Absolutely, 5 Stars very helpful and professional. I had to rent a car for 5 ppl who were visiting, made my reservation and came to get my car. The young man named Aaron handled my needs expeditiously and with care. And then and then someone side swiped the car and I had a panic attack and drove back crying and Jag the manager and Aaron and the last young Brown man who was also there- like they knew how to handle an interesting customer. Like I'm a grown woman, boohoo crying and they were like take it easy breezy. Like they made me want to come back and do business there after crying in front of a bunch of strangers. They made me feel safe, and like not embarrassed like WOW! Good job team. And they were super busy every day I went. Terrible service! Manager told me I was "entitled" because I complained about the long wait! Car was filthy - disgusting stains on drivers seat - eaten peach pit and dirty tissues in pocket behind passenger seat!!! Less than 1/4 tank of gas when I picked up the car! What happened to Hertz? Had a terrible experience back in July. I reserved my rental at this location and went there same day to confirm they have an available car for me. Everything checked out fine. The next day when I went to pick up the car they said the car registration has expired and they cannot give me the assigned car. They would have to check other locations. This completely ruined my plan because I had to travel to another state in the morning. After waiting for about an hour and getting frustrated I told them not to bother looking for other cars and I left. Very disappointed with this experience. read more

This place is impossible, I made my reservation for 1pm, I got there and 1pm and they were closed. I stood outside as I tried calling another Hertz location with three bags and a 7 years old, while locating another rental place and calling myself an Uber I watched the two male employees walked out and stepped pass myself and my son as they giggled with no concern and intentionally tried to not make eye contact. Had an insurance rental here after someone had the bad grace to take a chunk out of my car, and was terribly underwhelmed. Hertz #1 Gold - yeah...they don't really care. Sad little vehicles which really should have gotten a major tune-up when the bigger airport location it came from punted it off the lot. I was promised a car swap for something larger for 2 days, only to always be told that they just didn't have anything. The matter was taken out of my hands when my rental had a sudden acceleration situation, and I immediately called Hertz and had the vehicle swapped out at JFK. If you want to rent Hertz - go to JFK. This LE location really deserves a closer look from Corporate, because they just don't represent the brand well at all. read more

I was right and they were wrong. Someone stole the ezpass out of the vehicle I rented. Customer service for the third party toll provider sucked. I have subsequently rented vehicles and made sure the unit was off. I will never let these puppies make money on me. I told them it was probably stolen and they didn't care and we're not nice at all. I made my reservation for a full sized vehicle on Mon. May 14th for pickup on Friday May 18th. I selected this location over the location at the airport due to it's proximity to my house. Upon arrival I could tell that everything was in a state of chaos. There were about 4 cars in the parking lot, none of which were full sized. There was one customer being helped as I walked in & I could hear his complaints of unprofessionalism from the moment I stepped in until the moment he left & it was my turn to be served. I had to wait an hr while the staff scrambled to track down full sized cars to fulfill reservations. There were two guys who alternated helping one customer, one of which left midway through to go find cars, & two women, one of which was the manager who ran in & out periodically searching for cars as well. I was told they had 40 reservations & late rental returns & that that was the cause of the chaos. If they're reservations, they were aware that these customers were to be expected. Why not be fully prepared to meet the needs & expectations of the day & your customers? I was showed & offered a mid size SUV due to the delay & unavailability & after surveying the vehicle I accepted it. I needed at least a full size or larger vehicle to meet my needs for the rental. While I sat for another period of time, some other staff members, one of which was the manager, arrived with vehicles from another location. The staff member assisting me finished my paperwork & as he was walking me out to the car notified me that I would be getting a Corolla instead. I was instantly confused & taken aback. Upon surveying this newer assignment I realized that it was not a full size car. ONLY upon inquiry was I informed that it was actually a mid size car. Your company screwed up & I get DOWNGRADED for the inconvenience? My annoyance & anger was obvious on my face & I was promised to receive an email in 20 minutes with a lowered rate & told to bring the car back with no fuel in it. I never received an email. My frustration with the overall experience swayed me to take the vehicle & not fight or argue with anyone, as the staff member assisting me was clearly doing his best with what he was given. This problem clearly is the result of poor management. & management was not available to h&le any of these issues as she was busy running around like a headless chicken trying to find cars. After sitting in the vehicle I realized that it was a disgusting mess. They did not clean the car at all. There were chocolate chips logged into the E brake, cashew shells under the seats, greasy smudges all over the radio display, the doors...pretty much every surface in the front seat. The seats were also stained. & to top it all of, the car had less than a quarter tank of gas in it. Upon return, I was given a whopping discount of $8.35 for the inconvenience that I was caused (no gas, dirty car, hour wait, class downgrade). I made a reservation for a full size car for $141.13 & received a dirty, unfueled, mid size car for $132.78. -_-. I was never informed that they were closed on sunday (the day that I scheduled to return the car) so I was charged for an additional day, never informed that they put a hold of $350 on my credit card, & never given an actual rental contract. This was by far the worst rental experience that I've had so far in LIFE; I've had a Hertz vehicle from another location malfunction shortly after leaving the rental location & the experience of returning & swapping out that car went more smoothly than this more recent experience. This location needs better management as the current state is wholly unacceptable. I pretty much feel as though I was baited into reserving a car there because of the rate & then switched on when I arrived to pick up the car. Disgusting & terrible business tactics. The only positive remarks that I can offer is that the car ran well & the gentleman assisting me was courteous in every way. Otherwise, disastrous. read more

I only chose this location due to the high demands at the airports so the cars were all sold out. This location was a little convenient and cheaper. Upon arrival the process was simple and quick.... until he told me that there was only a 1/4 tank in the car. I wasUpset because normally when I pick up a car I expect there to be full tank of gas. It is a lot easier when you have a full tank of gas and you use whatever gas that you need to use and you can fill it back up when you're done. Also when getting into the car it's smelled way too fragrant as if they were trying to hide a smell of something from a previous driver. It wasn't as clean as it should of been. There was still mud on the floors from the previous driver and plastic bags in the trunk that could've been thrown out if it was clean properly. I understand that this facility does not have their own washing center but it's just certain details that could've been cleaned. When I started to drive the car it was fine until it rained and I noticed that the windshield wipers needed to be replaced. But at that time I was too far to go back so I had to keep going with the wipers that were not cleaning rain off the car properly. Overall only thing I can really say about this car rental is that it was a very quick process, even though the chosen car was poorly maintenance and I would probably never go back to that one again. Honestly speaking the airport is your best bet you'll get your full take a gas, you'll get your clean car and you will get in and out service. read more

Worst experience I've ever had renting a vehicle. I returned my vehicle, they checked the car to make sure everything was fine and gave me the receipt without any issues. Two weeks later I noticed on my bill that I had $300 charge for smoking inside vehicle. I never smoked in my life!! Nor did anyone in my vehicle smoke!! I called to complain and asked do they have any photos of ashes or proof I smokes in car. They literally did not answer me. They said"we are not taking the charge off, it is what it is". I told them I will never rent a vehicle from them again and you just lost the company I work for business. Their answer was "Good". Stay away and rent a vehicle for another place. read more

Employees clearly don't care about customers, the cars are dirty when they rent them, and the ezpass container was broken and on the floor. The guy who rented to me was so lifeless, apathetic and unhelpful that I want to say he was was high on dope, but I don't want to insult marijuana, which is actually helpful to many people. Having a "local edition" Hertz nearby is great and very convenient when you need a car in a hurry. This location was great and close to home when I needed to rent a car for a week for business. I reserved on-line and went to pick-up the car, but didn't have the size of car I was hoping for (I was trying to rent a standard size, but they were out and I had to settle for a compact). Also, it appears that the "local edition" of Hertz is where older cars (not terribly old), from the airport locations go when they get a bit banged up or what have you. Just also make sure you check stuff like the tires before you take the car because I found the tread on my car to be a bit low, but on the bright side they said I could swap the car for a different one at any other Hertz Local Edition if I felt unsafe. read more

My rental had a flat tire, so I turned the car in and filed a vehicle incident report stating that there is a flat tire. Today Hertz's collecting agency Viking Billing Service sent me a bill of $207.69 worth of damage all of a sudden. I called them and asked why it's costing me so much for a flat tire, they told me Hertz is charging me for 2 new tires because they think the other tire is flat too. This is outrageous because I personally pulled the sharp piece out of the flat tire and checked to make sure no other tires were leaking. On top of that, there were no communication with me from Hertz or Viking Billing Service prior to the billing letter, then all of a sudden they slap me with a $200 dollar bill without any breakdown on the cost, not to mention they trying to gouge price for a new set of tires, this is unacceptable, I'm filing a complaint to Better Business Bureau and attorney general. read more

I wish I could vote 0 stars. Do not rent here. These people are CON ARTISTS. They are thieves I verbally agreed to rent a stupid Ford Fiesta for $20/day for at least a week. They verbally told me they were giving me a week to rent the car and I thought I would need more than a week for my car to be repaired but they assured me they can always add to it...I rented the car on 9/10/19 on the contract it said the return date was 9/12/19?! THEN to my horror I discovered too late that they ended up charging me $55/day with all these extra charges Sirius xm, protection package?? I did not verbally agree to all these extras. I told him I wanted a basic car with no insurance bc I already have State Farm...he offered me the Ford Fiesta knowing it came with Sirius XM which I couldn't give a dick about! When I complained and asked for a refund they said the contract was correct and that they have me on audio agreeing to all the extra frills! They totally screwed me I was charged $936++ for the renting a tiny Ford Fiesta for 10 days! It's UNHEARD OF and now I am not able to pick up my private car from caliber collision. This was an insurance matter meaning I shouldn't have had to pay a dime! I gave him my claim number and told him I had State Farm so that he could bill them. Do not rent here you will be sorry horrible customer service! I definitely have a case and plan to take legal action. They said sorry for the "misunderstanding" I should have taken a taxi to work! Terrible service. My boyfriend reserved a car for the Rent to Buy Program but when he came to pick it up, they couldn't find the car and then told them that itw asn't ready. He ended up being late for work while they were running around looking for it. He called them back later and left a message and they didn't get back to him. I complained to customer service department on Twitter and all they could tell me was he should call the Rent to Buy phone number. I told them that they had poor customer service and it reflected poorly on their company. They claim that they will forward this to upper management. My rental from this location was dirty - there was a half full Starbucks iced coffee cup in the center console. I'm not sure how long it had been there, but that might account for the unpleasant odor in the car. I might forgive this, but the fraudulent $300 charge for tolls that they collected 3 weeks after I returned the vehicle was the real red flag about this business. I immediately contacted the manager, Steve, to query the charge and explain that I had not used any tolls in the few days that I had the car. I was promised a call back and to be copied in on an email following up to investigate - neither happened. After numerous calls to this office, a week went by with no action to refund the erroneous charge, and no communication from Steve or anyone else at Hertz. I finally called Hertz Corporate headquarters, was connected to PlatePass, who were able to identify and refund the $300 on one call. Obviously NO effort had been made by the Lynbrook office to rectify the situation. Terrible customer service, and shady business practices. read more

This establishment is horrible. I always use hertz when I rent a car and they usually have great customer service. These thoughts all changed after my experience with this location. I made a reservation a week in advance only to get to this location and have them tell me they didn't have a car for me. After 45 mins of waiting around they then drove me to another location which was a room in a body shop and this is where I received my rental. After my rental period was up I had another issue which I tried to speak to the manager of this location Mr. Steve Cairo but to no avail. He wouldn't even give me 5 mins of his time to try and help me. As I was speaking to him he literally answered his phone told me he had to take the call went back into his office and never even once came back to finish speaking to me. I guess that's why this hertz location has such bad customer service because they have a manager like Steve teaching these horrible tendencies to his employees. I would never recommend this hertz location to anyone I know and i won't ever be doing business with them again read more
