Was visiting from out of town and during my visit my car was involved in a hit and run accident and my car was totaled so I had to get a rental car through my insurance at Hertz and I've had terrible experiences with Hertz before especially the Oakland location which is my home location so I wasn't looking forward to going there but to my surprise this location was such a different experience. The customer service was top tier all of the ladies that were in the office during my visit and were very welcoming and so sweet. Alma is the one who helped me get my rental and she was the best. Man oh man, this place is an absolute wreck! It has the feeling, as if you're working a telemarketing job, and you would just sit at a bare table in a bare room! There were two girls, and I understand they were short staffed, so it's not THEIR fault, they did the best they could! I didn't get picked up like I was told and the body shop nicely drove me there, when it wasn't their job. Every person had to wait at least 30-40 minutes for a car and then the person took another 15-20 minutes to wash it. It did not go well for the people who had a bit of a time frame and expected a car pretty quickly. I was told I'd have a car that didn't actually exist when it was my turn. I've dealt with Enterprise many times and was hoping Hertz would be great as well. It really is unfortunate. This facility strives to ensure you're not upgraded...ever. I actually had an associate tell me the upgrades are looked at and he couldn't give me a different car. I told him I was Presidents circle. He said that only matters at an airport. I was blown away. I'm probably going to change my loyalty at this point. I want to first start off by saying how great customer service is at this location the manager Yasmin is one of the sweetest managers. She has great customer service. Her communication is excellent. I live 30 minutes away and most of the time I try to drive that 30 minutes just to come to this location. What I look for in a establishment is the way the team greets their customers making your rental experience, a smooth and comfortable one. Their cars are clean and all like nice. At time is does get busy, which should be understandable but the way they conduct themselves during rush-hour is what shows they can handle it and will try their best to get you out as fast as you can. SO ITS SERIOUS IF IM WRITING ONE NOW. if I could give -100 stars I would. this place is so trash!! 1st time I was there I had a reservation for 10am, didn't get the car after an hour as if I didn't have somewhere to be. they gave me a rental that was low on gas, still wet from the car wash, and rushed the cleaning inside. it still have fingerprints all through the windows, had boogers with hairs on the side panels, and other various places was FILTHY! I then returned the car and they just grabbed the keys, didn't ask a name of who was dropping off the car, or didn't end my hertz experience very well. I then had to get another rental the following week, decided hey let give them the benefit of doubt and just go back. went on a Saturday 9/16/23 had a 10am appt. I decided to call first before I headed that way just so I can make sure they have my car ready for the appt time, no answer. took the drive anyway to come to find out nobody, I MEAN ABSOLUTELY NOBODY came to work. not anyone in the office, not anyone in the back that cleans cars, NOBODY!! when I got to hertz there was people there stating they been there for over an hour and nobody could help them, even customer service. none of the closest locations had any cars available too! so bascially we were all shit out of luck, so I had all weekend with no car. here comes Monday thinking ok maybe something happened they didn't have any employees Saturday they should all be there. I called no answer, so I'm guessing there isn't anyone there again. I'm not sure who is in charge of this place, who's the second person in command but they seriously need to figure something out. its so sad to see hertz in general all have 2 starts or below ratings. We had made a reservation to pick up our car at 10:30, we got there to pick up around 12:15ish. Upon arriving it took until 1:45 to get our car. The young lady working was very rude. She made a comment that the car we were getting was on recall and she couldn't give it to us because she had to wait for the recall. We asked for another car and she noted this is all we got. It took a long time to get the car and with half a tank of gas. Even after waiting for that long there was no customer service of apologizing for the wait. Instead she was rude. We definitely get being shorthanded and being busy but that does not mean to be rude to other customers. Upon returning the car at 8am a couple days later, I asked if we still get charged for the full day on Thursday even though we didn't leave with the car until 2pm due to the wait. We were working with another gentleman and he was reviewing and the same young lady that was there during pick up, came from her desk and came over to intervene. She said we still get charged the full day and we can keep the car until 2pm for the full charge. She was more professional during drop off but extremely rude during pick up. Very bad experience. They did not do a maintenance check before they gave the car. When the oil level was showing low, they insisted that the car was wrong and their online records were correct. Even though the dip stick was showing the level was low they were very arrogant about it and kept me on hold for long durations. Wasted half my day and didn't give a clear answer. I'm out here to plan a surprise birthday party for my cousin and I have family to pick up from the airport.. since I was running around, I checked Yelp to see what time the office closed which the site stated they closed at 6PM. I arrived at 5:11PM, to find they were closed. They actually closed at 5PM. A young lady was at the office, so I knocked at the window. She opened the door and I told her what occurred and the mixed up in their Yelp advertisement. To make a longer story short. She said the office was closed, the sign on the door reads they close at 5PM and she should not have even opened the door! I do understand, I do. I should've called. I continually get disappointed by this Hertz. The car selection is not the best. The customer service is lacking!!! I believe they are understaffed and short on cars? I sympathize with that but it is not an excuse for poor service. My daughter and I both rented cars and turned in both cars this morning. We both needed a ride to 2 different locations (but literally one was on the way to the other, less than 5 mins away from each other) The woman helping us told me she could not have us both dropped off. I asked why being we both had rentals and mine was an insurance rental that is supposed to include pick up and drop off to the where my vehicle is getting repaired. This location does not deserve any star rating. Terrible customer service. You walk in and they don't even greet you or even acknowledge you till they are ready to do so. The girl that assisted me was jazmine. Bad customer service rented a 7seater vehicle for a family wedding in AZ. Called and reserved the vehicle on a Tuesday. Paid up front. Was supposed to pick up on Thursday. Called hour before on Thursday to let them know we're gonna pick up the vehicle around 5. Went to get the vehicle at 5 walk in and the tell me they don't have a 7 seater available. I was pissed. Lady at the destination says they had 2 the day before. But rented them. Trip had to be canceled because non of the people in the office did their job. We lost out on the hotel rented. I reserved and paid up front and the told the day of that they didn't have the size car I reserved and just had an "oh well, there's nothing we can do for you attitude. Didn't really seem to care at all and when I started asking how they could get away with taking my money and then leaving me high and dry the day before vacation I was hung up on. I had to call hertz's 1-800 number and they were more apologetic but still had no solution. They say I will get my money back in 7-10 business days which I'm sure will be an issue also. Horrible location Adrian is a total witch of a representative of the company. She has Zero customer service skills. I had booked online and the vehicle was available yet would not rent to me. I have a corporate card and they have a corporate account attached to hertz and use hertz. They wouldn't except the card or even rent to me unless the company rents it. The card is for that purpose they are to busy to call to book the reservation. They left me here with out a vehicle and can't rent another since all vehicles in the area are booked. This place is BUSY, wow. Be careful with all going on in the area to ensure you return keys to an actual Hertz employee. I entered from the back of the building because that's what the directions said and makeshift signs did point me to the lobby. I could see it being a long walk and feeling a little awkward. They did help me with quickly turning my car in and moved on to the other people waiting as three desks were open to help customers with their needs. The other customers all found their way to the "front" entrance. *UPDATE* I went back to Hertz yet again this morning. I had my two utility bills and $50 cash deposit. I waited for the approval to go through. After a bit of a wait, the Hertz employee came back out and said it was approved. Hallelujah! Eureka! Apparently the corporate office didn't call her back, but there was a regional rep in the office this morning. She explained my plight and he approved it on the spot. I think they felt sorry for me sitting there all bundled up with my box of tissue sniffling and sneezing. I guess it pays to look pathetic. I'm still keeping my rating at 2 stars. I would rate the corporate office -5 stars for all they put me through. I shouldn't of had to go back and forth so many times. Not only was it inconvenient, but it was embarrassing having my card declined so many times. I don't think I would be so irritated if I would have been told at my first attempt at car rental that I could bring in the utility bills and cash deposit, and that the problem could be due to the fact that my visa was issued from a credit union. The female employee redeemed herself though because she made sure that I left with a car this morning. So that is why I'm giving 2 stars, not 1. As I wrote in a previous post, some nimrod sideswiped my poor car. How rude! So while my car is getting repaired, my insurance adjuster set me up for a rental. I mean, I can't just sit around twiddling my thumbs all day now can I? I made my way over to Hertz after dropping off my car. The woman at the counter takes my driver's license, tries to sell me extra insurance (my adjuster told me not to buy it since I'm already covered), blah blah blah. She then said she needed a credit card for the $50 refundable deposit. So I gave her my Visa debit card. Declined. What? Begrudgingly I handed her my credit card. Grumble grumble. Declined? What is going on? I started wracking my poor little brain trying to figure out what was happening. I knew I had enough funds to cover the $50 deposit. And of course she said they wouldn't take cash. Fortunately I had transportation home. I immediately called my bank to find out what was happening. Unfortunately there is a block on the debit card if the purchase originates from Oklahoma, Texas or Florida. I called Hertz back, spoke to the woman who had helped me, and asked if their headquarters are in one of those states. Sure enough, headquarters are in Oklahoma. I asked her if there were any additional charges besides the $50. I was assured that it was only $50. So I hoofed it on back to Hertz. This time a man was at the counter to assist me. We went through the same spiel as before. I gave him my credit card again. DECLINED! I asked what the amount was. His reply? $58. Excuse me? I was told it was only $50. Even so, it should have gone through. The ONLY reason I gave this place 2 stars was because the man tried to offer solutions to me that the woman failed to mention. For example, he said I could bring copies of two local bills for approval and then I could pay cash. But the process would take over an hour. I'm suffering from a cold and did not feel like going back home, finding two bills, going back to Hertz and waiting for approval. I did appreciate the effort on his part though. I called the insurance adjuster and bank again to explain the situation. I was assured that everything should be ok. I went back, AGAIN today to try again. The card was DECLINED yet again. Is this a conspiracy? The woman said it might be because my card is issued by a credit union. That shouldn't matter. It is a VISA. Hello! I used it all over England and Scotland when I was there and they accepted it. I am not close to my credit limit so again, there is no reason it shouldn't go through. I have to go back in tomorrow morning with two utility bills and a $50 cash deposit and wait to be approved. If another rental agency was approved by my insurance, I would totally go that route. Alas no such luck. So I'm stuck. My car is supposed to be ready tomorrow evening. Let's hope so. The repair place is closed on New Year's Day AND the day after. Eeek! read more

Im sure if I was paying out of pocket (not through ins) and had unlimited amount of time to spend waiting around I would have gotten a much nicer and cleaner car. Yet when I call the Hertz Corporate "Gold" line 3 times and ask to extend your rental they will not find a way to do so if your bank card is not playing nice. Made a reservation for a midsized sedan two weeks in advance to pick up at 10am. I show up around 10:15am and they not only don't have any midsized sedans left, but also no cars ready and cleaned for me to take. I was grateful that they upgraded me for free to a compact SUV, but not what I reserved. Additionally, the car smelled like cigarettes. They tried to clean it and the smell was gone for about an hour, but came back. The staff was friendly and offered me to go to another Hertz to change the car the day after, but I was too busy to get that done and I was already on my way back to return the vehicle.
