Andre at Hertz rental car at the Santa Fe airport was beyond excellent in helping me get a one way rental car to Kansas City at 9:45PM (just before closing). My car lost it's transmission and the tow truck driver was able to get in touch with Andre to help me get the rental car. Both of them were God sends in my hour of need. I can't give them enough praise and would rate the service as a 5++. read more

NEVER USE HERTZ (aka HURTS). They are fraudsters! Do NOT do a one way or any rental with them. Period. Dot. We needed a one way rental, because we were picking up a truck that we were buying in Santa Rosa, CA. We're a family of 3. The Santa Fe Hertz was short-staffed and running behind. We had to wait an hour and a half to get the rental that they didn't get a chance to clean. When we got to Santa Rosa they took a $500 deposit that they said would be refunded in a number of days. Not only did they not refund us our $500, but they accused us of having dogs in the car and claimed that the cleaning fee was $500. (We have multiple witnesses including the man who sold us our truck who met us at the airport that we had no dogs with us in California). Our credit card company is fighting them on our behalf. Wow. Really Hertz! You send me a confirmation for my rental, but when I arrive you turn me away because you don't have any cars. Yet, I see multiple car keys hanging on the wall. The manager tells me those are for "special" members! WOW! But wait, theirs more, I'm told that I'm responsible to cancel my reservation so I don't get charged the $101cancellation fee! I would give this Hertz zero stars if I could. I made a reservation and when I arrived there wasn't a car for me. They didn't even look up my reservation, they just said I wasn't on their paper ticket board so I wouldn't be getting a car. And that two other people who did have their names on the paper didn't have cars either. What's the point of a reservation if they don't honor it? Poor fleet management and planning. They said to come back the next day at 8am. Guess what, there were no cars in the morning either. Again, when I called before getting an uber out there, they didn't even ask for my reservation and just said they didn't have any cars and told me to come out there at 12:30. I called at 12:30 not trusting they would actually have a car. No one answered. I called 3 more times this afternoon including at 3:00pm which the guy in the morning said and they didn't answer. I called Hertz's 1-800 number and you just go in circles in their phone system. I tried cancelling the reservation and it looks like they will charge me a "no-show" fee despite the fact HERTZ didn't have a car for me! When I finally got ahold of a human at Hertz 1-800 they told me to go online to cancel, well I filled out the form and the submit button on their mobile website didn't work! So I had to find a computer to submit the form. It said it would be 3-5 business days before I'd hear anything. I will not be using Hertz in Santa Fe ever again. And maybe not any other location either. Horrible customer service from start to finish, and their payments process seems like a racket assuming automatically penalizing the customer if the reservation doesn't become a pickup. Zero stars. I can see from other reviews that other people have experienced this at this location. Hertz corporate needs to review protocol at this location. read more

Wonderful experience at this hertz. I had an issue with a car rented at a previous location and had to swap it out here. My schedule was already packed and this didn't help with timing. That being said, as soon as i entered the lot, I was warmly greeted and was treated like a priority by the two men who were managing this location. Despite the unexpected arrival time, they were able to get me a replacement car quickly and efficiently where I was able to make my scheduled appointment time. Unfortunately, I didn't get an opportunity to ask for their names but I appreciate the quick turnaround time and their superior customer service. read more

100% incompetent. I'm a Hertz Gold member, and this is the worst rental location I've experienced in 30 years. Two bad experiences with the Santa Fe Regional Airport location, so my horror stories are not one-offs. First, made a reservation online for pick up July 11. Reservation confirmed. Get to the airport and was told "No cars available." Had to Uber. Second, I rented a car for two days August 20, and returned car on time. Location charged me $353 for a $99 rental. Had to dispute charges. Additionally, they did not close the contract after I returned the car, so every day another $100 hold was placed on my credit card. I had to contact Hertz corporate to get it resolved. DO NOT USE! read more

Hard to find your phone number, andy written inquiry has not been responded to. Hetrz is not at all customer focused and there is a very complex chain to gain resolution for fraudulent billing. I would have given this Hertz location a minus rating if possible. The only reason they got one star was that I had to put something and I got the car I asked for at the rate they told me and it was in good shape. But, do not... I repeat DO NOT use this Hertz location. Just to be somewhat fair, the airport is undergoing massive remodeling, but Avis is handling it well and Hertz is a disaster. They only have one person there and Avis has three. When we arrived it took 45 minutes to get our car. We arrived 10 minutes early and were told our car was not ready. Turns out, the one Hertz employee had to clean cars, bring cars to you from a public parking lot about 1/2 mile away and do all the paperwork. He had to go clean the car, but didn't bring it to us. Filled out the paperwork, slammed down the metal grate to close the office and disappeared. When he came back there were three additional people waiting to get cars. Rather than getting our car, he kept talking to other people. Long story short, he was rude, disappeared for 10 or 15 minutes at a time with no one to talk to, and took 45 minutes to get our car. Actually, the Avis guy took us to the lot where our car was and helped us load it. Coming back to drop off... Avis had several slots at the terminal to drop off cars and Hertz had one. It was occupied. The Hertz person (same rude guy) told us to drive down to the lot and leave it there then hike back to the terminal - about a 7 minute walk. This would be on a narrow road with no sidewalks in the sun with bad knees. Again he slammed down the metal grate and disappeared. The Avis guy once again came to our rescue and gave us one of his slots. Not enough people working for Hertz, not enough space for pick up and return, not a shuttle available to the lot, no customer service!!!!! read more

DO NOT RENT FROM HERTZ SANTA FE!!!!!!! I rented a car from them, drove a mile down the road and every light in the dashboard lite up, so I turned around and exchanged it. The second car seemed fine until I was driving down the interstate and the BUMPER RIPPED OFF the car!!! I called Hertz and they told me in so many words, "Sorry. We can't help you because you're in the middle of nowhere. But drive the car another 300 miles to the next Hertz to exchange it." Yes, I was in the middle of NOWHERE stranded by Hertz and their poorly maintained vehicle. Thankfully a good Samaritan saved me with some bungee cords. And the kicker is they charged me $700 for the bumper repair! They was absolutely no way I could see the bumper was not attached correctly to the car during a routine walk around the vehicle. The moral of the story is avoid this company! Reason: 1. First car was faulty. 2. Second car fell apart 3. Terrible customer service that will strand you on the side of the road. As a female, in the middle of nowhere, that is a really scary situation! 4. They will try and scam you and your insurance company for their terribly assemble car. 5. First off, car rental experience with Hertz at the Santa Fe Airport was super easy and affordable. After landing at my destination in Illinois I realized I left my expensive sunglasses in my rental car. I immediately called Hertz and spoke with the manager (I can't remember his name). I explained the situation and I gave him my credit card information. There was a problem with that information so the manager decided to wish me a Merry Christmas and paid for it out of his own pocket. I hope all of his bosses see this review and give him an accommodation for his efforts! read more

Between calling and reserving the car and arriving and paying the price went from $141 to over $200. Apparently you are expected to know all the various added expenses to ask about or they won't include them in the "estimate." If you ask the price of a car and they say $141, and you say "Book it!" Why not tell right then what the total is gonna be? You know, the "out the door cost!" Super Super friendly staffs!! It was our honeymoon and my wife and I were greeted by a very pleasant gentleman, Bernard, who gave us a free upgrade when we told him it was our honeymoon. We got convertible Camaro and it made our honeymoon more beautiful. Never rent from this location unless you want to be forced to find another company to rent from after reserving as an elite member being told that they are to busy and will not guarantee having a car as they are to busy and I overwhelmed! These agents need to be trained in a bit of customer service or find another job without human contact. These poor individuals must have a difficult time functioning with other human beings. We returned our rental car after a family reunion of 29 people which was wonderful except that 11 of us came down with colds or flu. The youngest was taken to the emergency room with a fever of 105 and the eldest experienced a strange incident of losing consciousness while standing up - very scary for those around her - from which happily she has recovered. When we got to Santa Fe airport, we were surprised by a large, jovial man who opened the door saying, "Happy 2018!" and regaling us with good wishes in English and Spanish. I told him I was so happy to have run into him because we needed that uplift. I told him what had happened that morning, and then he gave us a break on the gas charge for our car! We thanked him profusely and he said, "That's what 2018 is about - kindness." Bernard is our inspiration for this year. I have told this story many times already and am taking Bernard's message to heart. The world needs more true human beings like him. read more
