I rented several times at this location in valley stream and was always pleased with the service until today. I had made a reservation online for a compact SUV, when I arrived at 5 pm, I was informed that it was not available. The manager rudely and abruptly said "It's not how we operate" when I tried to explain that it should not have allowed me to book the reservation online if the car was not available. I told him that I was not going to pay more money for another car when he demanded that I do. As a woman, I felt threatened and uncomfortable. Sean another employee asked for my driver's license and shouted your license has expired, I corrected him that it will expire in 5 days and I had already renewed and waiting to receive it in the mail. I dealt with this supervisor in the past and he was always respectful because other employees were Caucasians, he knew to behave civilly but today his true color came out, he felt comfortable because there were two other black men like himself working there when I came that's why the treatment was different. Headache and a half! I visited here to rent a car and had already made my reservation online. When I arrived they tried to give me a dirty vehicle which had trash inside and was missing cup holders. They told me it was the only vehicle available. I then had to wait for the cleaners to clean the vehicle the second time in two days. After the cleaning crew finished I inspected the vehicle again only to find the back of the vehicle was covered in dog hair, and there was trash behind the seats . at that point, it was just ridiculous and a waste of my time. We got on the road late and there was no need for them to not have been diligent in the cleaning of their vehicles. read more

Ed and his associates at Enterprise were very friendly and helpful even though my reservation was 15 minutes before closing on a weekend. 3 other car rental establishments in the area either had no cars available but I was able find what I needed here and at a reasonable price. Office people were nice . However I was disappointed with my car rental even though I love the brand and model. The vehicle should not been allowed to be available as a rental . The vehicle needed maintenance like the oil and filter replaced , the brake light was flashing on the dashboard , washer fluid was lower and the wiper blades need to be replaced . Also the key battery was low not a good thing having to worry if you are start the car. Somehow the vehicle i really wanted to rent wasn't available however as I took possession of my rental it mysteriously became available . Made me think of I was being shafted because my car insurance was paying for the rental . Very disappointed with the integrity of this office. I rented for slightly less than a month because of a car accident. When I turned the car in, I had left my gig bag and band merchandise in the car by mistake. No one ever alerted me to this and when I went back and brought it to their attention they denied ever having seen it. You want to sell my microphone, my cable, my tambourine, my zills, my preamp - fair play, but you also got all my lyrics, all my band merchandise (that *I* can't even sell) in the form of t-shirts, coasters, badges, etc. as well as all my business cards, LED lighting to light the merch display, all the pricing signs I made AND the vintage suitcase that was all tricked out as a merch display. I know you can't have done anything with that except chuck it to the side of the road and now I have to start over again from scratch. On top of that, I got COVID from having to use a house mic at a gig because you had *my* mic. I will only use this Enterprise again if I'm being forced at knifepoint. read more

Just got back from a 3-day trip to Washington DC with my two teenagers (16 and 18). We rented a Mazda CX-5 (NJ license plate S40-PUC) from this office. When we picked it up, the staff was polite, friendly, professional and attentive despite the office being very busy (a tribute to the staff, perhaps). The car was in perfect shape despite having 41K miles. It was clean and everything worked. We put over 500 miles on the car in a few days with the a/c on the whole time and it worked perfectly. They have a wide variety of vehicles available, from cars to SUV's. It is conveniently located in Valley Stream, close to the 5 Towns area of Long Island. This is the best enterprise location around. I've rented from them a couple times when my car needed repairs and also for weekend vacations. I can't remember the name of the man who always helps me there but he's always super friendly and helpful and beyond professional and courteous. He was training an intern the last time I was there and he is a model example of how the employees should be treating customers. Absolute horrible management. told us that we'd be okay to put the $300 hold on the credit card and that it then they tried putting the reservation payment on my credit card as well. Enterprise is not supposed to do that and we wound up getting screwed because we didn't have enough on the credit card. I have rented plenty of cars through Enterprise and not one of them has put both payments on the credit card. If I could give this place no stars, I would. I reached this enterprise branch with a reservation to only be told that they did not have any cars left (I got there at 8am). Which I found odd because they sent me a confirmation email, telling me they had a car reserved for me. When this branch was telling me they had no cars for (after flying all night) they didn't even bother to apologize or help my wife and I out. They stated that they called and left a message to inform us that there were no cars left, to which they did not leave a message and called us while we were flying. I went to enterprise for a rental through my insurance company. This is the worst experience that I ever had with them. Maybe it's because of COVID-19 and social distancing but their approach is not practical. It's 90+ degrees outside. They have limited staff that's making the reservations and cleaning the cars as they need them while there are other people sitting in the office doing nothing. I asked if my baby can be inside because it's so hot, they just said no very bluntly. If I didn't need a car due to an accident. I won't ever come to this location. The staff is very slowwwwww. We waited 3 hours to get a car. There was probably only 10 people waiting on a car. There are people who are waiting on line and not wearing a mask. They are not even enforcing the rules. I rented with this location from 12/12/21 to 1/5/22 and my experience was very pleasant. This was an insurance claim rental, so I can't speak on their billing process. Nonetheless, the customer service was great from the start. I was welcomed and waited on by Victoria, Darnell and Bryan. Everyone was customer friendly and helpful. I got there on a Sunday about 20 minutes to closing and unexpectedly had to call the insurance company to fix a few things and Bryan was patient with me while doing so. Victoria processed my information quickly and Darnell explained everything precisely so I wouldn't be blindsided by the hold amount on my card. He also broke down the different types of rental coverages and which he'd recommended, and I appreciated when he didn't push when I made a selection I was comfortable with. I even received a courtesy call when they noticed the insurance company stopped payment, which I appreciated greatly because I was able to get on top of it before returning the car. It is terrible to be an establishment without integrity. Unfortunately, they didn't inform me of my date to return the rental and reported to the insurance company an end date of coverage. What a horrible experience! I took my car to the collision shop a few miles away. The owner of the collision shop kindly set up my rental and appointment with this location. He advised the branch manager, STACY, that my rate was $30/day per my insurance company and provided a confirmation number. When I arrived at the location, she took my credit card and driver license without letting me know that she did not have a vehicle that could accommodate my insurance policy's rate. I'm confused as to why she didn't tell me this earlier BEFORE having me drive to the location and taking my PERSONAL INFORMATION. This is my first experience with Enterprise and this location. I've only dealt with Hertz prior to this. The Valley Stream Enterprise location has set a new standard for my rental expectations. The service from beginning to end was excellent. The service people I dealt with (Mattie & Wayne) went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with everything. Long story short, I ended up having a billing issue when I returned the car and I went back in to address it. They remedied the issue promptly and continued their excellent service. I've rented from many enterprise over the years, normally I always have an amazing experience from start to finish. Sadly, this wasn't the case at the valley stream enterprise. Booked a rental online, and showed up at 8:15 to pick up the car. Turns out they had overbooked and didn't have any cars. After they called around to find a car, I signed all the paperwork and was told that they would take me to the car which was in the queens enterprise location. At this point I was late for work, but put on a smile and enjoyed the ride with Michael who couldn't have been nicer. When I was given the car, we did the look over and found no damage. When I started driving the car is when it was horrible. The car reeked of Marijuana. Reeked to the point that I had to drive with the windows. When I dropped off the car, I explained the situation to the manager. She rolled her eyes, but when I gave the keys to her and she checked the inside of the car, she gave her sincerest apology and said the car would definitely need to be detailed. She offered me a free day or upgrade next time I rented from them. I will never rent from this location again because of that car. read more

I live outside they're pick-up area so the Branch Manager tried to call a location closer to me but they didn't have the type of vehicle I needed at the same price. So this location came to pick me up and when I got there I realized that my child's car seat couldn't go in the Cargo Van I rented. Went to pick up rental because of an accident, employee was upset that I had said a curse word in his presence (this f***ing sucks is what I said) after he rudely told me I couldn't get the car because I only had a debit card and not a credit card. It was hard enough for me to get there, I have cancer and no car so had to walk a long way there. Needed the car so I can drive to chemo. Then I changed the rental name to my elderly father so he could rent it and he was told that was not the location of the rental (checked with enterprise corporate, it was the correct location).
