off of Browns Bridge road. I got in the car and it immediately smelled like marijuana. I informed the person there that I didn't fee comfortable driving a vehicle that smelled like that. They told me it was the only car and to take it to the Oakwood location as it was actually "their car" and it was "their problem". I got to Oakwood yesterday and received a Volkswagen that was "their only car" even though it wasn't very clean or nice at all as it was less than the class I was being given by the dealer. I called the Oakwood store to look at switching into another vehicle like a Camry and spoke to Jalyn (not sure if that's spelled correctly). He was unable to offer any assistance or seemed to care at all. He informed me that due to their policy he couldn't tell me an exact make or model because their policy wouldn't allow it. I told him how I've been through so much of a headache because of Enterprise, but he told me to "not dwell on the experience yesterday". He also let me know he would try to give me a free upgrade on my next rental, which didn't help me at all. Overall, Enterprise has failed me and no one has been able to help at either location. The manager Mike in Oakwood was also not available either day. I will definitely speak with my dealer regarding this. I will never rent from Enterprise based on this experience and lack of respect or care from employees. read more

Used the online reservation to book a cargo van on Saturday. Got a Confirmation back. Went to pick up vehicle and was told we don't have any Cargo Vans. They tried Gainesville and Buford - No Vans. Had to go to U Haul. Cost me twice the quoted price. Why even issue a CONFIRMATION - made me feel like I was on old episode of Seinfeld. Won't use them again. read more

I was running late picking up my vehicle from this Oakwood location and attempted to called them several times but no one pickup. So I arrived right at closing time and was being help by I know I was late but he should be so rude about helping me. The reservation was in my daughter name and I when to pickup the vehicle, he won't let me do it since it's in hso I have to pay at a higher rate not wantingto work with me about this situation I never have this problem with the Winder location and please check your records we did booked in the past at this location in different name and my daughter when to pick it up with no problems. I would never get my vehicle from here again!!! Folks remember at this location always book it in whoever picking the vehicle name or you will be paying for it at a higher rate!! read more

I have been a customer of this Enterprise location for over ten years. I have had to rent a car for the past 4 months to help out my boyfriend so he can get his own car. After 4 months of them charging me once or twice a month ($1000.00 at a time) now they refuse to let me keep the car till Friday because I have a $300.00 balance today. I even explained I would be able to pay on Friday the full balance. I just haven't gotten paid yet. So they kicked me out of the car and demanded it back. I am so upset by this. After being such a loyal customer that has never not paid their bill this really pisses me off. This is not how you treat customers especially when they try to make arrangements but instead Enterprise would rather my boyfriend lose his job. I will not re rent a car from this company again ever. There is another rental place now in Gainesville. Hertz off Browns Bridge Road has some very nice people and just as good of rates if not better. If you need a car I would suggest you go there. I give them a negative 5 stars.. They blew it this time. STAY AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE THEY WILL SCREW YOU OVER. I WAS TOLD LAST WEEK IT WAS NOT A PROBLEM WHEN I PAID BALANCE TO KEEP FOR TWO MORE WEEKS. THAT WAS ON TUES LAST WEEK. THEY LIE TO YOU WHEN YOU COME IN ABOUT WHAT THEY CHARGE AND HOW THEY CHARGE IT. BE VERY CAREFUL IF YOU USE THEM!!!! Called and made a reservation today at the Oakwood Enterprise location and received a confirmation email stating I would be picked up at 5 pm at work and taken to Enterprise location for pickup of rental car. Spoke to the rep at Enterprise and he stated computers were down but he confirmed 5 pm pickup stating someone would call me if there was any issue. Noone showed up at 5 pm to pick me up and local rental car companies close at 6 pm. I called the Oakwood Enterprise location and rep told me "Computers have been down 2.5 hours, what kind of car did you reserve?" I stated Midsize and got "Oh, we don't have a midsize" and no explanation why noone called to let me know that noone was coming to pick me up and no concern whatsoever that noone showed up. Stranded at work with no car and had to call family member to come get me and too late to get rental car. Very poor customer service and I will not consider using this company again. read more
